Become The Adoptive Sister In My Novel
CHAPTER 27: It's Time To Go Home [FLASHBACK]

"Ha... You must be thinking about how if there is a war back, you should not worry that he is Duke Thedelso he will definitely solve everything easily," Abigail said as if to calm Calista.

Abigail had no idea what Calista was thinking right now. Her future, if only she was truly declared pregnant.

Some time has passed. It's also night. Mr. El came home with some new medicine for the orphanage children. Calista quickly explained his intentions.

"Calista, have you done anything?" ask Mr. El like he knows what Calista is going through.

"That's...."

"Did something happen?" asked Abigail who came in to hear that her face became anxious.

"No dear, it looks like we're going to get a new grandchild" said Mr. El with enthusiasm.

And so is Abigail. He did not expect to hear this news. "We have to quickly tell everyone, ah-! Mr. Duke-"

"Madam Abigail." Calista interrupted as Abigail started picking up pen and paper to write letters. "I beg you not to do that, you yourself say if the kingdom is not good especially when it is found new sanit. Please, don't tell anyone."

Abigail simply fell silent, the pleasure and warmth suddenly turning into a silent chill. Calista could not hold back her tears, she was just not strong that reality had frightened her.

"My son Calista."

"I beg Madam, let me take care of this child myself."

That night Calista stayed at the orphanage. Nothing happened. Just a dream about her and a princess.

In the morning Calista helps Madam Abigail to make breakfast for the orphanage children. He sees some people still there, hugging Calista longs. By noon, Calista was home. As usual she walked on foot, looking at the people who were looking at her in disgust.

That look he got after the Duke's real identity was revealed. She looks like a woman from a man who already has a partner.

"Why have you been so long, Calista," a welcome from someone Calista knew.

"Sir.." said Calista trembling, somehow he came back. "Are you not busy?"

Calista's plan completely failed. He wanted to leave, get away from this place. Far from those who are in conflict with the Kingdom.

Calista knew her place of life now was not a quiet place. Despite being far from the capital, the rivalry between the church and the kingdom was still felt.

"Calista, I told you to come with me to the i-"

"Why are you always so stubborn as this Calista! You know when in the capital it will be more guarantee our children," explained Thedelso immediately make Calista silent.

Sure enough if Thedelso finds out she's pregnant. I don't know how fast information makes him know and come here.

Calista hugged her stomach slowly. "Are you unconscious? If the church has found another one, the feud between the church and the kingdom will heat up, I just want to live in peace" Calista explained trying to explain what she meant.

The hand of Thedelso who was originally holding Calista's arm was strong now began to take off. So too with Thedelso's breath gasping heavily right at Calista's head.

"Would it be me if I was born like this Calista, this is my life."

The whimper came out from someone who usually raised their sword. Either a man or a woman remains if she's an enemy won't be able to escape her death.

That's what Calista was afraid of. He was raised by an orphanage that was very attached to the church. Since childhood Calista was taught as a devotee, to now see Thedelso in front of him even goosebumps himself.

Suddenly a knock on the door of the house made the two of them flinch. "Mr Duke, sorry to interrupt the timing. I hope you can return to the entourage, Your Majesty will be looking for you," shouted someone after shouting like that.

"No, I can't! How do I leave you pregnant Calista?!" thedelso shouted, beginning to worry. He lost patience when talking to Calista.

"When did you know about my pregnancy? Are you spying on me?"

"It's not like you think, I was anxious when I left you alone. Please understand Calista, come with me to the capital."

"The company there doesn't suit me, I prefer it in a quiet place like this" Calista said softly in contrast to the stubborn tone earlier. He looked around, embracing the hand of Thedelso who was still holding him back to leave. For a moment he held it on his cheek, then kissed it slowly. "You already have a son, right? I grew up in an orphanage, a place where there was no affection, I don't want your son to feel the same way that his father still lives for it. Come back, your son must be waiting for you right now" he continued.

After returning to his mansion Thedelso always reply secret messages with Madam Abigail or Mr. El. They tell of the state of Calista, where it is true that the state of the church and the kingdom began to heat up. Until a covenant is concluded, a new peace exists for the kingdom but not for Thedelso.

The fact that he received a letter from Madam Abigail if Calista must have been to the country. I don't know where, he didn't even tell Madam Abigail. Chances are Calista knows what he and Thedelso have been doing all this time.

Many years passed, the effect of Thedelso's widower with many applications against him. Many nobles who sent out cover letters offered their charming daughters. I don't know what Thedelso thinks now, the fear of losing makes him tired of looking for a partner. Not to mention with the news that Calista really did not exist even though he was already looking for her.

The kingdom was back in the scene with a plague that spread on the outskirts of the village. As the man of Thedelso tried to handle it. Many tucked in letters of request for help and thanks that came for Thedelso, up to one letter that made him stunned. Letter from a priest in the country sebrang, without power only the residents who help each other to build the country.

The letter says he is a priest named Cleo, where a woman with a daughter named Calista asks for help. It was exciting but also painful news for Thedelso. The fact that Calista herself was already aware of her illness, and she would not last very long. A request to bring a child named Amora, who was none other than the son of Thedelso himself.

Getting there takes a lot of time. While Thedelso still can not go because of royal affairs. Inevitably he could only send servants, doctors, as well as bodyguards for a while. Until he realized a last letter was written by Calista himself who asked him to come and bring Amora.

"I knew it was my fault, my selfishness made me go to bring Amora. But I really can't take care of him anymore. I've had various treatments, but last night I had a dream that it was my time to go home."
