CHAPTER 16a
Everyone walked into Ningrum's treatment room. Maharani sat away near the television after greeting as necessary. Although lazy, Maharani still greet, however Marina always emphasizes to maintain the manners of older people. Anggi hugged his mother full of longing, followed by Juna who also greeted his mother-in-law politely.
"Are you better, son?" ningrum asked the youngest.
"I'm healthy, Mom. Just recovery." Anggi answered gently, soothing.
"How are you, Ningrum? It feels so good." Marina hugged Ningrum then sat down on the chair provided at the side of the bed.
"I miss you too, besan. My condition is very good. A few more days the doctor said I could go home" Ningrum replied joyfully.
"Thank God. After recovering properly, you should stay at my house, all vacationing in Bali."
"Thank you for all the kindness of your family, spending so much money just for my health" Ningrum said gratefully mixed in heartlessly.
"We are family now. Should've helped each other. Just focus on your health," Marina replied sincerely from the bottom of her heart.
Ningrum moved to get up. Anggi spryly helped, but Ayu immediately interrupted half-putting her hand. Hastily helped his mother to sit comfortably to create an image of a filial child in front of Marina.
"Let me. You sit there!" ayu whispered into Anggi's ear full of emphasis in every syllable spoken.
Anggi retreated then looked at her brother's back in astonishment. Usually if he is in the hospital, Ayu always spills all the duties of taking care of her mother to him and Anggi never minded it.
"No need to look for face. Sit there!" whispered Ayu again with teeth chattering, then pushed Anggi's shoulder at a glance until his sister almost fell. Luckily, Juna who stood not far away quickly caught Anggi's waist. Although Juna is focusing on the phone screen, it turns out his reflexes deserve thumbs up.
"Be careful dong!" gerutu Juna slowly. "What exactly are you? Could it be on a flat floor like this almost fell?" ask her with a frown.
"Oh, i-that, my legs are still a little limp. Just like there was water spilling on the floor, so I slipped" Anggi tried to find an excuse, hoping to worry that Juna would not see when Ayu pushed him. I don't want to have a scene in front of her mother.
Juna's raut turned anxious. Spontaneous she crouched down, fingered her knees as well as Anggi's calves with a panicked expression. "Which side is still limp? What do I need to check for X-ray?"
Anggi almost burst out laughing at Juna's overwhelming response, even though he became sick as well as the cause was Juna and now the perpetrator even panicked himself.
"Geez, I'm just limp. Not a broken bone." Anggi chuckles at once embarrassed. The eyes of the parents steal a glance at him due to Juna's overly conspicuous attitude. Clumsy Anggi asks Juna to get up and drags him out of the room.
"After three months of marriage. They are getting closer. I'm not wrong to ask your daughter to be my son's wife. Anggi can make Juna even sweeter." Marina giggles, feeling both funny and happy.
"Please guide my daughter, Marina. Anggi still has a lot to learn to be a wife," pinta Ningrum while squeezing Marina's fingers.
"He no longer needs to be taught. From the very beginning I always believed that Anggi was the best for Arjuna."
Marina and Ningrum were back in laughter. Maharani prefers to watch television broadcasts, while Ayu clenches her hands and snorts spitefully hearing Marina's praise for her sister.
