"Sister... won't you join us for dinner together?" I woke up— opened my eyes slowly. The little boy was already sitting in front of me while crossing his legs— propped up his chin with his hands.
I'm still curious about him. "Are you really my sister, whose name is Miko?" manya curious.
He patted jidat—telling, "Of course I'm Miko Kak Amed. The funniest sister that Brother Amed and Sister Reza ever had." He smiled at me.
"Rather than talking, mending now Amed's sister is coming with Miko." He pulled my hand, told me to get out of bed. He led me to walk into the dining room. I shook my head to explain that if I was different, it wasn't as easy as it used to be to stand up and walk.
He scratched his head, apologizing for forgetting that. "Sir Amed, Miko is leaving for a while, I'll wait here!" Not even a few seconds, WUUUSH!! Miko was perfectly gone so quickly.
Then BUUSH! He's back again—sit on my bed. "Sorry, Miko made sister wait a little longer." Miko chuckles.
"Miko went to find reinforcements, to help Brother get to dinner together." Miko walked to the edge of the room door, peering outwards to make sure her summoned ones had come.
Miko waved her hands, telling them to come to the room that Miko should not have to do because of course the servants already knew where they had to go.
The servants came and helped me get on the wheelchair. "It's enough to get here, everything. I'll push my brother, " said Miko. He went behind me—began to push me down the aisle. Seen behind us, the servants had already left—out of the room after finishing helping me.
Everyone in the kingdom, almost all of them wear white robes, except Talon who wears a white coat and Miko who only wears a vest as a top and sports training pants as his subordinates.
"Why does everyone in this kingdom wear white robes, but you and Talon don't wear them?" I asked him, wanting to know a lot.
"For me the robe will only slow my movements. My clothes are lighter now and do not make it difficult for me to move and run. If it's Talon, I don't know why he wouldn't wear a robe like most people."
I nodded for a while then continued asking, "Why should I wear a robe? And why is everything always brought in white?" I looked up to see Miko's face. "If the problem. Brother immediately asked Father, Miko does not know such a problem. Only Dad rules, who understands." I nodded again—back look towards the front.
We both arrived. In front of me was already a door as tall as an adult human. Miko knocked on him, not long after the door was opened from the inside by one of the servants who seemed to have been standing in his place a long time ago. We entered and the door was closed.
There was a long table in the middle of the room. All the benches are filled by everyone, Miko told me that if not all the benches are filled, there are two more near the King.
The king has seen our arrival since we came from the door. He came over, changed with Miko to push me.
"You'll get used to all this Amed. Trust me, Dad." I nodded as if I believed. I still cannot trust this King. I still don't know the truth, whether he's really Dad or just wants to make the most of it by claiming to be Dad. Until the time comes.
I've been sitting next to Miko. The king returned to his seat after helping me move to the seat.
King back standing—lifting glass—knocking him, TING TING TING. Everyone is now focused on the King. "Okay everyone, tonight is the most special dinner for me, because you can see now my two children, my two blood descendants have joined to sit between us for dinner together. Amed and Miko, my greatest children." The king smiled a glance at me.
The servants took me some side dishes and rice, poured water in my drinking cup. The food in this world did not look different from the world I came from, it was just that I was still not used to drinking water that was as deep blue, as deep sea water.
Miko looks ravenous, no different from when she was a child. He saw me see him—smiling while thrusting chicken thighs. "Eat brother! when else can you eat well?" I accepted. Miko continued eating.
Everyone was done with their food, as were Miko and I. I was helped by the servants to get back on my wheelchair. The king first grabbed the handle of my wheelchair, telling the servants that the King would push me to the room. The king also told Miko to go straight to his room to rest. One of the spry waiters ran towards the door—opened it for us.
"Slow down Miko, don't—" BUUUUSSSHHHH!!! Miko had already run fast and disappeared. The king chuckled— shook his head, astonished to see Miko who was still childish at the age of her who began to be a teenager. "Your sister still looks funny like she was 10 years old." I saw wonder in his direction. She knew Miko when she was 10?
I don't stop looking up all the way in the hallway— saw her. The king looked back at me and asked, "Why Amed? Is there something wrong with my face?" I shook my head firmly, there was certainly nothing wrong with him, only I was curious about him.
We both arrived at my room. The king helped me get out of my wheelchair, into my bed. "So why did Amed see Dad like that along the way? Amed still can't accept that your father is a king now?" He smiled gently at me.
I said, "I'm just still not sure if you're the Dad I've been looking for all this time, a great scientist who never gave up. How can you go so far as to be a king." He laughed hearing that, instantly explaining the beginning of everything as he entered into this world.
"Originally you know, son. The island where we rest and eat on it now was not as beautiful and grand as it is now. I with the help of some cold-handed people who came, because sorry to see the state of this island immediately decided to cooperate and committed to build this one island. But the residents here only saw your father, and did not notice the other cold-handed people who helped. Until finally, the community made Father as their leader in the hope of nourishing their lives in the future." I just kept watching her tell stories.
"Well yeah, Amed now understands. But what do you mean by cold hands? Are they creatures with ice-shaped hands?" Dad laughed at it, telling me if cold hands were just a term for people who can carry out and fulfill all their obligations and responsibilities. I nodded while understanding.
I continued to ask the thing that appeared instantly, "Then where did the other cold hands go, Father? I haven't seen them since I came here."
"They decided to look for the island themselves and build it with their own hands. If you go to every island, son, can I make sure that some of them are already great leaders there." I nodded back, only listening to Dad with his explanation.
The clattering of feet sounded, the closer and clearer his voice was. A talon appeared from behind the door followed by two maids. "The King's State. There's an intruder penetrating the West side of Singgede Island!" exciting Talon. Hearing that, Dad told me to take care of myself, immediately got up and turned back and ran out of my room followed by Talon and the servants.
I sat on the bed, in the dark and lonely room. The sound of their feet grew distant and more and more vague, and then disappeared.
Not long before the head appeared from behind the wall.
Talon, why is he here? "What are you doing here? Isn't there a precarious situation? Why don't you follow Daddy and the other servants?"
"Stop asking, son. Get on this chair immediately, I'll get you to safety as soon as possible." I just kept quiet according to being raised on my wheelchair.
The talon pushed me down the hall to the right, which was clearly opposite to the direction Father and the other servants left. "Which way are we going?"
The talon did not reply, only pushing me further down the hallway.
