Duke Edinburgh's residence, garden gazebo.
"Slurpp."
Sherlin sipped a cup of tea with a strange look.
Sherlin is currently relaxing in the garden gazebo accompanied by Robert and Penelope with some snacks and tea.
"Tomato, what's wrong with you? you keep daydreaming like this." Robert spoke while looking at Sherlin in confusion.
Sherlin did not reply she was merely pensive as she looked towards the fountain.
"Sherlin, are you okay?." Penelope asked with a worried tone.
"...."
"Ck, hey! tomato are you sick!?." Robert shouted in annoyance.
Sherlin gasped in surprise, she shook her head quickly. "Huh!? n-no. I'm.. I'm fine." Sherlin replied slowly.
"Uhh..really? the look on your face doesn't look good Sherlin." Penelope.
"Yes I'm really good Pene."
"Are you thinking about yesterday?." Robert worriedly asked.
"Yes." Yeah." Sherlin nodded her head slowly.
Robert was stunned, he instantly fell silent and then slowly picked up a small cake in front of him and cleared his throat. "Ekhem ekhem!, you don't have to think too much about that tomato. Maybe later your head will emit smoke because of overloaded haha."Said Robert while eating the small cake with one go.
Plaque.
Penelope hit Robert's shoulder arm fiercely. "This shitty kid! keep your mouth stupid!."
"Ughhh!. You rude girl! your hands are easy to clap people."
"Hmph!, you also easily spoil the atmosphere."
"God! it's better than hitting someone, isn't it!?."
"Huh!?!? kau–.
Sherlin sighed softly, couldn't they read the exact situation first before fighting like that?.
Sherlin is in hard thinking mode and needs some quiet but they both mess her up.
"You two are already." Sherlin flinched.
"But/But."
"Hey!!/Hey!!!."
"You!!!/you!!!."
"You're quiet!/you shut up!."
Penelope and Robert repeatedly spoke like that at the same time. And they were raving at each other continuously.
Brakkk.
Sherlin kicked the table, she couldn't stand the behavior of the two of them. Her head had now reached its maximum heat temperature.
"Enough!!!."
"Wowwww, hey tomato! your head is really like emitting hahahaha smoke!." Robert laughed loudly.
"Ha ha ha ha. Shut up you little carrot boy!!."
Ughhhh!
Nyut nyut.
Sherlin's head feels like it's pulsating right now, she's massaging the base of her temple.
'Haaahhh... What fatal mistake have I made in the past until I could have met these two quarrelsome boys?.'
"alright then. You two please calm down a little. My head is like circling seven circles around hearing you guys fight like that!."
Crickets krik.
"Of course Sherlin, I'm not going to serve that bitch again!." Penelope clasped Sherlin's hand.
"......Hmph!." Robert turned his face away.
"Good." Sherlin smiled brightly.
Sherlin shook her head. "It's about the third princess of the kingdom of Fortnum."
"To be honest, I also think about him." Sela Penelope's.
"But this kind of thing I think is already common among nobles."
Robert nodded. He agreed with Penelope's statement.
If in a critical or emergency situation, sending girls is one of the most profitable ways. They could incite and force their daughter with frills to return the favor to her parents.
This is no different than selling your own child to someone else. Thus, this might be one of the reasons why the third princess of Fortnum kingdom was sent here.
Sherlin sighed, they would not understand this gloom of her heart. He couldn't explain to them about this, because maybe they would take it as mere nonsense.
Sherlin looked up at the sky and closed her eyes and clenched her hands.

Imperial palace, mansion White roses.
POV Princess Clover
I am the third princess of a small kingdom that is close to a large empire. I am currently sold to the Empire and become a candidate for the crown princess. But, it was a waste. Even if I become the crown princess I will be about and trampled by those nobles right?
Since the king's childhood, my father didn't like me. Every time I met him I always got that look of contempt and his cold back.
The reason for all that is because I am an illegitimate child who should not exist. I was born out of a forbidden relationship between a street dancer who had a pretty face and a king. My mother was a dancer from a barbarian tribe that most people knew by nature. Therefore, everyone did not like my skin that looked like a barbarian tribe.
My mother once told me that once barbarians were slaughtered and hunted. My mother was lucky, she managed to escape and to keep her life together she became an entertainer on the street. And at that time, my mother met the king. The king was fascinated by my mother's exotic beauty and she forced my mother to come to the palace and become a low-level concubine.
My mother had no other choice, if she refused she would be instantly killed on the spot or in jail. And he had to agree.
A few years passed, the mother lived her days poorly. He was always insulted by servants and people in the palace including the legitimate wife of the king, the empress.
The Empress was very often bothering my mother. He always used various means to make my mother die, whether it was with poison, accident scenario, hiring a killer or at worst mentally tormenting her and making her commit suicide. Fortunately, my mother survived until I was born.
If you ask why the emperor is not helping, the answer is that he does not care at all.
Y'all know? he was a lowly moral animal who only knew about having fun. Every day he went to the brothel or gambled. All of his work was done entirely by the palace clerks and his secretaries. He only rules according to his lust. I have absolutely no idea what the consequences of that decision are.
A few months later my mother became pregnant and gave birth to me. He gave the name Clover which means Clover leaves. My mom wishes I was lucky just like my name. Also after giving birth my mother became sick often, her body weakened. But even so, she still took care of me and raised me. Even without the father's attention or a lot of money, I was still happy living a simple life with my mother.
But, when I was seven years old he could no longer move freely even he could not stand for long, and finally he could only lie on the bed.
My days go by taking care of my mother all the time. But bad, the two daughters of the empress who were one year younger than me always bothered me every day. They were both legitimate daughters born from the womb of a empress and I was a daughter born of a lowly concubine. Automatically me and them have very contrasting lives. It is like a bright color with a dark color.
And when I was eight, my mother left me. She was poisoned by the queen blatantly. But, he was left alone. My mother was buried in a seedy cemetery with no one to deliver. Only I am one. They truly assume that one's life is worthless. Only as long as they are not nobles, they can take me and my mother for granted.
I was really devastated at that time. There was no one else I could hug and support. I'm alone in this empty palace.
"Hahaha, you see the skin! he looks like cow dung, doesn't he!?."
"Hahahaha, your sister is right. He's ugly, black, smelly and dirty just like cow dung!."
"And look at his sister's white hair! he's like an old man! his eyes are also very ugly. It's just dark. There's no beautiful beauty."
My appearance was always made fun of by everyone. Even in the empire. Just because I'm black, you guys are all out insulting me.
My skin is black, my hair is white like gray and my eyeballs are deep black. They all judged me like a monster. You don't even know me yet but you've judged me that way.
"Eh~ ups, your sister can't be like that. How come he's our big brother instead of~?."
"Oh! yep! you're right, brother! but..he is just a child of a lowly person right? so it's okay. I won't be angry ahaha!."
"Fufu, you're right even if we torture him to death father won't punish us even if he doesn't seem to budge in the least. After all why bother taking care of commoners right?."
The insults and scorn that I always hear every day have become my daily intake in this gloomy palace. Even the servants blatantly insulted me before my own eyes.
"Haha. Look at that lowly girl! she's really embarrassing!."
"Hem, you're right. He's very poor, isn't he? I was lucky just to be a servant like this instead of being the daughter of that lowly barbarian concubine!."
"Yes, that's right. No need to pity her! he deserves that. If she's gonna blame him, why can't she be unlucky to be an illegitimate daughter?."
The waiter was right. Though my name is Clover which has the meaning of luck but ..why am I like this? Even I was sold to an empire that was very foreign to me. This is all unfair.
Mother. Will I always be unlucky!? is this name you gave me just nonsense!?.
I think I'd like to die after you, mom. I. I'm not strong enough to hold all this.
