A black SUV drove down a muddy road amid the shade of bamboo trees. Angga sat on the steering wheel, concentrating on the uneven road. Angel was in the back seat guarding the helpless Mr. Burhan. Only his old eyes were able to move watching around, his hands and feet were still numb.
"If you lie to us, just look, there is your life I make sure it is full of pain" Angga threatened. His eyes stare at Mr. Burhan through the middle glass of the car cabin.
The car that Angga was driving came out from the rural streets. Passing the path of the subdistrict shaft that feels smoother. The car no longer shakes, it feels comfortable. The dog also increases speed. His chest was beating faster. However there were many questions in his mind, there was a deep longing for the Mother.
"If it's true that Mom is at the address you said, then I've been very close to her all along. Goddamnit! A life game that's not funny!" Anga looks emotional. He gripped the steering wheel tightly.
Angel just kept quiet and didn't say. His mind was far away. He felt relieved, soon his brother's goal would be achieved. But Angel was worried too. His life all this time was only to help the Big Brother. Then once the goal is achieved, what should Angel do? Suddenly the shadow of Wildan's face flashed through his mind.
"Ah, why should the gobl*k?" murmured Angel was upset.
"What's Ngel?" ask Angga curious. He heard his sister mocking him indistinctly.
"Ah, not important," said Angel briefly. He stuttered slightly with a dead red face. Angga ignored it, and continued to drive the car at high speed. Without realizing it, there are other cars that are trailing.
Fifteen minutes passed. The car driven by Angga has entered the downtown area. The road is quite dense, so Angga slows down the speed of his vehicle. Pass the square and turn towards the police station. And finally the car stopped in front of a simple house right behind the police station.
Light green paint house, with mango trees manalagi on the front page. A car parked under a tree. On the front porch, a shabby banner reads 'Warung Sego Pecel Mak Sulastri'. But it looks like today the stall is not operational. The atmosphere looks quiet from the outside.
"This is Bang's house?" ask Angel for doubt.
"He changed his identity to Sulastri. Sulastri is Ms. Melati, your mother" Mr. Burhan assured. Angga hit the car dashboard. He's feeling pissed.
"Damn it! If you speak the truth, it means that Mother has been very close to me, to my workplace," Angga said with a trembling voice.
"I was yesterday, before coming to the office was able to stop here," continued Mr. Burhan.
"Let's go see Ibu Ngel," said Angga.
"What about her?" Angel pointed at Mr. Burhan.
"Let him wait here" Angga replied indifferently. Angel nodded and opened the car door first.
Angga and Angel walked hand in hand into the shady and cold courtyard of the house. When they arrived at the terrace right in front of the entrance, they saw two elderly men in the living room who looked engrossed in conversation. Seeing the arrival of Angga and Angel, the two old grandfathers exchanged glances in silence. Their expressions looked strange.
At that moment from inside the house, an old woman appeared who was carrying a tray containing two cups of coffee. Angga and the old woman looked at each other in silence. The old eyeballs seemed to tremble for a moment.
"Sorry, the stall is closed today" said the old woman with a smile that seemed forced.
"Don't pretend you don't know me asshole!" Angga snapping. Angel just shut up.
"Hey why yell at your parents?" The fat man sitting in the living room chair said.
"Shut up! I have nothing to do with a decrepit like you. Or, wait . . .don't you guys be Clowns number 9 and 10?"
The Angga's guess is correct. The two grandfathers who were sitting relaxed were Jumani and Nuryanto. Hearing Angga's question, Jumani seemed agitated. His face turned deathly pale.
"Have you finished off the clowns? Don't act stupid. This place is very close to the police station. If you act recklessly, endangering us, I'll make sure you're in custody!" nuryanto Ancam. He looks more courageous than Jumani.
"It's not Nur. She is a police officer," said the old woman, putting a tray in her hand on the table.
"So, you know that I'm a police officer?" Angga glared in disbelief.
"You enter. We'll talk in front of the tv. Emm, is this pretty girl Angel?" old lady smiling kindly.
Angel is silent. He doesn't know how to behave. If from the words of Angga, Angel believes the woman who is now in front of him is Bu Melati, his mother. Angel had never met. Since the baby she was cared for by Bu Seruni, her Mother Nilla. So, Angel did not feel like he had any ties. The old woman felt foreign to him.
"What does Pastri mean?" tanya Nuryanto did not understand what was going on.
"They are both sons of my daughter Nur. Angga, a 5-year-old boy who fell asleep in his room, as you lifted the safe from Sumiran's room. As well as Angel who was only a few months born from my womb, but I had to leave it to Mbak Seruni when the robbery plan was prepared," replied the old woman who is often called Mak Lastri.
Nuryanto closed his mouth. He was speechless hearing Mak Lastri's explanation.
"Corn, comein. It seems like there are many things you want to ask," asked Mak Lastri kalem. He walked into the middle room. Angga and Angel followed.
Now the three of them sat face to face in the rattan chair in front of the tv. A round table made of teak wood glued with dark chocolate is in the middle. On the table there is a jar of fried beans that look big.
Mak Lastri was sitting cross-legged staring at the two people before him. The woman looks beautiful at her old age. Her beauty did not fade despite being slightly covered in wrinkles and wrinkles on the forehead.
"Now my name is Lastri. The pecel salesman behind the police station that's my job. My life is simple, but it is this kind of life that I have wanted for a long time" Mak Lastri said.
"Damn it! We were this close, but I never realized it. Even during the break, some friends often tell about this place. Rice is cheap and delicious, he said. Turns out the seller was the guy I'd been looking for a dozen years." Angga breaking table.
"Now answer me, Mom or call me Mak Lastri, explain to me why you dumped me? Throw Angel away, throw us away! Huh huh? Why?!" The dog looks very emotional.
