Arestia Empire'S World Domination

Arestia Empire'S World Domination
Chapter 54: Rest

...—Hauzen City, Arestia— Empire...

...—16 February 1239—...

The clear sky overshadowed, the city activity which became a place where taxes were exempted was busy as usual. Located near the equator where the sun will always shine, Hauzen City is a perfect place for large-scale industrial activities where there is no winter that paralyzes all economic activity.

Several days have passed since the Princess of Gardom Kingdom and her guardian, Leticia el Rodomea, arrived in the Capital of Excelia to receive asylum from Ares due to the chaotic internal political conditions of Gardom.

No different than Leticia, the other two asylum-seekers, Andres and Eleanor, are also experiencing mental and mental stress, though they do not say so. Ares understood that the recipients of asylum—including the nobles of their followers—also thought about how to return the favor in the future.

Intending to ease their burden, Ares can only smile lightly and take asylum-seekers on vacation in the trading city that is now the largest entertainment and commodity hub in the entire western continent. Not only that, in good faith, Ares has actually told the asylum recipients not to have to think back in light of the chaos of their country, even though the asylum recipients do not trust the words of Ares too much.

The light has now been seen, slowly some of the boats they were riding strolled out of the canal tunnel. No different from the cheerful expression that Raze and Orcian looked up to, Gardom Kingdom Princess, Merlin.

The long wavy purple haired little girl smiled broadly showing her small dimples. All three look like children who just feel their first experience when riding a boat. At first, the fear remained. Because the Orcian forcibly pulled Merlin's arm, he cried because the boat was swaying though Merlin had now gotten used to it until his fear subsided.

"I thought of something." Looking at the backs of the three little children, Eleanor asked softly. His tone is sharp, feeling that the economy in this city is not running as it should.

"What's that?" ares asked again, his attention remained on his children while putting on a bright smile.

"What did you use to pay for this tour a moment ago?" Hearing Eleanor's words, Leticia and Andres immediately turned their eyes away.

"That's right." Leticia looked curiously at Ares, "Isn't that also the paper you introduced back then?"

Human behavior has always been like this, right?

Ares was a little flabbergasted. Because of the huge difference in position, Leticia now acts modestly, in contrast to a few months ago when she acted as the emissary of Queen Gardom, Florentia. Not only has she been granted asylum, but along with Merlin, Leticia also gets an elite knight escort to protect herself from assassins sent by several warring Gardom political factions.

"That's the card money." Ares momentarily flashed a meaningful smile, "A certificate capable of being a substitute for gold and silver coins."

"Well?!" Andres became very surprised, "Ka—kamu..."

"Yes?" Staring strangely at Andres who immediately covered his mouth, Ares slightly frowned, not understanding what he wanted to say.

Andres momentarily glanced at the woman who was right next to him with some hesitation, making Eleanor a little uncomfortable.

Eleanor closed her eyes with a small sigh, "Actually, we already have plans to issue our own currency. However, because we hit some obstacles such as media certificates and responsibility, we stopped to realize it and put it off until all obstacles can be solved."

"Eh? Really true?" There was a slight mistrust in Ares' reply as he judged that currency issuance was never thought of before, "Moreover, aren't you worried about telling me your political plans?"

"No." Eleanor shook her head lightly, "After my brother and my parents died, I now grasped all the power Lourentz had. After all, our lives are now within your grasp. If you sell us, all of our plans will just be rubbish, won't you?"

Eleanor responded with a friendly smile, Ares inevitably had to change the topic for the atmosphere to warm up. However, luck arrived to him, a little boy who was at the front of the canoe pointed, giving a happy face as their journey was about to end.

"Dad! There are a lot of boats out there!" raze said with sparkling eyes.

Ares simply smiled in response. Even when adults talk about various topics or just enjoy the city view while traveling canoe, the three children seem to have been in their own world.

Not only Ares, even Leticia was very understanding if Merlin needed an entertainment. For the past few months until for his future, he no longer had any parents. Leticia had to keep lying to him until she reached an age where at least Merlin could control her emotions a little.

Kano started docked, the group of executives and guests of the country— which of course is in disguise—one by one get off the boat.

Looking at the woman who was just standing still surrounded by some knights in the corner of the small pier of the canal, Ares sighed lightly after returning to putting the Orcian in his arms.

"Do you want to do a canal tour, honey?" ares.

"Hgm." Excel threw away the face, a sense of resentment pervading his mind after finding out if Ares left him around town by canoe, "Who wants to?"

Once again, Ares let out a light sigh, "Eleanor, Andres, Miss Leticia. Please forgive us, would you like to continue your tour of the city without us?" Ares momentarily glanced at Merlin with Raze still staring at some floating canoes. "I guess the kids still want to do it again."

"Alright," replied Eleanor.

"I don't mind" Andres replied.

"Thank you." Ares momentarily lowered his head lightly, expressing his gratitude, "If there are any questions, just ask the bodyguard I sent to accompany you. And also. Please return to the castle in the afternoon."

"Okay," Andres replied.

A hint of envy reflected in the view. After settling in the capital and knowing how Ares was related to Excel, Eleanor thought that Ares was very different from the common nobility.

According to the news heard, Ares challenged Excel so that he could inherit the throne of the Rowling Kingdom in the past. Inversely, it can even be said to be harmonious, the two often do jokes or something romantic, unlike two people who marry only because of political factors alone.

Eleanor and Andres were left with several guard knights as well as a low-ranking noble as their guides. Moving back down the city under the bright sunshine, the people around could only see Andres and Eleanor as a wealthy merchant who got priority from the knights.

The streets seem deserted, although it can be said to be crowded when compared to a small town.

"What do you think?" eleanor asked, looking at the lively atmosphere of the city.

"What do you mean?" ask Andres.

Just as Eleanor was about to answer, a sound of horn and violin went into their ear holes. The second step turned, towards where the source of the sound that sounded very pleasant was located.

"What's that?" ask Eleanor.

"If I can express it, it might be like entertainment to the public, Miss." An old knight Arestia who was slightly behind Eleanor replied politely.

"Public entertainment?" Andres.

"Yes..." Before long, their party met with many people gathered, as if surrounding the source of the voice that was at the corner of the crossroads.

Not only the rich, some workers also seemed to enjoy the tone. With a suitable location, some people who enjoy their meals in outdoor shops also move their heads lightly, as if adjusting changes in musical rhythm.

"This.." said Andres who was a little amazed.

"That's right, sir. They were one of the few musical groups that became disciples of the court musicians," the old guard knight timbal said.

"Court musicians? Why did His Majesty go that far?" Andres saw a hint of pride on the knight's face after he asked.

"Sure, because it is in harmony with what His Majesty wants. He was eager to establish a city where the distance between the people was very short. Both large business owners and even Mr. Loic who became the Head of the Bank, to the workers of the workers, all can enjoy it without exception," said the old knight.

Eleanor remained silent, momentarily pondering while looking at the backs of the humans surrounding the musicians. His outlook on life has slowly changed since he lived as an asylum recipient.

On the other hand, Ares is a pure nobleman who has grand plans that can even be said to involve the world, yet he is also very thoughtful about how small people can survive. A nature that contrasts with each other, not only for Eleanor, but Andres can also feel it.

I really don't understand what he's really thinking.

Note :

Sorry long time no update. To be honest, more than 10 days ago I was stuck with his idea, a classic problem while writing. The big idea/storyline already exists, but for execution writing chapters & so as not to get off track is a difficult one.

Sorry, next eps I will jump directly to the sub arc of the capital that brings together Jeanne and the top officials of the country, after which the invasion of the South Islands involving several other large fleets of countries.
