Return to Wang Cheng Hai's House

    The two of us returned to Mr. Wang Cheng Hai's house at noon around 10 a.m.

   Wu Jiang who was sitting on the porch of the house was shocked to see a Japanese army car arrive at Wang Cheng Hai's house. Coincidentally Wang Cheng Hai walked towards the terrace approaching Wu Jiang.

   Before descending, Lie Hong Yi told me, “Don't tell anyone that my name is Lie Hong Yi. As long as I'm in this world, my name is Tadashi Kazuo. So that my identity is not discovered, call me Mr. Tadashi. Remember, Sir huh?!” the Pinta Lie Hong Yi.

   Tadashi gets out of the car. Wang Cheng Hai was shocked that there were Japanese soldiers coming to his house. Tadashi opened the car door for me.

   When I came down, Wang Cheng Hai's eyes glared. Immediately she walked quickly up to me and grabbed my hand and hugged me tight. “You all right?!” Wang Cheng Hai asked worriedly.

   Lie Hong Yi was enragedly jealous and pulled out a gun. The gun was pointed at Wang Cheng Hai. “ ⁇ !” (Take that woman off right now?!) lie Hong Yi said in Japanese angry and his eyes filled with anger.

   I was shocked and glared at Lie Hong Yi. Can't believe Lie Hong Yi who can pull a gun. “What are you doing? Don't mess with the gun!” my anger.

   Lie Hong Yi raised the gun upwards and shot it into the sky. “I never mess around!” he answered angrily and his eyes were still full of emotion.

   Instantly I was frightened by Lie Hong Yi. I wonder at my heart. Semalem he's gentle and considerate, today he's scary. He and I stared at each other without saying anything.

   Wang Cheng Hai who saw Lie Hong Yi and I staring at each other face to face, suddenly came blocking our gazes and stood in front of me facing Lie Hong Yi.

“What is your purpose here, Mr?” Wang Cheng Hai asked to protect me.

“My goal is to protect her!” answer Lie Hong Yi.

“Protect from what? Rahayu here will be safe. No one will hurt her because I will marry her” Wang Cheng Hai replied.

“What do you mean, Mr Wang?” curious answers.

   “But, I have to go to work. Can we talk for a minute?” the Pinta Lie Hong Yi.

“Good, Mr Tadashi!” answer according.

   “Stop, Rahayu! Do not obey him. Japanese soldiers have killed Gouw Boen San and Lie Kun Lian!” w.a.n.g Cheng Hai said angrily in a loud tone as he looked at Lie Hong Yi.

“Mr Wang, what does Mr Wang mean? Lie Kun Lian died?” I was startled and curious while looking at mister Wang Cheng Hai. Mr. Wang was silent and did not know where to start the conversation from.

“Jawab, Sir! Sir Wang lied, right?!” I said while pulling Wang Cheng Hai's collar.

“Why shut up?! Answer!!” I said I started beating his chest with my right hand and then cried in Wang Cheng Hai's chest.

   Wang Cheng Hai was shocked to see me hugged tightly to Lie Hong Yi. “Let go, Rahayu!” jiang Cheng Hai.

“Gouw Boen San said, when something happens to him, he asks me to take responsibility for Rahayu!” said Mr. Wang Cheng Hai.

   Lie Hong Yi with watery red eyes pulled out a gun again and pointed it at Wang Cheng Hai. “I know what your plan is! Never once have you touched Rahayu's body! Whether in the future or now, your intentions towards Rahayu have never been sincere and kind!” said Lie Hong Yi who was still hugging my head. “Rahayu can stay at your home but not to be your wife!” angry Lie Hong Yi with a loud voice.

   “Whose are you?!” Asked mister Wang Cheng Hai also angrily. I whispered to Lie Hong Yi, “Lao Gong, leave it alone! Don't answer him. Save weapons. Take it easy, I'm not marrying her. I am yours now. But my heart needs time for me and Gouw Boen San. Remember the monk's message last night you said, death only once. Don't let anything happen to us! We have to go home to the future” I said whispering softly while still a little crying in Lie Hong Yi's arms. Lie Hong Yi kept his gun and took off my embrace.

   “Mr Wang, please take me to the graves of Gouw Boen San and Lie Kun Lian!” my door is soft and still sad.

Half an hour later we arrived at Gouw Boen San's Chinese Bong. The ancient tomb I had seen in my dreams when I was a child. A large, circular tomb at the back. Not far from there was Lie Kun Lian's tomb as well.

   I approached my husband's grave and I limped helplessly in front of Gouw Boen San's grave. I covered my face and cried as I pleased. I can't say anything. I can only cry.

   “After you left Gouw Boen San that morning. All day Gouw Boen San looks withered. He doesn't talk much. Even Han Kai Li asked jokingly, Gouw Boen San silently daydreamed. Han Kai Li said, Gouw Boen San is very different from what he used to be since he knew you. In the afternoon I saw him hiding behind a wall and crying to miss you. I heard him beating the wall while saying, Rahayu I'm sorry. I miss and love you so much. He said he was sorry that he treated you so badly. I saw him beat the wall so many times that his hand was hurt.

   That night Gouw Boen San couldn't sleep thinking about you. Han Kai Li intended to comfort Gouw Boen San, but Han Kai Li got drunk and crashed into the Japanese army. Gouw Boen San intended to protect Han Kai Li, but Gouw Boen San was beaten by Japanese soldiers and shot dead by Japanese soldiers it's a story Wang Cheng Hai told that made me cry even more.

   “Then, where is Han Kai Li?” my many. “Burried!” w.a.n.g Cheng Hai replied firmly.

   “The next morning after Gouw Boen San died, I had people tell Lie Kun Lian that Gouw Boen San died. Lie Kun Lian went back to Semarang and made a calculation with Han Kai Li. He was devastated to hear of the death of Gouw Boen San. They had a big fight and hit each other. Lie Kun Lian beat Han Kai Li's face many times while crying. Their quarrels are known to the Japanese army. From a distance the Japanese army shot Lie Kun Lian dead. Han Kai Li survived and fled. Shortly Wu Jiang came after hearing a shriek at the door telling Lie Kun Lian and Han Kai Li fighting in the street. Wu Jiang soon followed. Upon arriving there, Wu Jiang brought Lie Kun Lian's body to the hospital but was not helped. Lie Kun Lian was killed during the trip” Wang Cheng Hai continued.

   I remember the memories of everything I've experienced with Gouw Boen San and Lie Kun Lian. I kept crying and I didn't know how to stop crying. Tears keep flowing. I thought about Gouw Boen San.

   Unable to endure the sadness I stood up and screamed, “Gouw Boen San, wake up! I don't want you to die! I still want to be with you. Up, Ko! Let's go home! Come!” I said weeping as I gnawed at the grave ground and threw it away.

   Lie Hong Yi who saw me like that ran up to me and pulled me. “Rose! Stopit! Don't be like this! This

destiny!” lie Hong Yi said while pulling my shoulder from behind.

   Unable to hold everything back, I fainted in Lie Hong Yi's arms. “Lao Po! Awake, Honey! Lao Po!” lie Hong Yi said.

   “Rose? Lao Po?” wang Cheng Hai said curiously. Lie Hong Yi picked me up and was about to take me to his car but Wang Cheng Hai stopped. “Who are you really?” Wang Cheng Hai asked in anger. Lie Hong Yi did not reply and continued walking.  “Take him to my house!” wang Cheng Hai.
