Chapter 168 (For the Good of Ayu)

Aldo turned the steering wheel of his car avoiding the reporters who had gathered in front of Malik's apartment. A day full of chaos. Ayu still didn't understand why they were turning the direction. The problem at Ayu's school already understood, but the crowd in front of Ayu's apartment still did not understand.

“Is there any more problem?” Ayu tries to find out even though she is afraid of the answer. Malik shook his head with a bitter-looking smile on his face.

“We stopped by Rey Al's. Looks like my stomach is starving. Are you hungry Al?” A joke that Ayu and Aldo could not understand.

“I….Yes Boss. Of course I'm hungry.” Aldo headed to Rey's restaurant as instructed.

“I really want to come to the Pure Ma'am place, I can't stop thinking about it since yesterday.” Ayu revealed her heart, rather than to Kak Rey's place, she was eager to find out the state of Pure.

“What happened at school today? Is it true that Brother Ferdinan resigned?” Malik nodded, everything just happened. “She completely left the place that had been filling the void of her life.” Rey was sad to hear the news that turned out to be true.

“But Papah did it with pride. She was happy to sacrifice for the daughter she loved.” Rey clenched her forehead not understanding. Malik nodded confirming his own words.

“What is this problem related to his past?” Malik threw out his heavy breath. “We may feel sad to see it, but this is what Brother Ferdinan expects. He really wants to get punished for what he did.” Malik grabbed Rey's hand, bracing Rey not to waver in this state.

“The problem doesn't stop here Rey. Now journalists are hunting for news about the scandal they created.” More complicated issues.

“This is related to my and Ayu's marriage. They think I'm dating an underage girl.” Rey took every word of Malik seriously. “They asked me to leave the underage girl I dated before this was bad for the company.” Rey ruffled her hair because her head suddenly felt hot.

Rey knows Ayu is furious, but Malik does all this to protect her feelings. Malik did his job as a husband very well. Rey got bothered by her feelings because all this time was not good enough to treat Ana. She is busy with her routine without paying attention to Ana's happiness.

“Don't be angry, he's so scared when you're not around.” Rey whispered in Ayu's ear. Ayu looked up at Kak Rey's honest-looking face. “He just wants you to be happy. Trust me. I even envy there are men who love you more than my love and Jofan to you.” Ayu hugged Rey again, this time Ayu regretted acting without considering Kak Malik's feelings.

“We can't see it now, doctor forbids anyone from entering because Pure needs recovery.” Malik approached Ayu and Rey who were still waiting outside the room.

Malik knew his smile was just pretend. He tries to believe nothing bad will happen to the people he cares about. Malik felt useless when he saw Ayu repeatedly suffering before him. Ayu shouldn't continue to suffer because Malik can't protect the people he cares about.
