Apocalypse Witch: To the Strongests of an Age of Plenty

Apocalypse Witch: To the Strongests of an Age of Plenty
Episode 7's

They returned to the RV they used as a mobile base.

"Am I useful? I used a gas explosion to make sure everyone was evacuated, I cut off power to the broadcasting station, and I kept watch with binoculars. It was a tough job, but I'm pretty sure I managed to prevent anyone getting hit by broken glass."

OSIS chairman Omotesandou Kyouka is waiting for them in his wheelchair.

He had mingled with the background to provide logistical support, but he had to return to the RV in front of them. In addition, the RV driver's seat has been adjusted for him, so that the gas and brake pedals can be operated with a button on the steering wheel.

"Oh? You really killed him, didn't you?" it was the first thing Kyouka said when they returned.

"...Aye." Yeah."

"But you don't look so happy. Why aren't you glad we managed to defeat one of the strongest in the world and take revenge for everyone?"

The teenager stared at the childhood friend and the crystal girl on both sides.

Is he smiling or crying?

The avenger can no longer determine.

"I'm not sure myself either."

And he said more in his heart:

I'm sorry, Gekiha.

I don't think we're the kind of people who can appear in the action movies you dream of.

Between Lines 1

"Crystal yeast?"

Elicia Luxverg had been puzzled when she first heard the term.

Magic is the term for divine miracles performed by human hands, but this new version does not seem to require a direct connection to the gods. A circuit board is attached to a unit known as the Crystal Blossom, the name of a god is locked inside, and a program based on the legend and myth of the god is installed to "drive the supernatural currents" which is similar to someone reading a weather map before cultivating a field or raking their boat sails.

Could it really happen?

"That doesn't bother me" answered Elicia Luxverg's shadow.

It is no longer a metaphor. The silhouette of his shadow on the floor changed to create a shape that was very different from his.

It was Vishnu, the God of Change.

He is one of the main Hindu deities alongside Brahma the Creator and Shiva the Destroyer. He is a protector and one of his duties is to take the form of ten different Avatars to solve problems that will disrupt public order.

The Elicia dinosaur can be seen as a version of the Avatar that was created using the power of Vishnu to freely change shape.

“How does that not bother you? They basically created gods out of paper and used your powers without permission. It's not even a good or bad thing. Is an actual god like you able to let that happen?”

“This is not that problem.” The female shadow's shoulders trembled in her amusements. “You can't keep the status quo just by letting time pass you by. Stopping the process can bring about changes known as stagnation. As a nurturing goddess, I believe I understand how difficult it is to keep things going. To be honest, I suspect the world has stagnated because the title as the strongest obtained by you for so long.”

“…”

“So, isn't this a good opportunity to shake things up? It feels strange because I am more or less praising the actions of the god of destruction and dance, but this should be a pretty good deal for you. Finding someone who will help you discover your abilities is always a good thing.”

“There are already four others with the title of the strongest person in the world."

“You mean a group of five bound by a deadlock like a nuclear strategy? When was the last time you fought each other?”

“Kok suddenly you question this?”

“I said you can't stop the world changing, so you have to put yourself to use that change as a tail wind. You five are so balanced that you can't expect to get any other experience points there. This applies both as an enemy and an ally.”

“I don't think you're the kind of god who happily searches for enemies.”

"Who said this new group should be the opponent?" The shadow by his side laughed with excitement. "Tough opponents can also be friends that you can really open your heart to. That's what it means to find happiness in maintaining a good relationship."

“A friend, yes?”
