Jojo got out of his car and entered the guesthouse. His eyes were fixed on a white sign that contained the writing of Meniti Harapan Orphanage. The net looked around, a beautiful garden equipped with children's games was in the front yard.
Jojo came to this orphanage. From the results of the investigation of his men, it is known that Nina lived and grew up in this orphanage. He hopes to find something that can make him take Nina from Abi. Jojo was quite surprised to know the building of the orphanage he visited was the result of Abi's donation. He and his family are also regular donors to the home.
You are still the same as before Bi. Do anything for the woman you love. That's good for you, the more you love Nina, the more I want to take her away from you. You must suffer.. Anka. I will avenge your heartache.
Jojo's daydreams are broken when a ball hits his leg. He lowered his head and took the ball near his feet. A 10-year-old boy approached and asked for the ball. Jojo gave the ball away. His eyes continued to look at the child who was moving away. He played ball with his two friends.
Jojo looked at the three boys who were playing the ball. Seeing them reminded him of the happy times he had with Abi and Cakra. They often play together, fight, fight but then get along again.
Jojo also recalls how his two best friends continued to be beside him when his beloved father died. At that time, he was in the 1st grade of High School. Abi and Cakra continued to accompany and comfort him. Even Abi presents mosaic paintings of himself with the papa. Until now the painting is still on the wall of his room.
If only you admitted your actions and apologized, I would forget about the incident Bi. But you're too cowardly, and even now you still deny it.
Jojo was struck when a clap landed on his shoulder. Cakra came and stood beside him. For a moment the two men were silent, they were busy with their respective thoughts. Lidya who was accompanying a couple who was about to adopt one of her foster children around, accidentally looked at Cakra as well as Jojo. His forehead creased as he looked at Jojo, he was like a stranger to that face.
Lidya's daydreams are spoiled when her guest asks her to speak. Lidya refocused on her guests and invited her into her room. Sometimes he still looked at Jojo while trying to remember where he had seen that face.
“Gue please stop Jo. Do not do anything that will make you regret,” Cakra opens the conversation.
“Lo ngancem me?”
“Defense and hatred you have no reason. It wasn't Abi who raped Anka. Anka called Abi after the rape, I was there and I went with Abi to pick Anka up. He's not Jo.”
“Then according to lo, Anka lied?”
“Try thinking clearly Jo. Maybe Anka was threatened by the real culprit.”
“Anka save Abi watches. A watch she never wore. He left the watch while raping Anka. Open your eyes, Cak! He is bajing*n and elo have been cheated raw with him!”
“He lost that watch!”
“Yes she lost where she asked*Aka!”
“Ngga maybe he did Jo! He was with me all day. How can he perk*sa Anka! Open your eyes Jo!”
“Don't he have time to leave for two hours from the office? He's got enough time to do that Cak.”
“Lo has blinded Jo's revenge. Abi is our best friend, he loves everyone around us, including Anka. Do you think he can do that depraved act? Think of it Jo! And I ingetin lo lo, do not try to hurt Sekar or you will face me!”
“Don't tell me that you managed to conquer that girl. Hahaha. Turns out that girl who was the obstacle to getting you. Stop blocking my way, or you'll be dealing with me too.”
“Please let me know if you can. The one that must be lo inget, the only thing that makes Abi still have not done anything because he still considers elo his best friend. Don't lure him Jo. You know very well how Abi.”
Cakra patted Jojo on the shoulder and left his best friend. Jojo's jaw hardens upon hearing Cakra's speech. His hatred deepened for Abi. His heart was determined to destroy Abi despite his life.
Jojo steps into the building, but his steps are stopped when his phone rings. Jojo undoes his intentions after getting a call from one of his men. He turned around and rushed to his car.
Meanwhile Lidya who had finished talking to her guests was still stunned behind her desk. He kept trying to dig into his memories of the man he saw with Cakra.
Lidya took an album containing old photos from inside the closet. One by one, the album sheets were opened. Suddenly his hand stopped when he saw a photo of a girl who was so similar to the man he had seen earlier. Lidya took out a photo from the album and looked at it fixedly.
“Iya. it's true he's the boy. I should be familiar with his face. Ooh Anka, I finally found your sister.”
Lidya picks up her phone then contacts Cakra, unfortunately her call switches on the voice box. Once again the woman tried to contact, but again the machine operator who answered her. Lidya then contacted Nina, hoping through her Lidya could meet the man she had been looking for for for years.
Lidya put the phone to her ear. There was a connecting tone, but Nina had not answered her call. On the fourth ring Nina answered her call.
“Halo bu.”
“Halo Nina's. What mom bothers?”
“Ngga mom. What's up?”
“Can you go to the parlor? There's something you want to ask.”
“Today I can't ma'am. How about the day after tomorrow?”
“Ya is okay. Mom wait ya.”
“Iya bu.”
Lidya ended her call. He reinserted Anka's photo into the album and then saved the album to its original place. Lidya got up from her seat, now she headed to her room. Lidya opened the closet and took out a box from inside. He took the box to the bed.
Lidya sat down and began to open the brown box. Inside there are several photos of Anka smiling with the children of the orphanage. Lidya's thumb rubbed the smiling face of Anka. Although only a week to know the girl, but Lidya already likes it. Unfortunately the girl suddenly disappeared after handing this box to her. A month later Lidya got word that Anka was dead. The girl ended her life by slashing her wrists while soaking in the bath tub.
Lidya looked at the contents inside the box that Anka had left on her. The box contained photographs of Anka during her time at the parlour, a videotape and a usb. Anka tells her to give this box to her brother, Jojo.
Lidya took a photo of Anka and held her tightly. Lidya reminisced about her meeting with Anka three years ago.
The Flashback
Lidya just got home from the market. When he was about to enter the house, he saw a girl walking in an uncertain direction. Lidya approached the girl who was sitting daydreaming in the trotar. The woman sat beside him.
“What's right here? Are you lost?”
The girl just shook her head. Lidya took out a bottle of mineral water and gave it to the girl. For a moment the girl fell silent then reached out her hand taking the bottle from Lidya's hand. Sipping water in a bottle without leaving it.
“You are coming with mom to go inside?” lidya Tawar.
The girl saw Lidya's hand movements. Then his gaze turned on the old building right behind him. In front of the house there is an old sign that reads Meniti Harapan Orphanage. Lidya touched the girl's hand and then took her inside the parlor.
Lidya's arrival is welcomed by the orphanage's children. Lidya took out the wet cakes she bought at the market. The children immediately scrambled to take the snack. The girl's smile rattled at the commotion of the children fighting over food.
“What's your name?”
“Anka.”
“Beautiful name, Anka. You are here first yes, mom wants to cook first.”
“Can I help?”
“Of course, come.”
Since that day Anka always came to the orphanage. He spent a lot of time playing with the children. Every morning and evening a man would come to pick her up. According to Anka, the man was her stepfather. Lidya never interacted with the man. He was just waiting for Anka in the car.
It did not feel almost a week Anka visited and spent in the orphanage. That afternoon before returning home, Anka met Lidya in her room. The girl gave him a brown box.
“Mother..maybe this is my last day here.”
“Why? You want to go?”
“Iya ma'am. Thank you for receiving me well. I am happy to be able to spend the days with my mother and sisters in the orphanage.”
“Mother is also happy to know you.”
“Bu.. Can I drop something?”
Anka handed the box in her hand to Lidya. For a moment Lidya looked at the box in her hand. The box contains photos, video tapes and usb. Lidya looked towards Anka.
“Please give this to my brother, Jojo.”
“Jojo?”
“Iya ma'am. A year after today, please pass this box to Jojo. Have him look at the contents in the video and hear the footage on the usb. If you don't mind, please take this box to my house. But Jojo must accept it immediately. Can you do it?”
“Iya son, In Shaa Allah mother will convey your mandate.”
“Thank you ma'am. In the box is my home address. Jojo is my twin brother, his face is the same as mine, only he's a boy. I'll definitely recognize him right away if I meet him.”
“Iya son. You're really going to go?”
“Iya ma'am. Thanks again for all the kindness of my mother. All the good memories here I will always remember for the rest of my life.”
Anka hugs Lidya. Somehow Lidya felt the girl in front of him was saying goodbye. Anka let go of her embrace and then approached the children of the orphanage who were watching television. Hugged their one-on-one, as if he was going far away.
Not long papa stepdad Anka pick up. Anka stared long at Lidya as well as the orphanage children before getting into the car. He waved his hand towards Lidya.
Since that day Anka never came to the home again. A month later Lidya got word that the girl had died. She was found lifeless in the bathroom while soaking in the bath tub. Anka died of blood loss after accidentally slashing her wrist.
According to Anka's mandate, a year later Lidya came to Anka's residence to meet Jojo. The family moved to Singapore a month after Anka's death. Lidya tries to find Jojo's whereabouts, but nil. He decides to keep Anka's box. Hopefully someday there will be a miracle that brings him to Jojo.
Flashback Off
Lidya put back the photo of Anka into the box and put the box into the closet. He really hopes Nina can help him meet Jojo.
