Bridal Tears And Chameleon Family

Bridal Tears And Chameleon Family
Chapter 10 Gratitude

Sunday afternoon after the service, guests from Rina and Toni's side began to arrive home. They went straight from the Church to the house after attending the Baptist Child event which was done by Rina and Toni for their son, Elijah. The living room of Rina's house was already decorated simply, the result of Lisa's work waiting at home with some of Rina's siblings. They prepare seating, pre-ordered meals and photo frames. There are two photos in the living room. One portrait figura is displayed on a stand near the sofa with upholstery on the edges. Seeing the installation, Lisa intended to make the sofa as a seat for the small family of Rina. While one other figura mounted the landscape on the wall of the living room, on top of the largest sofa there. Lisa suggested the installation there so that you can make a special sofa for Eyang-Eyang Elijah will sit. Rina looked at the work of Lisa and her brother while carrying Elijah asleep on his shoulders. On the one hand, he was happy to have been helped like this but he was also surprised because it was not usually an event like this in his family. The thanksgiving after Baptism ever done by his family is just giving blessings to fellow congregants after the service or eating outside without the need to bother the owner of the house.

It has been a year over Rina and Toni family, he is still not accustomed to the custom of the Toni Family who always gather in one of the brother's houses after completion of the Church. This is what makes the celebration must be held at home and become more troublesome than he usually does. The house must be cleaned, arranged so that it can be filled with additional chairs and order food to feed the family who come. Lisa approached with an expression of an anxious face. Certainly not to interact with Rina, but with Elijah. Rina says silently to Lisa that Elijah slept before Lisa managed to snatch Elijah from Rina. Lisa urged disappointed at the reply from Rina. Lina smiled looking at the expression of this best friend. He did not expect Lisa to be a friendly person for small children. Lisa once scolded Toni's niece at their wedding for kicking a small bag that Lisa carried.

“Enough is the decoration,” Lisa said slowly to Rina.

“Quite-enough. No need to bother Lis, even nyenengin his family Mas Toni.”

Lisa scrunched her forehead in confusion hearing Lina's answer.

“Malah betrothed later you if they know your work is good,” said Rina nyengir.

Lisa looked cynically at Lina who laughed softly after saying that.

“There is still a single loh Lis,” goda Rina.

“Makasih, on the ribet it mending I nyari from the dating app,” said Lisa ketus.

Lina laughed at Lisa's reply. I don't know what Lina laughs more, the answer from Lisa earlier or the truth from Lisa's answer. Outside the house, a box car stopped in front of the house. Two people came out of the box car that was visible from the catering that was not ordered by Rina. Rina's HP rang and Lina handed Elijah to Lisa who accepted him happily. Rina read a message from Mr. Barkah who sent her a cake as a congratulation for the Baptist event that had taken place.

“Who Rin?” ask Lisa.

“Cake delivery from Mr. Barkah,” replied Lisa then walked to the outside of the house.

Lisa shook her head. He did not expect Mr. Barkah to be like that considering the success of Rina in their project first. Maybe if later Lisa decided to get married, she needed to reduce some expenses considering Mr. Barkah who got like that to Rina.

Rina and Toni's family fills the park to eat the dishes that Lisa and her impromptu team have prepared. As usual, Toni's nieces and nephews scattered around the house. Rina and Toni sit in the canopy of the bride's tear plant while accompanying Elijah on the baby trolley. The stars hang on the horizontal pole of the trolley, swaying because of Elijah's hand trying to reach the star. Pastor Simon, the pastor who baptized Elijah this morning, was present with his wife Mary. The couple may be only a few years younger than the parents of Rina and Toni but the way they walk and move makes them much younger than both parents Lina and Toni. Pastor Simon and Mary approached Rina and Toni with their drinks.

“Mas Toni, Ms. Rina, thank you for being invited,” said Reverend Simon.

“Iya Sir, equally. Thanks also for the service this morning,” reply Toni.

Maria noticed the plants that had covered enough of the canopy above them standing. Mary felt alien, she had never seen a plant like this.

“Mbak Rina, what is this plant?” ask Maria.

“Wed's tears, Mom. The betrothed gift from my friend,” replied Rina while looking at Lisa who was sitting in the garden chair while drinking iced oranges and ignoring the invitation to be more familiar from brother Toni. Maria was confused to hear the name of the plant and Lina seemed to understand Maria's expression.

“The name is weird huh Bu?” ask Rina.

Lina and Toni laughed. Remember first how they were confused by the gift from Lisa. Lina pointed towards Lisa and made them all look at Lisa.

“Tuh Bu who loves. That was the man, ma'am. Unichowo. That anyone wants to know aja didiemin,” said Rina with a smile. Pastor Simon remembered something.

“Do you want to ask for help all I find contacts for his friend Mbak Rina?” ask Pastor Simon.

Lina and Toni laughed at Pastor Simon's question. They were sure the pastor's efforts would be in vain.

“Ga for Sir. Still focused on work. Later if he wants to also ask for help himself,” said Rina. Pastor Simon nodded his head and looked at Marta who was joking with Elijah. Simon smiled as he watched his wife enjoy time with Elijah.

“Bu, yuk already. Get ready for the Afternoon Service,” said Reverend Simon. Rina, Toni and Maria get up and face each other.

“Mas Toni, Sister Rina, we say yes. Again thanks. May Elijah be healthy always, be a filial son to the family and God,” Pastor Simon said.

“Amin, thank you sir,” said Rina.

“Iya, equally. We go home first. The drug Elijah,” said Reverend Simon as he waved his hand at Elijah followed by Maria.

Lina and Toni laughed seeing Pastor Simon and Marta enjoying their time at home. Not yet had time to sit down, Helnina came while carrying a large enough parcel. Lina was confused as she did not feel inviting him.

“Loh Mas, you are the one?” ask Rina.

“Gak ngundang, but this morning he had a problem scenario already so what not. I'm excited to say I'm on this issue. Yes, I have come back,” replied Toni.

Rina was not enthusiastic about Toni's answer but she should not look like it because Helnina was already getting closer towards them.

“Kak Rina, Kak Toni congratulations yes have baptized Elijah,” said Helnina while greeting the two of them.

“Iya equally,” Toni said.

“So also yes Nin, sorry even ngerepotin bring gifts all,” added Rina.

“Ah gapapa, relax. The bonus tally from the producer yesterday of his short film was a success. Stay awaited long film version aja,” reply Helnina while looking at Toni.

Inwardly, Lina was quite upset that a job problem had appeared on her son's show. It is not family, work is also a topic of conversation. But Lina kept smiling in front of Helnina. She knew her family still needed Helnina as their source of income.
