CHAPTER 46: GETTING MARRIED?!

The brown-eyed woman roared her car with heart. The parcel that turned out to contain a threat that he got this morning at the office made it difficult to concentrate. Several times the car he was driving almost tangled with other vehicles because of his divided mind. Slowly the brown-eyed woman pulled over her car as soon as she got to the front of the house, but was surprised to find the fence open and the father's car parked in the garage. In front of his house were two men installing window glass, another man was seen cleaning glass pieces scattered on the floor. ‘Again?!’ think Ega who is now increasingly worried because he got terror three times in less than a day.

“Papa?” the woman found her father watching the worker from behind the door. The look on the father's face that looked tense from holding back anger, looked at Ega with a stern look. The gaze that always made Ega's guts shrivel a long time ago, not because the father was a figure full of anger, but because of his decisiveness that made anyone in front of him feel reluctant.

“You've arrived? Papa wants to talk to you,” firmly the middle-aged man while walking towards the middle room which was immediately followed by Ega.

“Sit,” his word. The woman immediately sat down without a fight, bowing her gaze out of fear.

“Who's Iko? What's your relationship with him?” asked the man while showing a bottle containing a threat message that is almost the same as what Ega had received before. The bead of the woman's eyes widened as soon as she found a piece of paper that the father thrust until it instantly made Ega shake. The woman bowed without saying a word.

“Don't tell me this is Iko the famous singer?” The man tried to guess.

“Dia ...,” Ega was unable to continue his words. The atmosphere was silent for a moment, full of tension.

“So right, Iko in question is Iko the singer?” The man moved from his seat.

“Pa I can clearin ...,” said the woman slightly stammered.

“Oh course. Of course you have to give papa an explanation for this mess, Ega. Since last night this incident was recorded on surveillance cameras, and this afternoon repeated itself. Are you in a relationship with the singer?” urge the father to demand an explanation to his daughter who had been staring without a word. His lips were mute, he was unable to put out words that would surely provoke his father's anger.

“Papa's Answer, Ega!” firmly the man who instantly made Ega stunned.

“I ..., Yes, Pa,” concluded Ega stammered who instantly made the father sigh long.

“Jeez, Ega! How many times have Papa reminded you, you can be in a relationship with anyone, but not with a public figure!” ketus the father who looked disappointed at the attitude taken by his daughter.

“But why, Pa? Why didn't Papa forbid me from having a relationship with a public figure? What's wrong?”

“This is his fault! You saw it for yourself, ‘kan? Your life is not calm! Terror is here and there, Ga! You want to live like this?” firmly the father while showing the chaos that happened back in the house. The brown-eyed woman fell silent again. He was no longer able to argue the father who seemed furious over the terror that befell his son.

“Many women like that man. Unfortunately, many of them want to have it excessively to interfere with their personal lives. Connecting with a public figure is difficult, Ega. You will sacrifice a lot in it. Papa does not want you to suffer for the second time,” explained the father while holding the shoulder of the child who is still fixated without a sound.

“See Papa,” the man's pinta which instantly makes Ega dare to look into his eyes.

The woman's tears almost fell due to the turmoil inside her chest.

“Do you really love her? Or just fill the emptiness of your heart?” ask the man.

“I ..-,”

“Papa ask to stop everything right now. Papa will find the right man for you if you really want to end your loneliness. But Papa please, not with him.” At once the woman gasped at the father's request that he immediately end his relationship with Iko.

“Papa, I ...,” Ega can no longer say a word. Her tears slowly flowed down her cheeks. Intentions want to shout that he has the right to make his own life choices, but the authority and decisiveness of the father makes his guts shrink.

“Think well said Papa,” concluded the middle-aged man while leaving Ega who is still confused. The woman no longer knew what to do. He has to tell Iko everything tonight.

Late in the evening, Ega immediately rushed his car to the place where Iko was. Tonight, the man is working on his new arrangement in the studio and Ega decides to come see him there, because that place was the place that he considered the safest for the two of them to meet. His steps were a little hasty as soon as he reached the location of the studio, and sure enough, the man had been there, seemed busy working on the arrangement of his new song.

“You've arrived?” greet the man as he rushed over to the beautiful woman standing at the door, then gave him a warm embrace. Unlike usual, this time Ega returned the hug very tightly.

“I know you must miss me, ‘kan?” asked the man while gently stroking Ega's beautiful hair, but then he immediately let go of the embrace as soon as he heard the soft sobs of the woman before him.

“Hey,” call the male soft.

“Why you?” the man asked as soon as he found the woman in front of him teary-eyed. There the tears were then Iko tried to lock Ega's gaze fixed.

“Ega, tell me what happened? Why are you crying?” repeat the man. The woman reached into the brown leather bag that had been sitting on her shoulder, took out three small notes, all of which contained the threatening message she got today and handed it to Iko. The man was immediately shocked as he read the contents of the threat message.

“Who did all this?!” get that man. His reddened eyes ignited with anger to find the woman he loved threatened.

“Entahlah. He bothered me since the early hours of the morning,” Ega concluded to the man.

“How about you? Are you hurt?” the woman shook her head.

“I was just a little scared, Ko,” said the woman who immediately made Iko embrace him back.

“I'll find out who sent this. I'll make sure he gets his reply,” growled the man.

“Maybe he's your fan who doesn't like our relationship, Ko. He must have followed you anywhere without you knowing it so he also knows where I am,”. The man sighed, then grabbed both of Ega's soft hands and looked at her fixedly. The two were silent for a moment, looking at each other without saying a word.

“Ega, I can't let this happen to you,” those words are cut off. Silent. The woman waited for what the man in front of her would say.

“Ega-,”

“Allow me to always be by your side. I want to protect you all the time from threats like this. I want the whole world to know that you're mine, so that no one else will dare to bother you."

The silence greeted the two.

“Marry me, Ega.” Pinta the man. His eyes seemed to be moving in a little hopeful motion. “Marry me and I will be your protector.”

“Married?!” the woman was shocked to hear those words. Words that sound sweet to all women, yet scary to him.
