Year 1433
The wind blew when Uncle Ma shut the door of his house tightly, several times glancing at his wife who was busy exchanging the clothes of a girl who was still unconscious anxiously.
"Darling can you hurry up a little? Before they come to our house." Aunt Ma sped up her movements of swapping out the clothes of the girl before her in a slight panic.
" I'm trying, don't panic me." Aunt Ma slightly raised the volume of her voice when Uncle Ma's words only made Aunt Ma panic even more.
The door of the house was opened when several people entered while pushing Uncle Ma until the elderly man fell on the floor of his house. Uncle Ma glanced at his anxious wife, but then breathed a little relieved when she was done with her work. Uncle Ma was just kneeling with his wife as the men ransacked his household, taking whatever they thought was precious. Unfortunately, the farmhouse seems to have nothing.
"Who is lying behind you?" One of the men who seemed to have a higher rank than the other men asked Aunt Ma, who momentarily got a small nod from her husband.
"He was our only son, a few days ago he fell in the river while helping his father find fish." The man narrowed his eyes when he saw the pale face that had been trying to hide from Ma's aunt, the man violently pushed Aunt Ma and then approached the person whom Aunt Ma had been hiding behind her body.
The man frowned, when he saw the cross-sectional wound on the face of the person who was still asleep before him. His eyebrows slightly lifted when he watched the person for longer.
"You're sure this is your son, not your daughter?" The bodies of both spouses stiffened, if the man in front of him knew then their efforts would be in vain.
"Your son is too pretty for a man's size. But unfortunately the General is not interested in what other man with this terrible wound on his face." For a moment Uncle Ma breathed a sigh of relief as well as his wife. The man left intending to leave the small house but his steps were restrained and then looked sharply at Uncle Ma.
"But if you purposely hide your daughter, you'll know the consequences." Uncle Ma stiffened again but remained lowered in not daring to look at the person who was still looming before him.
After the man left, the others followed out with some loot from Uncle Ma's small house which they thought they could use. It was then that Uncle Ma and his wife could truly breathe a sigh of relief.
"We have to go back to Hanyang, the situation here is not safe, the Park family must understand if we return now." Uncle Ma drew closer to his wife and helped aunt Ma stand up, aunt Ma nodded in agreement but her gaze returned to the girl who was still asleep beside him.
"But what about this girl? He saved us both in the woods yesterday. If we leave him, he'll just be the giseng of those soldiers." Uncle Ma breathed in frustration, his wife was right she was not the one who would repay the good of others with evil.
"Well, this is how you pack things as necessary, I'll carry this girl. We need to move fast before those guys get back here." Aunt Ma nodded and began packing as necessary, as did Uncle Ma, who brought some supplies for the trip, as well as the money he had previously hidden before the soldier broke into his home. Without them realizing the girl who was lying down was beginning to wake up.
2016 Year
Kyuhyun once again wiped off the sweat on his forehead, grabbed the backpack on his back then picked up the mineral bottle inside the last backpack. For a moment Kyuhyun rested his body which he forced to walk from this morning until late afternoon. Kyuhyun was sure he had surrounded all possible areas for climbing, but the signs of Hagi's whereabouts had yet to be discovered, almost hopelessly actually considering this third day quest stated Hagi disappeared. Plus this was unprecedented, making him even more frustrated and confused. Confused because even if Hagi falls will certainly be easy to find, considering the climbing path is not a dangerous path. Frustrated because there was no sign of Hagi ever climbing here, like something left behind from Hagi. Kyuhyun had doubts if Hagi had indeed gone on a hike, but the climbing postman was convincing, if Hagi had been seen before the storm news came. Or maybe the sign of Hagi's existence has been erased by the storm to complicate the search.
Kyuhyun was indeed with Yesung at that time, even compared to others Kyuhyun who dared to break through the storm and ignore the warning about the storm, hoping he was not late no matter what happened to Hagi. But until the storm stopped Kyuhyun found no sign of Hagi.
Kyuhyun covered his face with both hands when frustration made him want to cry, he had not even had time to say anything to Hagi about his feelings. Too busy attracting the cold girl's attention despite ending up in disappointment because Hagi always forgets her. A hand on Kyuhyun's back distracted him.
"Calm down, he's gotta be somewhere, I'm sure he's gonna survive. Remember she's not a weak girl, she's my father's son, Kim's daughter." Yesung tried to comfort Kyuhyun, at least some comfort Yesung, his girlfriend Hyunmie always reassured Yesung about the existence of Hagi. But Kyuhyun did not, so he was the one who had to comfort Kyuhyun, because Yesung knew what kind of feelings Kyuhyun had for his sister Hagi. Six-year-old Kyuhyun tries to attract the attention of his friend, but somehow Hagi seems very difficult to know his best friend. Yesung knows Hagi is a very cold girl and does not care around, but Hagi is a genius girl, she will remember people even if only in one meeting.
Kyuhyun looked at Yesung heartily, if only Kyuhyun was as strong as Yesung, it was obvious that Yesung could still hide his emotions. But not with Kyuhyun, but he was so frustrated and sad that he had not found anything about Hagi's whereabouts.
"I know. Hagi was different from the other girls, but he did not bring anything while climbing. Don't you forget what Hyunmie said before? How did he survive?" Yesung went back to the sad breath, he still remembers when Hyunmie tidied up Hyunmie's suitcase neatly stored in the hotel, his lover helped clean up the contents of Hagi's suitcase before Hagi went to Jeju. So Hyunmie knew what Hagi had brought to climb and it wasn't enough to even last 1 day, and now Hagi had already disappeared for 3 days.
"I remember, but I'm sure I can hold on. You have to trust him, too." Once again Kyuhyun rubbed his face rough he wanted to believe in Hagi, at least he shouldn't be this frustrated.
"I'll repeat from above." Kyuhyun got up from his seat preparing to repeat the search.
"No Kyu, we're going back to the hotel. It's late at night, we can't take any chances." Yesung tried to prevent Kyuhyun, but again Kyuhyun was stubborn.
"No I still want to look for him, we can't waste any more time." Yesung gripped Kyuhyun's shoulder.
"Listen Kyu, I know you're worried I feel it too, but you have to think about your situation too, if you're sick you're the one who lost you can't look for it anymore. You think Uncle Cho will shut up if you get sick and force this search? And don't forget you've got nothing in your backpack." Kyuhyun exhaled weakly, what Yesung said was true. If his father finds out this quest is making him sick, Mr. Cho will drag him home right away. With a heavy heart the search today was stopped, again Kyuhyun was disappointed in himself for not being able to find anything about Hagi.
'Hagi_ya.. Where did you disappear?' Kyuhyun muttered inwardly, staring at the dense forest behind him.
