The Campbell Corporation
When I was busy with my work, my attention was distracted by the talk of several employees who said that in the company of the arrival of a lover from CEO Campbell who was none other than Carla Queen Baker. At once the atmosphere of the office became quite excited, how not? A person who is becoming the lips of people is now even more courageous to show off their togetherness. I could see clearly how at the confident pace the woman named Carla stepped into Henry's study. His appearance always seemed perfect and flawless as if he deliberately wanted to show his high social status in public. Luckily, Carla didn't see me when she walked into the CEO's office, where Henry was there.
“You guys see that? Our CEO's girlfriend is spreading flowers. I'm sure in there they're both making out with passion.” Amelia, a senior staff member giggled in a low voice and spoke with Sandra and with several other co-workers near my desk.
“Of course, which man is not tempted by a woman like Carla Queen Baker, a beautiful supermodel and a brilliant career like her. Even our perfectionist CEO class men can be lured in,” senior staff man named Stephen chimed in.
“You are right Stephen, there is even a media that says if the two of them have been in contact for a long time, but because of the busyness of each of their relationships had been tenuous,” Anne also commented.
“Don't gossip here, it's lunchtime. We better chat outside and have lunch together,” Sandra then after glancing at the watch in her hand.
“Come, Angelina. You come with us.” Sandra invites me and who have since preferred to stay busy and focused on my work.
At first I was hesitant, because surely my ears would be hot with the chatter about Henry and Carla. However, I could not resist and had no choice but to finally agree to it, with the intention of leaving the office for a while to avoid Henry and his model lover. Why am I still here anyway? In one place where two lovebirds who might be in a romantic hangover are in that room.
As I thought in the company cafeteria, Sandra and my other two senior colleagues haven't stopped talking about Henry and Carla. I don't want to know prefer to be quiet and busy with my phone and food.
“Why have you been quiet since, Angelina? Are you not feeling well?” Sandra looked at me with a slightly anxious look.
“Yes, I've seen since you've been quiet a lot, Angelina. Are you okay?” added Anne, a senior staff finance officer sitting in front of me.
“I'm fine. You guys don't mind me too much here.” I responded by trying to be as normal as possible in front of them.
“Looks like I noticed that you have absolutely no interest in what our warm talk is about in this company, Angelina.” Amelia fished to see me with a questionable look.
“I? Sorry before, frankly I am not interested in things like that.” I reasoned while smiling faintly.
“Angelina is not interested in anything related to handsome men, let alone in class with our CEO, Mr. Henry Bastian Campbell,” Sandra confirms.
“Angelina has her own reasons, you don't need to know, Anne. Enough I know. Right so ‘kan, Angelina?” seloroh Sandra with a big smile full of meaning.
I just nodded back, the four of us laughed a little together.
An hour later as the four of us were on our way back to our study, either coincidentally or not me and my three co-workers came across the two people I avoided the most. Who else if not Henry and Carla? It was so clear to see Carla walking in Henry's hand with her possessive and haughty attitude. While Henry still stepped indifferently with his flat expression that he always displayed everywhere. However, even so, our views had met for a few seconds. I could still see it when Carla showed her surprised expression when she saw me. Not looking at my husband's girlfriend, I prefer to walk quickly with my three other friends, and don't mind how spontaneous and overt Carla's reaction was when she saw me.
“Gosh, did you guys just see how Miss reacted. Baker when we cross paths?” Anne commented.
“Yes, I saw it earlier. Very clearly visible,” Sandra said.
“Not us but Angelina. Miss. Baker was surprised to see Angelina. Isn't that right, Angelina? You must know that,”, sergeant Amelia, I can see her full of probing eyes as she looks at me this time.
“Angelina? How can?” Anne was confused.
“Maybe you and Miss. Carla Queen Baker knows each other, Angelina?” Sandra asked curiously.
“No, I don't know him at all. How could an ordinary woman like me know a Carla Queen Baker class woman?” denying answer. I tried to stay calm in front of the three of them, although I did not deny I was quite afraid if they would be suspicious of me.
“What Angelina said. Maybe Miss. Baker feels like you look like someone he knows,” Sandra argues.
“It could be, because in my eyes you are no less beautiful than a Carla Queen Baker class woman, Angelina.” Anne commented with her gentle style.
“You're too much, Anne!” I chimed in with as normal an attitude as possible even though I knew Amelia, somehow still looking at me suspiciously.
The one thing I think about with today's events, until when will I avoid and continue to deny as I do now? I admit I've enjoyed my job at Campbell Corporation quite a bit, even as an intern. However, as hard as I try to be ignorant or stupid, I still can't escape the shadow of Henry Bastian Campbell. So, what should I do if I continue like this? I can't imagine if my identity as Henry Bastian Campbell's contract wife would be exposed. If that's the case, then I'm finished as Angelina Louis, that's for sure.
