The Villainess and Modern Weapons

The Villainess and Modern Weapons
Chapter 42 The Enlightenment

The evening came.

Dinner together was done about three hours ago So, Sherlin is now spending time in her room.

Sherlin is currently reading a book on a sofa while being accompanied by a few snacks and a cup of hot chocolate.

Gloxinia and Felix were also inside her room, they were both sitting leisurely near Sherlin.

Sherlin's fingers turned the pages of the book one by one, Sherlin was very focused on reading the book.

On the other hand Felix looked at Sherlin irritatedly. He was so upset, didn't he ask Felix to come to him during the day because something was important? but...what is this!? from day to night he did not talk about it anymore. Is he bragging?.

Huh! he sacrificed his time off for it.

Felix opened his voice. "Hey rancid boy! I've been waiting a long time! what important thing do you want to talk about!?."

Sherlin glanced at Felix for a moment and then continued reading the book.

'That's right!.' Felix shouted in his heart.

Gloxinia just listened quietly, she was deep in thought. Y'all know? Gloxinia was currently conversing with her sister. Of course, they were both telepathic.

'Brother! are you trying to kill me with these piles of papers!?!?. Comeing! get back here!!!.' Shouted his brother Gloxinia.

Gloxinia chuckled in reply. 'Calm down my sweet sister. Brother wants you to help big brother hahahaha. Besides, I'm busy here. Isn't helping her distressed brother one of the examples of a good sister to her brother??.'

'What!? sister...are you kidding me!?. You handed all these jobs to me for over five years!!! is this an example of a good brother?.'

'I'm much busier than big brother!.'

Gloxinia instantly fell silent, she nervously replied to her sister. 'Eum...Hufftt. I'll be right back. But, later. I'll ask permission from miss.'

Gloxinia's sister changed her tone to be calmer. 'Really? brother is coming back? Tskkk! alright. I'll wait, but just look if in the long run you don't come! I will no longer do these jobs!.'

Wush.

Gloxinia's sister decided on her telepathy all of a sudden. Gloxinia was surprised, she actually did not have the heart to leave all that work to her only sister. But, after all, he wanted to be with Sherlin the whole time. Haaahhh, he will discuss this with Sherlin later.

Back to Sherlin.

Sherlin closed her eyes and concentrated.

Wush.

The flower-patterned cup containing hot chocolate floated upwards. A net was faintly visible between Sherlin's hand and the cup.

A few seconds later Sherlin opened her eyes, she smiled in satisfaction.

"Got it!."

Felix and Gloxinia looked at that cup that was lifted up. They were both amazed.

"Woahh! missis! how could the cup fly!? you are so great!." Praise Gloxinia. His eyes sparkled and his mouth was unceasingly smiling.

Sherlin chuckles. "Hehe, I tried to create a new technique by applying the concept of which nets on certain objects other than bullets."

Gloxinia. On the other hand Felix's reaction was quite annoying.

Felix berkehem's. "Ekhem! pretty interesting."

"....." Sherlin stared at Felix.

Sherlin had her reasons when she didn't answer Felix's questions. He was seriously reading a book about magicians. The book was thick and looked old, but the contents were still good and intact.

"I'm sorry I made you wait for Felix."

Felix turned into a human being, leaning on the couch. "Hm! that's okay!. So, what's that important thing?

Sherlin smiled slightly, she lowered the cup to where she was. "Actually.none."

"???."

Felix put on a confused face. Sherlin who saw him just smiled widely.

"Felix, your face looks stupid." Sherlin said, smiling.

"Ti.dwd. Is there?." Felix lowered his head, he gave off a gloomy aura.

Sherlin casually replied, she raised her shoulders. "Yes. Nothing, I just want you to accompany my magic class."

"Ah so yes. I sacrificed my comfortable rest...." Felix raised his gaze and stared ferociously at Sherlin.

"Based on that damn rancid brat*n!!!! you fool!! you $@#_ $@_#)#)( @$#)//#/#." Felix swore incessantly causing Gloxinia to stagger. Sherlin simply smiled as she covered both her ears.

Moments later, Sherlin walks out of her room leaving Felix and Gloxinia.

Tap tap tap.

Just as Sherlin was about to grab the doorknob, Felix stopped her.

"Hey! rancid boy! you don't go yet!!! I haven't me–.

Hap!

Gloxinia covered Felix's mouth with her hands, she smiled sweetly at Sherlin.

"Go, lady. I'll handle this."

Sherlin smiled slightly and nodded. "Thank you, Gloxinia."

"Sure miss."

Clamps.

Sherlin opened the door of her room and closed it again. He walked a little quickly to his father's office. Sherlin's purpose in coming to her father's office was none other than asking about the spirit summoning ceremony.

The drap drap.

The atmosphere in the hallway of the mansion was quite quiet. Sherlin looked at the surroundings of the passageways that passed through her.

'It's quiet, maybe everyone's asleep?.' Sherlin mumbled softly.

Well, anyway, it's late at night. Even Lili had also rested in her room.

In the midst of the journey, Sherlin meets the butler on the stairs. He just got off the fourth floor.

Sherlin scratched her nape. "Oh! Sebastian! hahaha, I-I want to go to dad's office."

Sebastian stared at Sherlin for a few seconds, then he politely replied. "So so. Let's young lady, I'll drive you."

Sherlin jerks. "E-uh? Sebastian doesn't need haha. You go rest, I can do it myself."

"But young lady, it's late at night. If on the road you're tired I can carry you later."

"What-what?."

"Sebastian, kamu–.

Sherlin and Sebastian argue fiercely. And some time passed, the debate was won by Sebastian and Sherlin resignedly between her father's workspace.

Srek srek.

Outside the room there was a faint sound of the voice of the person writing.

Sherlin smiled slightly, she was right in front of her father's study door.

Tok.

"Sir, this is my butler. Young lady wants to meet you."

Sebastian knocked on the door and spoke from outside the room politely.

Duke stopped writing and stared at the door, he opened his voice. "Come in."

Clamps.

Sebastian opens the door slowly and closes it again. Sherlin is behind him she appears from behind Sebastian and waves at Duke.

"Good night! dad!."

"Sherlin, why haven't you slept? it's already night. And what brings you here?." Duke spoke while continuing to write.

Sherlin laughed in a small tone, she walked over to the table where Duke worked and grabbed his left arm.

"Hehehe, I can't sleep because I miss my tamvan father." Sherlin said as she wrestled spoiled in the Duke's arm.

Duke stopped his writing activities, he rubbed Sherlin's head gently.

"The more days you're getting smart saying sweet."

Sherlin only smiled slightly, she did not reply to the Duke's words just now.

"By the way why is Dad still working? shouldn't you usually be sleeping with mom by now? is there more work to be done?." Sherlin looked through the files that were piled up on Duke's desk.

Sherlin silently said in her heart. 'Steers too!.'

He stared at the horror on the papers. They are so many! to the extent that all the files if stacked can match Sherlin's shoulder height.

In the future Sherlin will definitely experience this as well. Working on the work and affairs of the Dukedom region.

Sherlin gulped her saliva rough.

Glucose.

The Duke stared towards the side he nervously answered Sherlin's question. "Y-yes. Dad's job today is very b-many hahaha. So, a-dad has to be overtime."

Sebastian who was still in the room only smiled faintly while looking to the side. He heard Duke's reply in a daze, Sebastian raising his eyebrows.

Actually, last night when dinner was over, Duke went straight to his room and picked up the files that were piling up and doing the job that was supposed to be for next week.

Sebastian asked me why Duke did the job? isn't that for next week?. And the Duke only gave an answer if according to him the work should not be delayed, after all if it is finished he will choose a lot of free time.

Sebastian thought hard, he remembered that this morning he had heard from another servant that the Duke and Duchess had had a fight.

So, Sebastian nodded his head understanding the situation. The Duchess must have kicked the Duke out and they slept apart then the Duke busied himself on the job to divert it. So, he works overtime. Maybe Duke's gonna be working all night?.

Sebastian held back his laughter silently, thinking it was funny.

While Sebastian was holding back his laughter, Sherlin was sitting leaning against the sofa.

The Duke glanced at Sebastian, he realized Sebastian was holding back a laugh and he exasperatedly told him to come out.

"Sebastian, get out." Said the Duke coldly.

Sebastian nodded obediently and bowed then came out.

Clamps.

The door closed quietly, the Duke approached Sherlin who was sitting on the sofa.

"Ekhem, is there really a need for my daughter to come night and night to her father's office?." The Duke cleared his throat and looked at Sherlin.

"Eum, it's dad. What...dad knows when the spirit summoning ceremony began?." Sherlin smiled clumsily.

Duke ber'oh'ria. Ah turns out so, his daughter asked about spirit summoning anyway. The duke then closed his eyes and recalled.

"Regarding the spirit summoning ceremony, recently father and other nobles have already held important meetings with the emperor and the temple elders. His summoning is still quite long, about a month old."

"You take it easy, my daughter, I make sure you don't get left behind and the preparation is all set. Just wait for time."

The smiling Duke looked at Sherlin warmly, he grasped her hand.

Sherlin nodded her head and hugged Duke. "Thank you, dad!."

"Yes, my daughter."

"Sherlin, you better get to your room and sleep. I'll finish my piled up work."

"W-did dad just kick me out??." Sherlin let go of her embrace and looked at Duke sharply.

"Hahaha, how is that possible?."

Sherlin sighed and then parted, she came out on her own.

The Duke stared nervously at Sherlin's departure.
