Chapter 2

Drrt…

The sound of a mobile phone vibrating on the table woke Sari from her sleep. With his eyes closed he tried to reach his cellphone which had not stopped shaking.

"Goedemorgen lieverd and slaapt nog?"

(Good morning my dear are you still sleeping?)

Sari frowned and held her dizzy head,

" Mam morgen, hoe laat is het?"

(Mom's morning, what time is it?)

" Zeven uur Indonesian tijd schat en twee uur in de ochtend hier."

(Seven o'clock dear Indonesian time and two o'clock early morning time here.)

" And what did Mom do this early?" Ask Sari

" Mom misses you baby can you just go back to Amsterdam, you can continue your studies here Dad will give you a good position in our company." pinta mom Adeline, Sari's mom from across the street.

" Mom, we've talked about this instead of me wanting to be independent here, maybe later if I'm tired of life here I'll go home Mom." sari replied while leaning her body against the cushion of the sofa.

Apparently last night Sari fell asleep in the living room after seeing the book.

" Are you sure you can handle the rigors of living there yourself, baby?"

" Of course Mom I sure believe me."

" Well mom can what if it's your wish but remember one thing dear if something happens quickly contact us okay?"

" Okey mom of course."

" Happy work baby. Take care of your health, Mama houdt van je."

(Mom loves you.)

" Bedankt mam.. ik hou ook van jou Gegroet aan papa daar."

(I love you too Mom. Greetings to Daddy there.).

Sari placed her phone on the table next to the strange ledger. Sari stared at the book as Madam Pur, her domestic assistant came to open the door.

" Eh non Sari, have you woken up?" Ask Mb Pur

" Ehm, was it early in the morning?"

Sari asked as she continued to stare towards the table

" Yes, not last night, the rain must have leaked here, so you want to take a few first." replied Mr. Pur

" Yes..tuuu see, a lot of leaking mbak." said Sari while pointing towards some bucket of shelter

" O Allah, how much I call mas Ali aja yes non to betulin leaking roof" said mbak Pur

" Yes mbakat aja. later it costs how much just say it to me." replied Sari.

" Oya mbak, whose book is it... I have never seen this book?" Ask Sari curiously

Mbak Pur stepped closer to Sari and looked towards the table,

" Ooh that. yesterday there was anther this book mbak, he said the book belongs to mbak Sari who missed at his boarding house" replied mbak Pur

" Hah...serius mbak, who here is not my book you know?"

Sari was surprised that she did not have such a book.

" A man who is antherin mbak.ngteng again the man, tall, white, dashing anyway." answered mbak Pur

" What's her name mbak?" Ask Sari

" Waduh forgot how he mbak, lha wong pas nerima that I saw the face of his smile ma aja." replied mbak Pur while laughing

" Heeee..dasar kemayu, nda can see the good stuff dikit." said Sari gemas.

Pur and Sari laughed at the same time.

Sari got up from her seat and prepared to leave for work. Mbak Pur has prepared a makeshift breakfast, fried rice with egg plunge plus his favorite cucumber is enough to prop up his stomach in the morning.

Sari ate her fried rice while checking some incoming messages on her phone. Suddenly a message came in from Doni, his team's photographer.

Meeting at nine o'clock...Oya bring me a yak latte coffee...Cappucino ice pesen bagas...Rara, ice americano...Ahmad, also the same cappucino. don't forget the big boss caramel latte with extra choco…

Sari chuckled at the order list on her phone, she replied to the message

Gokil you guys.I thought I sold coffee.Pay how nii..morning yes I keep the tract...

Doni replied again to his message, though,

Biasaa.. kasbon.lu tajir Sar…

Sari could only shake her head. Sari is not the type of woman who is stingy especially if who asks her friends, because she realizes here Sari lives alone at least they are a substitute for her father and mother who are far away in Amsterdam.

The clock has shown Sari seven at grabbing her bag and leaving immediately,

" Mr Pur, I left first yes. don't forget to lock everything if Ali is finished betulin tile."

Sari's message to Mbak Pur who was washing clothes in the back.

" A ready non, be careful on the road." said Mbak Pur while trying to chase after Sari to deliver her away.

" What ride does not go?"

" Ordinary, ma'am's online taxi." replied Sari

" Therefore, non, spit has a throb let there be a shuttle." said Mbak Pur laughing

" Cckk .. no online taxi driver also likes the pick-up anther means he's Sari dong's girlfriend."

Mbak Pur and Sari spontaneously laughed again together.

Not long time online ojek order Sari came. He immediately left Mbak Pur alone.

" Eman-emane..beautiful, bule, kok ya nda practices tho, cckk.. mesak ne yo." muttered Mbak Pur.

Sari headed to one of the big shopping centers in the Simpang Lima area. He had to stop by to buy a coffee order. Sari gave a note to the cashier and paid for it.

The atmosphere of the coffee shop this morning is quite crowded probably because coffee is already a must and millennial lifestyle. About fifteen minutes Sari waited for her order to come as well.

With a little trouble Sari took him to the office where he worked not far from the coffee shop.

His hands were full of coffee orders and paper bags, Sari had little trouble pressing the elevator button. A kindly man pressed the elevator button for her.

" What floor is it?" Ask the man politely

" Floor 5 mas." replied Sari

The man smiled at Sari and pressed the 5th button. They were in the elevator just the two of them made the atmosphere a little awkward for Sari.

" Mom works here?"

" Yes,"

" Have you been a long time?"

" It's only been about three years."

" Long dong."

Sari just nodded and smiled. The man seemed to steal a glance at Sari but he did not care about the man.

Tiii…..

The elevator door opened on the fifth floor, Sari said goodbye to the man and she also thanked him.

The man smilingly stared at Sari's departure until it disappeared from his sight,

" We'll meet again. I'll make sure it happens... Sari,"
