Changing Fate: Monster Girl

Changing Fate: Monster Girl
Chapter 5 - Pilgrimage to My Grave

This is where Kyara ends up. A public funeral is located around the house. It felt strange, seeing his own name engraved on a tombstone.

The mound still looks red, but it has begun to dry up. Just like the flowers studded on it, it had dried up and turned brownish in color. Of course, it's been three weeks since he was pronounced dead.

“Who is in here? Is it just an empty cemetery? Or is someone replacing me inside?” think Kyara.

His thoughts kept repeating to the chatter between Maria Zephyra Andhakara and Restu Daniswara.

"What made Maria change? How did Sisters Maria and Restu trick her death in front of everyone, including papa and mama?"

The question kept spinning in the head of that twenty-one year old girl. He did not expect that his brother would betray him. Even Kyara was unaware, how long the two of them had planned to kill her.

Kyara keeps trying to remember the events before she is unconscious. The most sticky thing in his memory was when he was trying to control the steering wheel of his car that lost its direction.

Ah, naw. The week before was very strange. Kyara still remembers it clearly.

Unlike her twin sister, Kyara is not allowed to drive her own vehicle. He has an official SIM.

His reason? Of course both her parents said, because Kyara grew up physically and mentally different from her twin sister.

Kyara has Ellis Van Creveld syndrome. Kyara's growth is different from girls her age. Her body was much shorter than a woman her age. The fingers are like that too.

Kyara is often referred to as a ugly woman. This will make it difficult for him to carry a vehicle. That is why he was never allowed to carry a vehicle alone.

Every day, Kyara goes to college or school using public transportation. Occasionally if the weather is not friendly, Kyara is also escorted by the mother's private driver.

But one week before the fateful incident, Maria suddenly kind to him. Maria allows her car to be used by Kyara.

Papa and Mama also allowed their youngest daughter to drive alone. Their reason this time was, Maria already had a new car. And Kyara is old enough to travel alone.

On that fateful day something strange happened again. Maria who is usually always busy, that day plunged directly into the kitchen. The woman who hated the kitchen so much made it Kyara's favorite food.

The weirdness continues. The vehicle Kyara used several times suddenly had problems on the road. When he arrived at a street junction downhill, the poor girl did not manage to stop her car even though she had stepped on the brakes as hard as she could.

"Ah, is that car also part of the plan that Brother and Restu said earlier? How far are they planning to eliminate me? “Do mama and papa know about their rotten plans?" kyara thought suspiciously.

Kyara's tears are no longer flowing. His heart was too sick, to cry.

“I still remember, how I pressed the brakes hard and then slammed the steering wheel to the left so as not to hit another rider. Then..”

Kyara raised her eyeballs. A second ago he suddenly recalled something, which made his body goosebumps in fear.

“I remember, I saw a girl who emerged from behind the trees on the sidewalk. I didn't get to see his face,” muttered Kyara.

“But... Did I kill someone? May they deliberately exchange his body for my identity?” kyara thought she was panicking.

“No, I can't lose to both of them. Maybe this was also part of their plan. Which means I have to find evidence of the accident.”

...🌺🌺🌺...

Two hours before the funeral.

“Go you, scavenger. Miss Maria did not allow anyone to enter her private area, "said the security officer who Kyara was very familiar with.

“Pak, it's Kyara. Don't you recognize me anymore?” ask Kyara.

“This belongs to Kyara, sir. Even I know a secret place to store certain flower seeds. The fifth drawer from the right in the orchid room, it's a sunflower seed spot, right?” kyara assured.

“Wah... It turns out that you are not only a scavenger and a vagrant, but also a stalker, yes. This place used to belong to Miss Kyara. But now that monster girl has died,” said the man.

“Ga-monster girls?” Kyara could not believe the words were coming from the man's mouth.

“Now this private flower garden has got the right owner. Beautiful young lady,” continued the man.

“No way, everyone turned around behind me. Those who used to always praise me, now turn their tongues back to scorn,” cry Kyara in the heart.

Kyara turned around, from her private garden. The flower garden is Kyara's eighteenth birthday gift from mom and dad.

In the past, everyday Kyara could spend all day just to take care of various fruit, vegetable and flower plants in this place.

In that place too, Kyara often aloof to calm the heart. Nobody bullied him there. He felt free in the park.

However, five months ago he turned the private flower garden into a public reading park, which is commonly visited by many people, especially children.

Papa and Mama also allow it, because the park is already owned by Kyara. And that's Kyara's only last hope of shelter tonight. Where is he going now?

An hour before the funeral...

"Uncle George, it's Kyara."

The girl banged on an office door made of glass. It was the home of his father's friend. And that's where Kyara used to certify that the garden land was hers.

"Uncle!" Kyara banged on the tightly shut door many times.

Why does Kyara keep coming to people's homes? Was he always expelled? The answer is, Kyara is a girl who does not give up easily.

Begging out? Maybe that's what others see. But for him, it was a way to defend his rights.

Doc! Doc! Doc! Kyara continued banging on the door.

"Ckk! Who, anyway? Go you, padlock. We don't make any donations to anyone" the man, named George, said

"I'm Kyara Zevania Andhakara, Uncle. The daughter of Doctor Evander."

"Cannot be. Kyara's dead and I buried her."

"You must be wrong people. I can explain everything about Kyara. Ah, naw. You can check my fingerprints."

"Basic impostors. I made sure my youngest daughter Andhakara died of her own stupidity. Lord Andhakara has even issued a will, all of Kyara's wealth has officially become Maria's."

"Haaahs... Evan's choice was right. Otherwise, there must be a lot of people of your kind hanging around here."

It seemed like there was really no hope for him to seek help or clues around his family. He must be strong and independent. Kyara reorganized her strategy to reclaim her rights.

Walking around, Kyara went somewhere. It's getting dark. He hopes to stay in that place for a while.
