chapter 6: the deal

After kazuto had dinner one of the maids whispered something in kazuto's ear and Kazuto himself just answered him with a nod then returned to his room and waited until midnight.

When midnight had arrived Kazuto came out of his room and into the duke's office, there was a man standing in front of the window looking at the moonlight, "you call me, duke theodor," kazuto said that made the duke turn his gaze towards the kazuto then after that sit on the sofa and tell kazuto to sit down, kazuto himself sat on the sofa opposite the duke.

"The reason why I asked you here is to offer something to you" the duke told kazuto.

"As you heard earlier, my daughter will start her career as an adventurer, as a duke not as a father of katia I want to ask you to accompany and look after my daughter," the duke said and he continued, "of course I don't intend to ask for it for free, I will pay for the services you provide us, what do you think of this offer," duke theodor to kazuto.

Honestly speaking from kazuto's point of view, none of these offers gave a loss from any side, katia was a person who was considered a good friend by kazuto, a kind person, naturally kazuto also intends to enter the adventurer guild along with katia because he also needs money for his daily life especially if he also has to improve his abilities and what else is more better than being an adventurer, therefore the offer from the duke would definitely be accepted by kazuto, but still if there was something stuck in his head and he decided to ask the duke directly.

The morning had come and it was time for Kazuto to go to Leon's house, then when the duke asked his servant to take Leon using the train he boarded yesterday to the old library where leon currently lives, kazuto knocked on the door of the house and once again he knocked on it until Leon opened the door, then drove him to the room that had been leon prepared for kazuto stay 2 years ahead.

All day long Kazuto tidied up his new room and put things up until nightfall where he was called by Leon to eat together, "by the way what are you going to do for the next 2 years, ?" Leon asked who ate his food.

"Au heard from theodor if you use a kind of strengthening magic to increase your speed when fighting the head of the magic knight," said Leon who got a nod of confirmation from kazuto.

"Well, since I promised your father to take care of you, I will accept you as my last disciple, think of it as an honor because it's not every day that you get a chance to become a disciple of a former royal mage," Leon told kazuto who showed his status as a former royal mage, "we'll start our magic training tomorrow," explained Leon who had finished his dinner and left the dining table.

In the morning Kazuto prepared to head out to the guild where a girl was waiting for him in front of the library where he currently lives, "kazuto, you're slow," his servant who was waiting for Kazuto who came out of the library while leaning himself on the wall, he wears black pants with black boots his shirt consists of a blue t-shirt with a scarf around his neck that is the same color as his hair.

"Sorry katia, so how about we go now" said Kazuti, who got a yes from Katia and walked through the settlement while speaking.

"By the way I want to know what our first mission will be like, whether we will kill hundreds of orcs or save the daughter of criminals, ahh~ I can't wait," yelling Katia who did not show the patience to start her first mission even though kazuto himself felt that their mission would not be as he imagined but he remained silent because he did not want to destroy hope katia.

"Well we get there," said Katia who saw the large building where the adventurer guild is located.

"All right, let's go inside" said Kazuto and they then entered the guild where people turned their eyes towards him, they themselves ignored their gazes and continued walking towards the receptionist.

"Can I help you, ?" Ask the receptionist.

"We want to sign up to be adventurers" said kazuto, after which the receptionist picked up some tools.

"Well wait a minute" he said after which showed a crystal ball in their deoan.

"Please put your magic in this ball, the brighter this ball shines then it shows how much magic you have," he said he put his hand on the crystal ball and transferred his mana into the ball after which it shone very brightly and dazzled the eyes of some adventurers who saw it.

"Hm, it's good that you graduate, next," he said, writing in a notebook.

Then Kazuto did the same thing with katia transferring her mana into the ball which after that the ball also showed a slightly different reaction where the ball became a little cracked which surprised some adventurers there including the receptionist who saw it because events like this almost never happened throughout her career as a receptionist, "did I graduate, ?" ask kazuto.

"Hm, yes, you can say you passed," he said, a little shocked by the results and after that the receptionist took them to the arena in the guild where they would be tested, to obtain their licenses and classes.

"Alright the first participant," he said who called katia to advance to the arena.

"Well," said Katia who came forward and stood in the middle of the arena where she was going to fight the female witch.

"You guys are ready, start," said the jury who started their fight test.

Then in an instant a fireball appeared around Katia and threw it towards the witch, but at that time the fire was driven away by the wind protector who removed the fire of katia, after that katia threw another magic at him only to be eliminated / being destroyed by a witch fighting him the same thing continues until the witch uses water magic and shoots him towards Katia, throwing him out of the arena, and unknowingly the time of their fight was over and the magician who was resisted by katia was considered the winner because it was clear that the magician who was resisted by katia was just playing around against her, katia herself then goes to the jury that gave her the class rating she was in and the reason why she was placed in that class, katia herself just nodded her head and was sad because the results she got were so bad but after that she got back excited because of the next fight.

"Alright please advance the next participant," said the jury who after Kazuto advanced and stood in the middle of the field against a man wearing armor that covered all parts of his body including his head and a large sword in his hand.

"All right the two participants are ready," he said last time, "start,"
