Arestia Empire'S World Domination

Arestia Empire'S World Domination
Chapter 22: The Past

...—Capital of Arestia Empire, Excelia—...

...—14 August 1238—...

"If I had not remembered the nickname His Majesty had, he would have gone out of control and would have declared war on Gardom."

In a room so bright that there was a lot of lantern lighting, Warren explained the cause of Excel's annoyance right after reading the letter sent by the Queen of Florentia.

Before him sat in a circle on a round table of several people who had high chairs inside the House of Lords. In quick succession Ann, as his wife; Claire, Secretary of State; Joergen, Minister of Education; Victor, Minister of Finance; to his own father who is currently in the capital for escorting Leticia, Elfet, the Governor of the South.

Warren let out a heavy sigh, not expecting Excel to express his anger at the hearing of the queen's envoy to the neighboring country.

Just after Excel shows a strange character, where he will rise from his chair and look like he intends to jump, Warren whispers something that makes Excel realize if he is in an official state event.

Of course, a reply letter statement will be given within the next three to five days, causing high-level nobles to have more time to give the best decision they could think of in return.

Moreover, with the members of the House of Lords who do not get cooperation from Excel at the same time accompanied by an overflow of responsibility from him in full, as Excel no longer ignore Leticia and Gardom, as if Excel no longer ignore Leticia, the members of the House of Lords became a little confused as to how to make a reply letter to the Queen.

"Pulse... Sorry," Claire interjected, the look on her face revealed a confusion.

"Yes, please, Princess Claire." As a moderator, Joergen was welcoming, showing a gentle smile.

"Since... You all said something about the nickname that His Majesty the Empress has..." Claire was a little difficult to continue her words, feeling disrespectful and pleading with the few people before her to understand what she was about to say.

"Did you not know?" warren asked, his tone sounded a little astonished.

"I'm sorry.." Claire said.

"Are you aware of the war between the Kingdom of Rowling against the Kingdom of Natrehn...possibly about 7 years ago?" With a tired face from just finishing his overtime, Victor finds himself invited to an emergency meeting, causing him to have large eye bags under his eyes.

"Well..." Claire remembered.

"true." Victor displayed a solemn expression, "If you've heard of a white-looking figure who slaughtered thousands of Natrehn's soldiers and mutilated their corpses in the middle of the battlefield, said to be more than 10,000 people, this was the action of His Majesty, causing him to get a second name 'White Demon.'"

A little fear was stirring up Claire. Although Claire had heard of the nickname, she never expected it to be a woman she had been serving for over a year.

For Claire, knowing the figure of a woman who was very loving to her two children who even fed them without relying on a servant, greatly surprised her.

Because Excel is no longer active in warfare accompanied to have given birth to two children, the nickname seems to dim, no one will dub Excel as "White Demon" when they saw her taking care of her two children with tenderness.

With the exception of Ares, Milly, and his other concubines, none of the aristocrats knew of Excel's dark past, which caused him to be furious after learning that his son would become a political tool.

Hence, the nobles can only be confused, staring strangely at him as Excel expresses his annoyance simply because of the "political engagement" points addressed to his son.

For Excel, who had lost mother—the late Third Queen of Rowling— Kingdom right in front of her own two eyes and only gained the indifference of everyone around her in the past, of course knowing the contents of the letter made him very angry and upset.

Intending to stop the topic, Joergen questioned the future they had to decide, "So, should we delay the answer?"

"What are you going to do, Head of Academy?" Warren laid himself back in the soft seat tired, unconsciously he again called Joergen as in his school days.

Joergen gave a wry smile in response to Warren's behavior, "Begging for a meeting of the two leaders before winter hits the northern hemisphere."

"But I think it would be very dangerous if His Majesty the Emperor went to a country that still has no clear relationship with us." Victor gave his reluctance.

Geck.

Geck.

The sound of knocking on the door filled the room, a knight standing by the door lowered his head, asking for permission to know the figure of the knocker.

Knowing Lucy—who had previously been asked to attend a meeting with some members of the House of Lords and requested permission to leave the meeting for while—had been behind the door, the knight invited her to enter.

"Is His Majesty alright?" Ann expresses her concern for Lucy who is walking over.

Lucy put on a sad smile, "Yes... At this moment, he was asleep."

"I see, that's good" Ann said.

After waiting for Lucy to sit back where she had previously sat, Joergen reopened the conversation, "There is no need to send His Majesty to a neighboring country, maybe a town or village on the border is enough."

"What would you do if they refused, Marquis Kolvich?" Victor slightly answered back, feeling Joergen was wasting time.

"If you look back at the agreement, I feel that they are unlikely to reject it" Joergen replied.

The conversation grew, but in the end the House of Lords agreed to Joergen's proposal and gave the decision to discuss Ares with Florentia directly.

Climbing the dark hallway in one corner of the palace, the long red-haired maid, quite sensual in stature, moved closer to the door of Excel's private room with a sneak, slack, and, one of his hands carried a tray with two bowls of soup on it.

Geck.

Geck.

"Your Majesty, I brought a few bowls of soup to your dinner." Tapping, the waiter said something quite softly.

Excel opened the door, his lips forming a bright smile, very excited even though he did not make a loud noise, "You finally came, Lydia! Let's get in!"

Lydia simply smiled, looked at Excel who had come back running in warmly and walked after him.

"Thank you for always doing this for us, Lydia." A thin woman lying on the bed smiled warmly.

His skin was pale, very in tune with his long white hair that was smeared tangled, his body looked very weak, but the thing that emanated clearly was the color of his two eyes which was very contrasting.

"No, Your Grace. That's my job." Lydia shook her head lightly, putting both bowls of soup on the table right beside the bed.

Lydia served both bowls of soup gently, one to Excel by placing a cloth under it, and the other in both hands.

As she always did, Lydia would feed her Master because of her condition which could only lay weak. Does not have the slightest energy, although the age is still ranging at the age of 25 years.

After finishing his meal, Excel gave his bowl back to Lydia, "Hey, Lydia, how about you sleep with us tonight?!"

"But, I'm just—"

"I think it's okay, Lydia." Hearing the woman's downstairs, Lydia cut off her words, "I also want at least my daughter to have a friend."

The woman weakly stroked Excel's hair, feeling affectionate, while looking expectantly at Lydia to accept Excel's request.

Lydia let out a light sigh, immediately showing a gentle smile, "Well, Your Majesty."

"Yeah! Thank you, Lydia!" Excel said cheerfully.

Lydia prepared a bed on the other side of the bed that Excel used to sleep with the woman.

Until late arriving, making sure the two who had fallen asleep and were in a cuddling position, Lydia crept out of the room.

"Hhhhhhhh!" Excel awakens, although he is still not fully aware. Turning his gaze around in a daze, he found the bed that Lydia used to be in an empty position, "Lydia?"

Excel got off the bed, walked out the door and peered through the hallway outside the room. Only a silent darkness could be found, Excel strode down the dark alley to look for Lydia's figure, who had disappeared from her bed.

Heading a little further away, until Excel felt the fear of walking in the dark, he decided to return to his room.

The door that was supposed to be closed, for some reason slightly opened, slightly revealing the dimness of the candlelight that illuminated the room. With a little fear, Excel forced his foot forward and peeked at the small crack of the slightly open door.

Both of Excel's eyes were wide open, something he should not have wanted to become a reality. Behind the door, Excel very clearly saw the dark-robed figure who was pulling out a dagger and pointed it straight towards the chest of the woman he loved so much.

"Dreams!" Fiercely, Excel pushed open the door, forced his way in and jumped at the killer to stop what he was doing.

JRASH!

Excel's late. The dagger whose blade was covered in liquid had pierced his mother's chest, causing her anger to instantly peak.

The cloaked figure turned around, looking at Excel with a smile and a look of disdain, "The damned child must be wiped out."

"Lydiaaa—"

"Auh?!" Excel woke up, immediately sitting on his bed in shock.

Nightmares, Excel recalls his dark past. Unknowingly, tears immediately poured down from all four corners of his eyes.

Mothers...

Both hands stretched out, rubbing the face that was now very wet by the tears. Just for a moment, a small hand stroked his arm up to his elbow, Excel found his son, Raze Blanc Aubert, staring at him, perplexed by his mother's sudden crying, despite her twin brother, Orcian Blanc Aubert, stay asleep.

"Are you awake?" With a slight sobbing, with glazed eyes, Excel forced himself to smile, closing his lips to kiss his son's face.

"Mom..why?" Sneaky questions, sounding a little unclear, really hurt Excel's feelings because it made her son worried.

"Hm." Excel shook his head lightly, letting out a soft voice in response to his fine state, "Let's go to sleep again."

Excel hugged his son, laid back Raze to sleep side by side with the Orcian.

"Hmm~ hmm~" Singing a song, but only in tone, Excel's right hand gently patted his son's butt.

The soft sound of the sound that felt affectionate again made Raze sleepy, just a few moments after she went back to sleep.

For a moment, Excel kept patting his ass. Although not as hard as before, Excel's tears still dripped. Memory of his dark past he never forget, Excel can only hug sadly his two children accompanied by sobs. His face came back closer, peeping lovingly at the forehead of his son and daughter.

Looking at the two, little heart Excel really hopes that her husband and her two children have a happy life with her.

Although your safety from now on will be threatened...

Don'tdon't worry...

Mom and Dad will always protect you.
