The Reason I Did It

At first Ricko was a sweet and cheerful boy. His life is almost perfect because he has two parents who love each other. But that all changed when he was 10 years old when he learned of his father's affair. And at that age Ricko who had begun to understand the problems of adults finally felt afraid that his harmonious family would be destroyed. Therefore, he immediately reported his father's actions to the mother in the hope that his mother could resuscitate his papa again. But apparently his thinking was wrong. Because it actually accelerates the separation of both parents.

Since then the atmosphere at home has never been the same. Ricko's mother drowned in depression and often attempted suicide. Ricko grew up almost without parental attention. For several months little Ricko took care of his mother by always feeding her mother herself. And every day he also always make sure that his mother does not hurt himself anything else when he wants to get out of the house. Until exactly one year of her parents' divorce, suddenly the mother seemed to find her passion again. That morning Ricko came out of his room and was greeted by his mother with a long-lost smile.

"Good morning dear.This morning my mother cooked your favorite dishes! mama also brought it for your lunch." said the mother with a cheerful face.

There was not the slightest trace of sadness on his face. Ricko felt as if he was dreaming to find his mother cheerful again.

"Mom really cooked all this for Ricko?" ask her with teary eyes.

"Of course, dear. because you are my mother's favorite child. Let's eat now baby" said the mama while spooning rice on Ricko's plate.

"Yes ma. I will definitely eat a lot" Ricko said in a cheerful voice.

"Good baby you are the best mama. Going home from school mom will surprise you"

"What's ma?" ricko asked with a face.

"Of course, baby" said the mother while kissing Ricko's forehead.

"Horay! thank you ma..."

After breakfast, Ricko immediately went to school with a happy heart. At lunch he immediately ate the food that his mother had prepared. He felt it was the best food he had ever eaten. But not yet he spent his provisions suddenly his homeroom teacher came to him.

"Ricko... get your bags ready, because your grandfather has come to pick you up." said the homeroom teacher without saying stale.

Ricko was astonished that his grandfather had picked him up during the break. And this means it's not time to go home from school yet.

"Is this a surprise from my mom?" his inner.

Then without asking, he obeyed the orders of his homeroom teacher. When out of class Ricko was awaited by his grandfather. But Ricko feels something is awkward about his grandfather's attitude. It was as if the old man was hiding something.

"So it's true that my mother has prepared a surprise for me." muttered Ricko with a smile.

"Let's Ricko we go home.Your mama is waiting" said the grandfather in a trembling voice.

Ricko followed his grandfather and got into the car. During the trip Ricko continued to smile at what surprise was being prepared by his mother. But when he got home, Ricko's hope was immediately shattered because what he got was not a pleasant surprise from the mother but vice versa. How not, the 11-year-old boy was faced with the corpse of a mother who had been lying stiff in the living room. The grandfather who knew his granddaughter's current feelings could only hug Ricko's body from behind. So surprised that the boy could not even let out his sad expression or shed his tears. He was just silent in his place standing with a blank look towards the body of the mother.

"Let's see your mama's face for the last time." said the geezer left in Ricko's ear and then took the boy to get closer to the stiff body of the mama.

That's when Ricko started to react. The boy immediately fell down in front of the body of the mother with tears that began to drip on both cheeks. But his mouth is still locked. Suddenly someone came from behind him.

"I'm sorry papa son. papa didn't think that your mama would do this recklessly." said Mr. Danu while hugging Ricko from behind.

The shocking reaction is shown by Ricko to the treatment of the papa. The boy immediately bit the hand of the father who coiled in his body. So the man immediately screamed in pain and let go of his embrace. Ricko's deep bite even made his papa's hand hurt and bleed. Ricko's mouth and teeth also contained some of his papal blood to make the 11-year-old boy look like a vampire who had just sucked blood from his victims.

Everyone there was shocked when they saw the boy's actions to his papa. The grandfather immediately calmed his grandson down even though he also felt the same anger toward his former daughter-in-law.

"Sabar Ricko.we take care of your mother's body so that it can be buried immediately." he said.

Ricko immediately relaxes his body in the arms of the grandfather.

"Mama kek.. mama left Ricko alone." sobbed in the grandfather's arms.

The grandfather was silent listening to the complaints of his grandson. His heart is also deeply wounded by the princess' decision to end his life and leave Ricko alone.

"You're not Ricko yourself, there is a grandfather who will always accompany you" he said trying to comfort his grandson.

And though it was full of tears mama Ricko's funeral finally went well. Papa Ricko was unable to get close to the funeral procession because Ricko did not allow it. The boy did not allow Mr. Danu to be directly involved in the funeral procession. Even Ricko directly pelted the papa with rocks and earth as the man tried to get closer to the burrow. This made some mourners directly ask Mr. Danu to stay away from there so that the funeral procession runs smoothly. Mr. Danu would not want to have to obey it so as not to interfere with the funeral procession.

Since then Ricko chose to live with his grandfather until he began entering SMU. Everyone thought Ricko grew up normally after his mother's death. But no one expected that since the death of his mother, Ricko's attitude began to change. He began to be quiet and loved to be alone. Ricko also never saw the real expression on his face. This made my grandfather anxious. Until the 12th grade, the grandfather decided to take Ricko to a doctor acquaintance who also understood about psychology because he was increasingly afraid of his grandson's increasingly strange attitude. Ricko who when met with the doctor was initially indifferent. But with his expertise the doctor was able to gain Ricko's trust and even he also did hypnotherapy on him to speed up his recovery. Without him and his grandfather realizing that Ricko has fallen into the trap of the doctor. Instead of improving, Ricko even becomes obsessed with vandalizing things that others consider to be beauty.

Ricko often does damage to objects that in the eyes of others look beautiful. He secretly damaged valuable objects and art value in his grandfather's house such as urns and paintings of his grandfather's collection. He even plucked butterfly wings while still alive. He seemed satisfied when he saw the pain of the animal he tortured. And it got worse when the grandfather died when he was only second grade SMU.

Sadness due to the loss of his loved ones again makes Ricko more and more in the trap of the doctor named Andrew. He seemed to be a tool for the doctor in fulfilling all his obsessions and wild imagination. With his degree and profession as a surgeon, he also got Ricko to follow in his footsteps to attend medical school. He even designed so that he could become a lecturer to guide the young man so that he could still supervise and influence Ricko. He seems to be planning to make Ricko as his successor in his obsessive madness.

Until one day Ricko honestly told him that he found someone who looked like his late mother. Sadira. When Ricko also showed the photos of the girl made Andrew's doctor surprised. It was nothing, the young girl was so similar to someone in her past. He also tried to get to know the girl directly without intermediary Ricko who always told him about the girl. To be exact, he wanted to interact directly with Sadira, his potential victim.

The opportunity arrived when the girl's school invited her to become a source at an event held by the girl's school to give an overview of the surgeon's profession. Of course, the opportunity was not wasted. Sadira who is a girl who always wants to know asked herself to be able to ask her directly in the question and answer session. This made it the first step for Andrew's doctor to approach Sadira. After being able to get to know the girl and learn her nature he immediately influenced Ricko to launch his action.

According to him Sadira is a girl who lives perfectly. Having a family that loved him very much and was rich made the girl almost never trouble. Her life was so perfect and beautiful that it made Doctor Andrew feel itchy and wanted Ricko to ruin it for him. And so begins Ricko's obsessive attitude toward Sadira where he begins to think of Sadira as the butterfly he once broke his wings. Ricko wanted to see Sadira's expression when he felt pain.

But what happened was something completely unexpected. As Ricko got closer to Sadira, the young man felt another feeling in his heart towards the girl. The feeling of wanting to damage and make Sadira feel the pain even slowly disappeared. And without him realizing that he began to feel like making the girl happier instead of making her suffer. This intensified when Andrew's doctor asked him to hurt Sadira. Instead of obeying the orders of Andrew's doctor, he instead tried to buy time while trying to get his mentor to cancel his intentions.

This attitude of course made Dr. Andrew became angry. Unbeknownst to Ricko, he plans everything. He wants to have Sadira for himself by kidnapping her and planning something for the girl after successfully bringing her to be with him. Sadira's abduction is very neat of course makes Ricko immediately suspect the mentor. However, due to the expertise of Andrew's doctor, the young man could not find any evidence to suggest that the man had kidnapped Sadira.

After spinning his brain all night, Ricko decided to come to Andrew's doctor's house to check on him. Under the pretext of asking for help in drafting the script he also ventured to visit the doctor's residence. Upon entering Andrew's doctor's house, Ricko was very nervous. He was not sure if he could fool the doctor and his guidance lecturer. Because of his skill, it could have been that Andrew's doctor had easily read his lie. But Ricko must not back down because this is the only way to ascertain whether it is true that Andrew's doctor has kidnapped Sadira.

And if it's true then he must figure out a way to let him know where Andrew's doctor hid Sadira. Therefore, after repeatedly calming himself, Ricko immediately asked permission to be allowed to come to his lecturer's house. Fortunately, unsuspecting doctor Andrew immediately agreed to Ricko's request. And this is where Ricko is. On the doorstep of Dr Andrew's house while pressing the home bell button. Soon someone opened the door from inside.

"Ah... you have come apparently." said doctor Andrew who opened the door of his house directly.

"Yes doc.." said Ricko with an awkward smile.

"Sorry to interrupt when you are on leave, but really at this time I really need your help." continued Ricko put on a compassionate face.

"Don't hesitate.you know you can count on me." said doctor Andrew smiling brightly.

"Then come in!" take Dr. Andrew and open the door wider.
