Against the Inevitable Destiny

Against the Inevitable Destiny
Chapter 31 - Soul of Riyu

[Training Room, 1 Hour Later ]

Let's flashback for a second.

What have we been doing for the past 2 years?

Simply put, me, Mei and Yami had quite intense training in terms of combat whereas Sho focused on the science of medicine. For Shio I don't know.

Let's start from May.

At first I taught some sword techniques to Mei. And after basically enough, he practiced to improve his strength, reaction, and agility in the simulation room.

In his practice, he is very quick to learn, especially in using the Katana.  He's the same as me who seems to have mastered the katana before.

When I asked him if he had ever used a Katana or not, he said no. But, he felt it was natural for him as if he had fought using a Katana before. Well, I just assumed that he was a genius even though my feeling of saying it was wrong.

As I felt his energy, I began to teach him how to use it. And he quickly adapted even though his control and amount of energy were still lacking.

With the help of the Purple Lightning Sword, he had an extremely fast speed. Maybe it's worth my speed when I'm not using my energy. Well, that's amazing considering that I've been practicing for quite a while.

His lightning energy allowed him to cripple his enemy. He could also release energy, concentrating it so that he could cut through something easily.

As for Yami himself, though,

He already had the basis of fighting so I told him to train in the simulation room (alone). There he can hone his experience. Sometimes I beat-up ahem intent on training him myself and giving him some advice.

I told her the existence of the dark energy she had.

At first, he was quite surprised. After that, he calmed down because he had vaguely felt that energy from his family as well. The reason why his family didn't tell him, was probably because it wasn't the time yet.

For Sho

He practiced fighting only for a short while as he fully studied medicine.

During that one year, I knew what kind of energy he had. He had a type of Special Energy, more precisely, a type of Soul Energy.

As I said, Unique Energy is not omnipotent. Just because a person has a type of Soul Energy, does not mean that the person can have absolute control over the life or soul of another person.

Well, I don't know if it's at its peak, but clearly, Sho has little control over his energy, at least for now.

His ability is in something of a spiritual nature, such as the soul and mind. It also affects something that is alive as in plants and animals. He might be able to control plants or tame animals with his power.

He used it mainly for treatment. He could accelerate the growth of the plant so that he could make a wide variety of medicines, either as a cure or to increase strength.

Sho is not a doctor. If in medicine he would be called a pharmacist, but if in novels and games he would be referred to as an alchemist. Let's just call it alchemist because it looks cooler.

……

“Riyu, Sister Maya bullied me. Hiks.” Shio hugged my arm, trying to look pathetic.

Well, for this fallen angel, she was trained by Maya directly.

The reason is pretty obvious, they have the same type of energy, which is Light. I don't know if Maya also taught him combat, but from what I've seen she trained him more as a Support.

“I can't do anything even if you tell me that.”

I said tiredly to Shio.

I'm not trying to get away from him.

Because I like her? No, otherwise this would be a problem for me.

Well, the real reason is because my feelings and my body told me not to.

Is this just an excuse? Please believe me.

“At least persuade him not to be too hard. Hiks hiks.”

Shio tried to look even more miserable..

“Hah..”.

I sighed and then turned to look at Maya.

Guess what his reaction was?

Fizzy cheeks. He tried to stay calm by turning around and leaving us.

Is he ashamed? I don't know.

From the moment I gave her the wound, she suddenly turned 180 degrees by becoming a shy girl.

For an adult woman to behave like that, I don't know what I'm doing, honestly.

It's not like he has an oath to marry someone after defeating him right? Obviously not, because I just gave him a little cut.

“Great, Riyu. How can you make sister Maya like that? What did you do to him?"

Shio became excited. He asked the question with great curiosity.

Where's the sad girl?

“Could..”.

His face was getting closer to me so people would probably think we were going to kiss.

Damn, this angel has really fallen. Who made it like this?

“Me, argh.”

I groan in pain.

Wh why? Clearly, dark purple lightning struck me, rendering me paralyzed for a while.

I looked towards Mei who looked angry.

‘Already expected, it will be like this.’

……

……

“Sho there is something I want to talk about.”

I approached Sho who was sitting quietly, taking care of the various plants in front of him. He might be trying to concoct a drug or something like that.

“?”

“Can you send your energy to me?”

I asked him.

I want to make sure something about my soul.

This is related to my memories before I was in the void. It's just my feeling, but I'm sure there's a big secret about it all.

If indeed my memory had not been erased from my soul, and I had a chance to recover it, that would be a very good thing.

What is the connection between soul and memory? Maybe people think that memory is only related to the brain, it may be physically true, but in the concept of spirit, the soul also stores memories, more precisely covering thoughts and also feelings (personality).

Well, no need to think about it.

“Do your soul have any problems?”

“Not that. I have special circumstances. It may be related to my mind and soul so I think at least your energy will affect me.”

I gave him a reason. Well, it's not like I lied or anything because I do have special circumstances.

“I still can't control my energy, so maybe it won't affect much.”

Sho said a little doubtfully.

“No problem, just send your energy to me I will handle the rest.”

“Good.”

Grey colored energy came out from Sho's hand then came towards me. I just absorb it then put it on my soul, hoping that my soul will absorb it and repair itself if it breaks down or the like.

I just felt Sho's energy coming then nothing happened. Imagine a ball surrounded by energy, just gathered there, with no change.

“?”

“How?”

I asked Sho because he seemed to realize something.

"It's weird, I can't interact with your soul at all."

“What do you mean?”

“When I try to interact with the souls of others, at least I have access to that soul. I can at least interact and influence that soul. If in the case of plants, I might even control them because their souls are not alive.”

“Then what about my soul?”

“I have no access at all. As if your soul is sealed or tightly sealed.”

“So so.”

I understand what he's saying. My soul is inaccessible. It makes me not know if there is a problem or not.

“I want to try to see your soul. I might be able to understand a little what happened.”

Sho asked me for permission.

I thought for a moment. It's not a trivial thing considering my soul is a bit different.

“Can only. But if there's anything strange, pull your energy straight away. Don't delay it!”

I tried to warn him.

I didn't threaten him or anything, it's just that my feelings said that this would be a little dangerous for him.

“Good.”

He came to me, put his index finger on my forehead, then the same energy earlier came directly.

He closed his eyes. After that, then,

“Ugh.”

Sho retracted his energy, then he held his head, looking dizzy.

“You're good - okay?”

“I'm fine.”

After Sho calmed down enough, I began to ask him what he was feeling.

He began to explain what he saw and felt. There was simply no important information as he instantly withdrew his energy.

As he said before, there is something strange in my soul and if he wants to see my soul, then it is likely that he will be severely injured.

“Alright, no need to think about it. Thank you for trying to help me.”

I left Sho in his room.

After seeing me off, Sho muttered,

“What was that?”

……

……

Without Riyu noticing, a small crack occurred in her soul. It was like a snake that wanted to shed its skin, only that it happened to its soul. Moreover, the crack was so small that anyone could ignore it.
