RECONCILIATIONS

Late at night, Samuel could not close his eyes for a moment. The man was incessantly staring at the beautiful face of his wife who was asleep beside him.

Samuel's back rubbed gently on Calista's sleeping face.

"S-ammy I'm sorry..."

There was a soft sound coming from Calista's lips. Both of his eyes were closed tightly, only his lips were softly spoken. His forehead also looks wrinkled indicating his feelings are not calm. Calista deliriously subconsciously called out her husband's name.

Samuel rubbed his wife's back gently. Calms her. Then gently kiss his wife's lips that feel cold. "Calm down baby I'm with you right now. I will never leave you and my son Cali, we will continue to be together" said Samuel clutching Calista's body tightly.

Calista blinked her eyelids slowly. There were birds chirping from outside her room on the second floor of her father's house in the Swiss city of Interlaken.

This morning Calista felt her body feel so good and fresh like it was yesterday.

Calista leaned her back on the end of the bed while gently rubbing her stomach. "Good morning dear" said Calista.

"You awake, baby?"

Calista turned her attention to the handsome figure she longed for carrying a tray of food and drinks into her room. It felt like Samuel's dream was near him at this moment.

Samuel put the tray in his hand on the nightstand.

"How are you and our son, hem?", asked Samuel so gently in Calista's ear.

Calista took pains to swallow his own saliva. Last night he was shocked to see Samuel coming in the dark. There wasn't much they talked about last night. Only apologies were given to both. He fell asleep on the couch and woke up in his room.

Calista lowered her head, there was a sense of awkwardness surrounding her heart at this moment. "I'm-I'm fine. My son is also good" Calista replied quietly without looking at Samuel.

"Our son!"

Samuel lifted his wife's chin. "Our son. We'll be together forever, Cali".

Calista looked at Samuel, who was just a few feet away from him. "But you'll never forget Amber if we're together, Sam. Amber will always be among us. I can't live with someone who doesn't love me and compare myself to the woman of my past" Calista said.

"You're wrong, Cali. I can accept the reality of my past. Your departure some time has awakened me. I can't live without you, baby".

Calista looked at Samuel with teary eyes.

"I'm sorry I hurt you. I didn't even realize you were sick at the time. Emotions rule me. The day before I met you, Nathan came into my room and told me that you only loved him. He also said you've taken advantage of my stupidity, you're married to me for covering up the true story of the back-to-back collision that caused Amber to die".

"When I arrived at your mansion, I was surprised to hear that Amber had donated her heart to you. I'm so mad at you, I don't know what. To be sure my heart was so hot to hear Nathan say, that you married me for wanting to make amends for you, not for wanting me".

"The next day, Gema told me that you were sick and possibly pregnant. I decided to meet you at your mansion. But it's too late. You're lost like you're swallowed up by the earth".

"When you left, I missed you so much, Cali. Not even once did I go to my office, I just spent my time painting your face. I was so frustrated I couldn't find you" Samuel looked at his wife with deep feelings.

Samuel's words really affected Calista, she clasped her husband's fingers tightly and brought them to her face.Then Calista brought the hand to her chest. "I decided to leave as soon as I knew the testpack results. I fear. I'm afraid you're gonna ask me to eliminate my son".

"Looking at your anger and resentment towards me, I was terrified at the thought of my son's fate" Calista said. "If you demand farewell to me, this is the only child I have from you, Sam. Only this child I have from you, the man I love so much with all my heart" Calista said expressing her feelings deeply as she rubbed her belly with tears.

Samuel pulled Calista's nape. He rinsed the lips of his wife who was sorely missed. "Don't ever get away from me again, baby. You left, you made me realize, how much I love you. We're gonna raise our son together, Cali. I will not be able to lose you again, Cali", Samuel said again to his lips Calista.

Calista opened her mouth and replied to the kiss with great emotion. "I miss you so much, Sammy. You don't know, so tormented is my heart away from you, baby".

The two kissed affectionately, channeling a longing that had stemmed all this time.

A little while later Calista stopped her kiss and looked at her husband's eyes.

"You know where I live here, and how you got into this house last night?"

"I'll make sure I don't break the law because I got the owner's permission to enter the house".

Calista widened both of his eyes, staring in full search. "You mean papa let you?"

"Who else. Your dad and I met in London, and Dad told me everything. He also arranged for me to come when they went to the lavender fields" Samuel said casually.

"Uhh.It turns out everyone betrayed me and cooperated with you. Don't tell me Katty's involved too", Calista's probes narrowed her eyes staring at her husband's full sight.

"of course. Your assistant told me what time I should come. As if nature approved of the idea, the lights went out" Samuel rubbed his neck.

"Don't tell me you did the power cut last night, too?"

"What your husband can't do, hem", Samuel replied as he lifted his wife's body into his lap.

"Since we are already in this beautiful city, we use it for honeymoon again. I'm sure our son won't mind. "But before I want to see my son first, I'll take you to control your womb. I'm sorry I've spent some time not with you taking care of your pregnancy, baby. Now I won't miss it again" Samuel said.

Calista smiled at her husband's words. "My gestational age has entered four months. I'm lucky that your son doesn't trouble his mommy. I feel unwell only in the morning, the same day you know it all" Calista put her hand around her husband's neck.

"Now I'm so hungry Sam. During my pregnancy, I had no na*su to eat. Don't know why, you near me makes me hungry".

Samuel smiled at her. The man lifted up his wife's body and took a tray of food on the nightstand. "Now eat. After that it's my turn to devour you...!"
