Bonchap: The Great Wave

Five years have passed since the departure of Teddy and Rahma. Wisdom's family life continued as usual. According to Rahma's last message, all the family still love each other and take care of each other. So did Jojo and Adinda. They had no family, so Wisdom was their only family.

The same goes for Kevin and Miss. After both his parents and in-laws died, only his brothers and the Wisdom family were his family. Both often follow a routine group of all Wisdom families held once a month. For the meeting place, they chose the residence of Teddy and Rahma which is now occupied by Anfa and her family.

All the grandchildren of the couple have grown up. Kenzie is now 18 years old and has enrolled as a sophomore. He chose the same campus where his father studied. In addition to formal education, Abi also galvanizes the young man at home. He taught Kenzie how to manage the company, deal with clients, negotiate and make decisions in times of crisis. Not to forget Abi also taught to always be sensitive to analyze the situation around him, including how to deal with people who might be the enemy.

Sometimes Nina often protested against her husband. He felt Abi was putting too much weight on his eldest son. As a mother, she wanted Kenzie to live out her youth like any other child. Not just struggling with lessons or company. Nina is afraid that Kenzie is too happy with his activities to forget how to have fun, including relationships with the opposite sex.

Kenzie himself did not mind what Abi did to him. He realized as the firstborn, certainly has a big responsibility to take care of the family and take care of the company later. Actually Abi also gave her freedom to get along with anyone, including relationships with women. Provided that the young man remains responsible and does not violate religious or sacrilegious norms.

But Kenzie himself is still reluctant to establish a relationship with the opposite sex, although many women are competing to be his lover. For him currently dating is not something important to do. He had also yet to find a woman who could make his heart tremble.

This morning, Nina had just cleaned up the clothes that Abi was going to bring. The man will review the project that is in the works. The location of the project itself is outside the island of Java, so it will take quite a long time to review it. After putting the clothes in the suitcase and making sure no one was missed, Nina approached the husband who was dressed. Nina confirmed the collar of the shirt Abi was wearing.

“About how long did mas go?”

“At most weeks.”

“I will definitely miss the same mas,” Nina hugged her husband's waist.

“Mas too,” Abi kissed the top of his wife's head.

“Iya darling. You're also careful, dab the kids with you. If there is anything quickly contact Kak Juna, Cakra or Anfa.”

“Back later, we're on vacation with the kids.”

Nina nodded her head. Then she broke her embrace, then looked at the face of her husband who, although not young anymore, was still handsome in her eyes. I don't know why she felt so hard to let go of her husband this time. Abi brought his face closer and landed a kiss on his wife's lips for a moment both of them dissolved in a soft kiss full of love.

Abi ended his kiss and then came out of the room with Nina. His left hand was dragging the suitcase while his right hand was hugging his wife's waist. Mr. Dadang, the driver of his family, immediately took a suitcase from Abi to put in the car. The two continued walking towards the dining room.

At the dinner table, Kenzie, Freya and Kenan were already waiting. They are also ready to go to their respective destinations. Kenzie is going to college, Freya and Kenan are going to school. Freya is now in 1st grade SMU and Kenan 1st grade Junior High. Abi and Nina immediately joined at the dining table.

“Papa go where?” ask Freya. The habits of the child since childhood have not changed. He always asked where his father would go if not to the office.

“Ke Padar island. Papa would like to review the project there.”

“That Padar Island where pa?” ask Kenan.

“In NTT, neighbor island Komodo.”

“Wah means a lot of Komodo dragons are also there?”

“Ngga.. there are no Komodo dragons there. It's just an empty island. Papa got the right to manage the island there so that Padar island is more beautiful and become a world tourist destination.”

“When I want to go there ya pa,” exclaimed Kenan again.

“Bby. Later if various facilities have been built there, including the ease of access to reach beautiful places there have been awakened, we vacation there.”

Abi just smiled at the behavior of his youngest child who is so similar in face to him. But Kenan's personality is warmer than Kenzie who tends to be cold. But the words that come out of his mouth are sometimes no less spicy than the brother.

“Ken.. papa tipped mama with your sisters yes,” Abi look at Kenzie who had just quietly enjoyed his breakfast.

“Hmm.”

“Ham.. hem.. ham.. hem. which is clear by the way,” Freya quipped but not liked by Kenzie.

“Nan.. let's finish your breakfast,” scolds Nina.

Kenan ate his breakfast again. Abi just shook his head. His three children often argue. Let alone Kenan, he was the most nosy among the others. There are only words or actions that often make both brothers upset.

Abi prepared to leave after finishing his breakfast. Before heading to the airport, she will deliver her two children first. Freya and Kenan attend the same school. While Kenzie went to campus using his favorite sport bike.

Nina escorted the children and her husband to the porch. Her three children kissed the back of her hands in turn. Then Kenzie kissed Abi's back. Without saying much, the young man immediately got on his motorcycle then sped away. Freya and Kenan get in the car, giving their parents time to say goodbye.

Abi hugged the wife for a while, then kissed her forehead affectionately. Nina still wrapped her hands around her husband's waist. She refused to let her husband go. Abi rubbed Nina's cheek slowly. Perhaps due to the long travel distance, Nina was as heavy as taking it off.

Abi was busy capturing the beautiful scenery on the island of Padar from a height. Padar Island is in the Komodo National Park area, located adjacent to the island of Komodo, only limited by the Leech strait. Padar Island is one of the tourist destinations frequented by tourists in the country and abroad.

This island presents a natural exoticism that is no less beautiful than other islands in Indonesia. For hiking enthusiasts, this island can be used as a recommendation. Because the topography of the island is steep with volcanic mountains in the sea steep hills facing deep sea bays.

The company was appointed by the local government to add facilities and access roads that make it easier for visitors to explore the island. For self-management, it will be a joint management with the local government. Of course, it will also open up jobs for the surrounding population.

Abi continued walking towards the top of Padar hill. The road to the top whose slope is almost 45 degrees is a challenge to get there. Even though the stairs have been built to make it easier, it still takes more effort to enjoy the view from the top of the hill.

Abi has been on this island for three days. Every day he had to travel from Labuan Bajo using a fast boat which took about three hours. Seeing the process of building the island went smoothly, Abi decided to return to Bandung and handed over supervision to one of his employees who were indeed responsible for this project.

Fadil who accompanied Abi during the review of the project approached his boss who was sitting looking at the sky that was moving in the afternoon. He reported that the ship that would take them to Labuan Bajo had arrived. Together with Fadil, the man went down the stairs.

The wind blew quite hard when Abi also Fadil got on the fast boat. After all, get on the boat. The captain started the engine. Slowly the ship left Padar Island.

Abi stood on the deck looking at the sky that looked cloudy. The wind blew quite strong and the water wave seemed to start rising. One of the crew asked Abi to come inside because the weather seemed to be getting hostile. Moreover, they had just taken half the journey.

The longer the wind blows the louder. The sea water is also surging. Fadil held his stomach which felt nauseous because the ship was bobbing to and fro. On the outside of the ship, it appears that the deck has been wet hit by sea water that began to rise the waves.

The captain tried his hardest so that the ship he was driving did not lose balance. Some crews give life jackets to passengers in order to keep bad things that may happen. Abi quickly also Fadil wearing a life jacket on his body.

The wave of water is getting higher and bigger making the ship boarded by Abi more adrift. Water has even entered the cabin. The ship's captain continued to try to hold the ship in a stable condition. But suddenly a large wave occurs then hit the ship, the water roll makes the ship enter the water wave.

The force of the water hit makes the windows broken. Water began to gush in. Passenger's body slammed when the ship was in reverse position. Their bodies were thrown out of the ship, including Abi and Fadil. The cry for help was heard from the mouths of those who were now in the middle of the ocean. But their voices were swallowed by the swift flow of water.

A crew member was still trapped inside the ship. He tried to get out but it didn't work. His body sank with the ship he was on. Abi tried to grab the fragments of the ship to support his body. Similarly to others, they reach for whatever is near them.

Abi looked to the right and to the left, trying to find the people who had been with him. Their positions with each other are quite far apart. The man tried to approach Fadil who was several meters apart from him. Seeing Abi who was trying towards him, Fadil also did the same. Amidst the strong water waves, the two tried to get closer.

Only a little more Abi can reach Fadil, suddenly a big wave comes back to hit. The big wave rolled up whatever it went through. Abi tried to avoid the waves that soon reached his place.

“Pak ABIIIII!!!!!”

Fadil's loud screams rang out as Abi's body was swept away by the waves and carried away by a roll of water. Fadil who was only hit by a small wave tried to get closer. But when the waves subside, Abi's body disappears. The man looked to the right and left while continuing to shout Abi's name but Abi's figure disappeared somewhere.

The glass in Nina's hand suddenly dropped. The goddess who was ironing clothes, rushed over to Nina. Seemed his employer was picking up broken glass scattered on the floor.

“Why bu?”

“Ngga nothing Dew, ouch,” Nina's finger scratched while picking up one of the shards of the shard.

“Already ma'am, let me be the same aja.”

The goddess immediately took over the job. Nina cleans the wound in the shower and then sucks the blood that is still out. Hurry up he took the medicine box and wrapped the wound with plaster.

After treating her wound, Nina looked for her cell phone that was in the room. At first glance he saw a clock on the wall that showed four o'clock in the afternoon. Usually at this hour Abi has contacted him. Her husband always called her when he got back to Labuan Bajo. The time difference between Bandung and Labuan Bajo is one hour. This means that it is five o'clock in the afternoon.

Nina wiped her phone screen and immediately made a call to her husband. But the call is connected to the voice box. Nina called Abi back but remained disconnected. He put his cell phone back, he thought Abi was still on his way home from Padar island. He went back to the kitchen to prepare dinner.

An hour later, Nina called her husband again. The result is unchanged, the call is only connected to the voice box. Her heart began to worry, but Nina kept trying to think positively. She then tried to contact Fadil, but it turned out that her husband's secretary's phone was also inactive. Nina's starting to feel bad.

Freya who had just come down the stairs looked confused at her mother who was walking back and forth like an iron. The girl almost fell down when Kenan suddenly surprised her from behind. Annoyed, he grabbed his sister's head.

“Ma..” reprimand Kenan.

“Iya Nan,” replied Nina.

Ten minutes later Nina gets word from Beno that Abi's phone was last tracked in the Sape strait. Nina's feelings are increasingly unsettled, she finds out the last conditions around Labuan Bajo or the Komodo islands. Nina's body stiffened when she saw a news post that had just come in. The post reported about a large wave that suddenly occurred in the strait of Sape.

Nina's feelings grew more upset when she saw Juna, Cakra and Anfa came together to her house. Their faces showed tension. Nina quickly approached the three as she entered the terrace.

“Mas Abi no news. Do you guys know anything?”

“Nin..”

Juna did not continue his words, he was confused how to convey the shocking news he had just received. One of Abi's subordinates in Labuan Bajo had just said that the ship that was boarded by Abi was hit by a large wave. Only Fadil and a few other people were found to be SAR members. While Abi, according to Fadil's confession was lost when swept by the waves.

“Kak.. mas Abi, where is he?” ask Nina again. Juna did not have time to open his voice, suddenly Freya shouted from the direction of the middle room.

“Mama!!”

Hearing Freya's cry, Nina rushed over followed by the others. Freya was standing, her hands pointing at the television. Tears flowed from both eyes. Nina's views turned to television that was airing breaking news. Nina's life seemed to float when reading the text on the screen.

A HUGE WAVE STRUCK THE STRAIT OF SAPE, SINKING THE PASSING SHIP. CEO OF METRO EAST IS REPORTED TO BE MISSING IN THE WAVES.
