The Ice That Melts

Winda asked once again about the birthday cake he had prepared a while ago. All the preparations are ready, starting from decorations, cakes and special gifts for Reino.

He was never absent to give a surprise birthday for Reino. Unlike previous years he always prepared special events outside. Now he prepared it in the office, because Reino had definitely refused his invitation on the grounds of his wife.

The clock shows at 08.25 WIB, but Reino has not yet shown himself in the office. Several times, he tried to contact the man but did not pick him up. I don't know what Reino did but, just this time he was late going to the office.

Tired of waiting, Winda decides to meet Reino at his house. He did not want his efforts to be in vain because he had already painstakingly prepared all of this.

Just up to the office lobby, Winda's footsteps came to a halt as Reino was seen exiting his car.

"Rei.." Vinda's call came to a halt as she saw Eliza was also in the man's car. The two of them walked closer to the office.

"Where are you going Win?" reino asked as he and Winda passed by.

"Ehm. I have a little business. Why did you just get to the office? Tumben once?"

"I stayed at my in-laws' house last night. Now I'm going to take the unfinished files I signed yesterday, because today I'm going on leave,"

"Huh? A leave? Suddenly?" Winda was shocked to hear Reino's sudden decision.

"Yes, I will be spending time with my wife today" Reino said as she turned to Eliza who was smiling awkwardly. Because Eliza knew of Winda's plan to give Reino a surprise birthday but failed because of her.

"Let me get it, you just wait here" said Vinda. He had to prevent Reino and Eliza from entering Reino's study because all the surprises he had prepared seemed to be going to waste and that would only make him look apprehensive.

"May, if you don't mind," said Reino.

Finally, Winda reentered the office, and headed for Reino's room. He searched for the file Reino meant, after finding it he did not go out immediately but threw away all sorts of decorations he had prepared for Reino's birthday, he said, all he put in a plastic bag of garbage except for the gift he had prepared.

Upon returning, Winda gives Reino the file he wants and gives the card to the man.

"This file. And here's a gift for you. Happy birthday, Reino, sorry I can only love this. May happiness always be with you" said Winda.

"Oh yes thank you,"

"Then I want to leave for a while, because it's too late," Winda's reason for avoiding Reino.

After returning to the car, Eliza looked at Reino with an unpleasant look. As a wife she prepared nothing on her husband's birthday.

"I'm sorry, I haven't given you anything on your happy day" Eliza said sadly. She felt like a bad wife to the man.

"What the hell is that? This kind of gift is not important. You are the most beautiful gift for me" said Reino.

He was a little surprised by the words he said, because this was the first time he expressed his feelings for his wife.

Eliza also patted her cheek to make sure it was not a dream.

"You must have been surprised to hear me say something like this, I was actually a little surprised as well. Maybe since last night, I felt like I could be more open to you. Sorry for making you wait so long,"

"Here, don't apologize again. I also want to apologize because I haven't been able to be a good wife to you,"

"We started from the beginning, yes" Reino said with a smile to Eliza. The first smile that Eliza saw was so sincere from her husband.

"You're so handsome when you smile like that" Eliza praised involuntarily.

"Then I'll smile more,"

"Smile at me, not at another woman" Eliza said. Suddenly she becomes unwilling if another woman falls in love with Reino's sweet smile.

They plan to go for a walk to Bandung for refreshing as well as carrying out a honeymoon that is delayed so long. Previously they returned home to pick up their necessary items.

Reino's car enters his yard, from a distance Bastian is still fixated on seeing the arrival of Eliza with Reino.

"So they didn't come home all night" Bastian murmured. She was not willing if Eliza was getting closer to her husband. That means his position will be threatened, and Bastian does not want that to happen.

"You wait a minute, I want to review the work of my employees for a while" said Reino then went to his study to finish his work.

"Ah yes. I wait," answered Eliza. He sat in the living room, turning on his cell phone, which he turned off last night. There were some missed calls from unknown numbers.

"Bastian must be worried" Eliza's inner.

He intended to send a message to the man but was stopped because he suddenly saw a new figure he was thinking of walking from a distance to his home.

When Bastian steps only a few feet away towards the door of Reino's house, Eliza rushes out so Reino does not know.

"What are you doing here?" ask Eliza slowly.

"I miss you so much, why didn't you call me? What are you doing with your husband?" bastian asked who had been burned by the flames of jealousy.

"I don't think you have the right to ask such a thing,"

"Why? Are you going to throw me out now?"

"I didn't mean it that way.." Eliza cut out her sentence and glanced inside the house. Beware if Reino suddenly comes out and finds himself with Bastian.

"Then what?"

"Let's talk about it again, I don't want to until Reino finds out you're here, let's go, and go,"

"I don't want to go, I still want to see you,"

"Please Bas, understand my position. Believe me it's not easy being in my position,"

"Do you think it's easy to be in my position?"

"That's not what I mean, for now please leave. We'll talk about it tomorrow after I get home from Bandung,"

"What's? You want to go to Bandung?"

"Yes, Reino took me to Bandung today, I'll be back tomorrow. I promise after that we'll meet,"

"All right, but I'd like to hold you for a minute,"

"Are you crazy? Here are many neighbors who know me and Reino,"

"All right, all right, I'll go. If you have a chance please call me," Bastian finally relented and complied with Eliza's will to leave Reino's house immediately.

Eliza looked at Bastian's departure until the man entered her house. He did not expect that Bastian would act this recklessly. For now Eliza just wants to spend time with Reino.

"May Bastian want to understand and not act recklessly like that," murmured Eliza.

"Who's acting recklessly?"

Reino suddenly appeared startling Eliza who was still standing in the doorway.
