The War Of Hearts

The War Of Hearts
Chap 7 - Thrown to the Other World.

After Magani was sucked into the hole, the remaining of us began to follow in Magani's footsteps. My body floated without me, feeling resigned because it was conscious from the beginning of this decision I chose.

Entering the black hole I was previously afraid of, I felt like I was thrown into a space or passageway of time dimension. All the memories that have happened in the past; the memories of Mama, displayed randomly and slowly moved like a broken cassette.

I don't understand, strangely enough I shed tears. I think that all the memories of Mama will be erased or re-riset because I have to climb a new world, automatically I will lose my memory, right? At least that's what I'm afraid of.

A few minutes later, as those spinning memories began to fade, both of my eyes seemed to be forced shut. Then my mind blackened, the faint sound of wind blowing began to fade I heard.

And I'm starting to get unconscious.

I blinked, my sense of taste is already functioning. I was lying on a dry bed of leaves, my eyes wide staring at a stretch of sky that was almost dark.

I don't know where it is, don't know what time it is. But judging from the atmosphere and color of the sky, it felt like night was coming soon.

Slowly sitting my body, I nodded. I'm alone, where are my friends? But wait, I thought I was going to lose my memory, but I still remember them.

Lyman, Magani, Ethan, then Melvin. Yeah, I remember them all. I even remember why I was here. Also the memory of Mama is still stored neatly, every detail I do not forget in the slightest.

Inching from a sitting position, I stood up. My hands rubbed my body to remove the leaves that were stuck, and I realized that the clothes I was wearing were different from the ones I used before.

Like attending magic academy, I wore a knee-length jumpsuit dress with a white inside and a maroon-red vest. Then a thick robe complete with hood wrapped around my body, already like a witch, just lacking a stick.

I felt cool for a moment, but considering I still didn't know where my friends were making me anxious all of a sudden. I must not dwell here, lest I spend the night in the middle of nowhere forest that must be filled with wild animals.

Walking without direction, I only rely on instinct. I wish I could find a way out ahead that would lead me to my other friends.

I'm honestly a little scared. Afraid that I was the only one thrown into this world, while the others scattered somewhere.

Looking around, I still haven't found any difference from the world I was born into with this world I still don't know. Everything was the same, the forest where I first woke up, exactly the same as the forest I had met in the previous world.

When my legs started to ache, because for about an hour I kept walking, but I was still struggling in the forest without any sign that I could get out of here. And strangely enough, the sky that I thought was about to change at night had not changed.

I want to give up, I feel like I'm tired if I have to keep going without a clear goal. It's okay if in the end I have to spend the night in the forest, it's resigned if you have to be faced with a wild animal that wants to pounce.

So to unwind for a moment, I decided to sit back and lean on a shady tree that looked so comfortable and cool. A banyan tree with hanging tree roots that dangle moves gently in the wind.

Closing my eyes for a while, I enjoyed the fresh air from the gentle breeze that greeted the surface of the skin. Until finally, I was struck by something moving behind my back.

The surface of the tree trunk that I was running from was moving, more precisely like it was being twisted. When I opened my eyes and looked up to see what was happening, in the next second I glared with a heartbeat that stopped for a moment.

“Halo, sweet sister!”

“What's up? Why are you surprised? Are you perhaps the new inhabitants of this world?” tanyanya.

I could only nod without being able to give an answer. Still frozen in shock with what I saw right now.

Still do not think that I was really thrown into a fantasy world like a fairy tale world that I often dreamed of. Where trees can communicate with humans.

“Wah, what a coincidence. Then you must be picked up immediately,” he said which made me frown because I was confused.

I then asked to know more clearly, “Picked up soon? By who?”

My question has not been answered because suddenly an owl came and alighted on one of the branches of the banyan tree that was chatting with me.

“By me!” said the owl, from the banyan tree branch he flew in front of me.

Not just trees, but animals can talk. I was really amazed, because my desire to come to the world like this had already materialized.

Refocused staring at the shape of the owl, shortly a month of smoke appeared and covered the body of the bird. When the black smoke disappears from view, what is seen is another form.

A man dressed like a traveller— whom I believe was the owl was— facing me. Her long hair that covered her pointed ears managed to catch my attention.

The underwear he wore was army green, wrapped in a light brown coat that dangled to the thighs. His black pants showed the shape of his feet and the leather shoes he used covered his calves.

“Come with me,” take her with you while extending a hand.

I who do not want to come without knowing the clarity, of course reflex rewind the body as a defense response. “Where? I don't even know who you are.”

He bowed his body with one hand that he kept in his chest, so polite when he was about to introduce himself. “Include, my name is Fred. The forest guard. I've been looking for your existence before. And I finally found you here. The others I've found and they've been gathered waiting for you.”

Like seeing a glimmer of light at the end of a dark hallway, I felt instructed. I am happy to know my friends are in this world. But wait, is it true that ‘they’ that Fred means are my friends?

“Can you name one of the characteristics of them?” ask me to make sure.

“There is Lyman, his skin is darker than the others. There is Magani with a small body size and shorter, she is identical to her squinty eyes. And lastly Melvin, he was quiet and his skin was pale white,” Fred explained in detail, making the doubts in me crash instantly.

But if it's not wrong, I don't hear Ethan's name being called by him. Maybe I am the one who doesn't hear?

“What about Ethan? Is he not there?” ask me to come back while moving from a sitting position.

Fred replied with a look of confusion, “That's the problem. Ethan never existed in this forest or not even in this world. Ethan estimated..”.
