Chapter 11 - Rina Begins to Be Suspicious

A month passed after Elijah's Baptism at the home of Rina and Toni. The condition of the house did not experience a significant change, only some furniture had a change of location so that Elijah who began active walking exercises were more facilitated. Of course, the more active Rina trained Elijah to walk. The condition of Elijah who is now a freelancer waiting for the project from Pak Barkah makes him have a lot of time with Elijah. Not with Tony. A few days ago, Toni was increasingly difficult to interact with when she also worked from home. Toni often confined herself to her room, working on a long-planned screenplay with Helnina. Once upon a time, Lina felt that Toni was not out of the room at all. Just this time he saw Toni working like that. Toni was once involved in a film project that had a bigger budget and got millions of viewers but it wasn't until this kind of work. Rina in her heart had wanted to ask why the scenario works so far but she felt that she was not yet in a favorable position.

Just as usual, Toni sat seriously at the desk watching the results of her work. The exhaust fan lit up to dispose of the air in Toni's office. Yeah, Toni was back smoking just when Helnina came to Elijah's Baptist Thanksgiving. Rina could not ban Toni because at least Toni remembered what Lina had asked if she wanted to return to smoking. A basket of clothes was also in the room, waiting to be washed by Toni. Everything looked normal, as Rina asked. If there's one thing that's a little weird about Toni is the way she dresses. Toni did schedule to discuss the scenario with Helnina but the clothes she was wearing were arguably untidy. Shirts are commonly used to go to church, hair that is dry and somewhat wet and pants that use jeans. I don't know what kind of meeting Toni will be following.

Toni looked at her HP which read due to a message from Helnina. There is a link to attend the meeting at eleven p.m. Toni smilingly reads a message from Helnina and ignores a message from Rina asking her to help clean up the house. Rina took Elijah to immunize early in the morning and is likely to be home before lunch. There was still about an hour less to prevent his wife from getting angry but Toni chose to read an email from Helnina containing a revision of it. There was some misusing the capital letters in it and made Toni itch to fix it. The desire made Toni dissolve into an impromptu second revision that her producer gave her until the time of showing at eleven and the meeting was about to begin.

Rina finished parking her car in front of the house and took the sleeping Elijah out of the car. He deliberately did not park his car inside because later in the afternoon he will go with Toni to attend the premiere of the film starring Helnina. Actually, Rina was lazy to accompany her husband because she still could not bear to leave Elijah at her mother's house. Especially at Tuti's house. The condition of Tuti's house that is always crowded and full of cigarette smoke makes it very avoid leaving Elijah there. At least, at the Rani family home he knew that Bambang would not smoke near his granddaughter. Rani also knew Marni would not hesitate to throw Bambang in flip-flops if she smelled a cigarette on her husband's shirt before holding Elijah. Lina slowly headed towards the door of the house and opened the door. Just entering the house, Rina clicked in annoyance. Lina looked around her and there had been no change at all. The mop tool that Rina deliberately prepared for Toni is still in the initial position.Tak want emotion and finally make Elijah who is still asleep because of the immunization effect, but, Lina walks to her room to put Elijah in the sleeping basket and meets Toni in her study.

Rina knocked on Toni's office door. Toni's voice sounded with a familiar female voice. Helnina's Voice. Rina knocked again on the door of the room and this time there was the sound of the chair being pushed back. Toni opened the door of the room and found Rina standing looking at her in disappointment and wonder. Disappointed that Toni did not do her request, astonished that Toni looked so neat for the meeting that was done inside the house.

“Mas, why not dipel floor?” ask Rina.

Toni scrunched her forehead. It was as if trying to think and outwit Rina because Toni was not working on his wife's request. Rina was still focused on looking at Toni, asking for an answer from her.

“Loh, did you ask for help? I was busy examining this presentation scenario. Not perfect check HP,” kilah Toni on his wife.

Rina exhaled slowly, annoyed at hearing Toni's reply. Wanting her to raise the volume so that Toni realized besides the message, Rina had asked Toni for help before she left but could not. He doesn't want to ruin Toni's job. Toni needs this project in order for her move to become a more established screenwriter to come closer.

“Iya already Mas, there is another meeting,” said Rina slowly.

Toni scratched her head as if she did not feel well enough to disappoint Lina.

Slowly Lina left Toni watching Lina. Toni feels bad for his wife but what to do. He had chosen to ignore Rina's request. Only lying is Toni's only way to save her from her wife's rampage.

The clock shows at half-hour one. Lina had finished mopping the floor of the house and prepared lunch at the dining table. Milk for Elijah was prepared for Rina, just waiting for Elijah to wake up. Lina closed her eyes and regulated her breathing. Rina tries to gather the rest of the energy inside her to call Toni in the study and take her to lunch. Just walking for a while, Toni's office door opened. Toni who was already wearing casual clothes walked over to Lina.

“Sorry yes, I just finished this,” Toni said.

“Iya gapapa, the food is ready. I did not take time to cook, the potluck was the same as I had been,” replied Rina.

Toni immediately sat down on the dining chair and looked towards Rina who was actually away.

“Loh, you don't eat all of them? ask Toni.

“You can do your work space first,” replied Rina while staying away from Toni.

Toni scoops the rice from the centong and then takes the side dish on the dining table.

Rina arrived inside Toni's study. He shook his head to see the work room that had fallen apart since Helnina asked Toni to work on a long version of the short film they had made. With painstakingly Rina arranged a screenplay print that splattered on the workbench and made it into one pile. The order was not noticed by Rina. He just wants to finish this immediately because he knows if it is not done immediately then Toni will work long. While collecting the screenplay prints, Rina's hand accidentally nudges Toni's laptop mouse. Toni's laptop is on. Rina turned to Toni's laptop and looked at Helnina's email. At first, Rina did not comment on the revised content of Helnina. The use of capital letters that are not in place that makes Rina uncomfortable with what she sees. Rina looked outwards. Elijah crying. Rushing Rina left Toni's study to calm Elijah down.
