The Retaliation of the CEO's Wife and the Idol
CHAPTER 33: WELCOME TO LA LEMONADA, MRS. CEO!
The meeting room measuring no less than twenty square meters was full. All eyes were on a woman sitting at the very end of the table, right on the left side of the white screen that still showed biased images of the projector lamp. The woman who had just finished her presentation then shifted to the center right in front of the screen, locking all the attention of all the staff there.
“From today onwards, I am Egalita Sangpa. Taking over the CEO position previously occupied by brother Evandy Sjahreza ...,” the woman seemed to catch her breath to continue her words, “My ex-husband,”. Instantly some of the staff looked at each other and then looked at Ega. Highlight the eyes of the La Lemonada staff who attended the meeting in the room as if to put their pity on Ega, maybe because they already know about the video scandal Evan and Aluna scattered in the virtual world. The woman took a breath to loosen the tightness entrenched in her chest cavity, trying to stay firm in front of the staff who were still staring at her.
“I beg you all to cooperate, and I hope that the bad events that have just happened in our office do not happen again. Because our company so upholds honesty and credibility. Can we cooperate well?” Ega threw a question to all the staff sitting at the table in front of him. All the staff nodded obediently which Ega then replied with a thin smile full of authority.
“Good I think enough for our meeting today, please return to our respective work, please,” close the woman who was then followed by the staff who began to leave the meeting room one by one to complete their work. Ega seemed busy cleaning up the files in front of him, until shortly afterwards Luke and Nindy came over.
“Ga ...,” greeted Nindy with a heart that instantly made Ega raise his gaze.
“Ya?” answer Ega briefly while returning to focus on clearing the files. Nindy and Luke exchanged glances, hugging each other to open the conversation first.
“You are why?” Ega looked up again and smiled faintly to find the awkward behavior of his two friends.
“Ga, we are sorry for everything. Honestly we really do not know the secret that Evan and Amora have kept even though we often had lunch together.” Nindy ventured to open the conversation.
“We also do not know the case of financial statements that Amora has inflated. You can re-audit our reports in person if you are not sure,” Lukas continued. His tone trembled with caution. The woman smiled back.
“I already know everything, and I've proven you're not involved in the financial statement fraud. I really appreciate your credibility with this company. Thank you for that,” he concluded while staring alternately at the two friends who were still standing awkwardly before him.
“Regarding the secret that Amora and Evan have been hiding, I think you have done the right thing by not mixing up personal and corporate affairs, I think, even though you know what The Five Hunters status is,” he explained. Nindy then ventured to approach Ega and just hugged her.
“I'm sorry, Ga. I'm really sorry for not being sensitive to the problems that have been happening to you all this time. I am a useless friend!” nindy cursed herself. Then Luke walked over and apologized. The three friends embrace, which instantly makes Ega and Nindy cry. Luke calmed his two friends as much as possible by stroking the backs of the two women in turn.
“In the future please involve us if you are having problems. We'll always be there for you, Ga." Luke's condolences reassured his best friend followed by a nod of Nindy's head still sobbing in his tears.
“Thank you because you guys are still with me,” Ega said. The Five Hunters were now only three people left, who would fight to the point of the last blood to advance the effort they had pioneered together.
“Welcome to La Lemonada, Mrs.CEO!” luke and Nindy were almost at the same time.
Ega seems busy rearranging the workspace Evan is now controlled by him, moving all the belongings Evan still left there. He deftly inserted Evan's unused belongings, and all the things related to the man. On her ex-husband's desk, there is a small frame containing a wedding photo of Ega and Evan. The woman smiled bitterly and grabbed the picture frame perched on the table.
“Maybe he put a wedding photo on his desk while his dirty thoughts wander with another woman,” he concluded as he immediately threw the picture frame into a cardboard box containing all of Evan's belongings. Ega then contacted the cleaning service to ask for help disposing of the goods. Before long, the janitor came and immediately Ega asked him to lift the pile of cardboard.
“Please throw everything in the trash. Lest there be anything left,” pinta Ega with a firm tone but still polite. The janitor nodded obediently then rushed to lift the boxes and took them out. Simultaneously, Nindy entered the room carrying a plastic bag containing a white box.
“You ordered this?” said Nindy while showing the package in her hand. Feeling that she had never ordered anything that Nindy had brought, the woman shook her head.
“I didn't order anything. Who brought him here?” Ask Ega curiously. Nindy shrugged her shoulders because she didn't understand.
“Foodcourier left it to me when I was about to move the car. He said this is an order in your name. The aroma is very good, it looks like I am hungry,” concluded Nindy while putting the box. Instantly a special scent burst into Ega's nasal cavity while Nindy placed the package right in front of him. The scent he was very familiar with without needing to open the box first. A special aroma that momentarily opens up all the memories of Ega in the past.
“Garlic Bread?”
