COOLDER
12: THE CURSED WAY

"Naah.just a few more turns we get to the Med." We both walked for about fifteen minutes.

I didn't think it would be safe during the trip, I thought there would be some animals that would interfere with our trip, in fact everything is safe. "The animals on this island are collected somewhere, Vi said. Therefore, since then there have been no wild animals seen passing by," explained Dema. I-oh—nodds to understand.

I look around. It might be nice if the animals were left alone, the atmosphere of the forest could not be as quiet as this, it even looks like a city park to me, if there is no animal.

Dema stopped pushing me. I look ahead. There was a small house standing in front of the two of us. "This is Dem's house?" many confused.

"This is his house." Dema further pushed me— closer to that little house.

A simple house, with two windows in front of it, does not look special at all. "You don't know what's in it yet Med," Dema cut.

Dema told me to wait in front of the house. He went into the house, calling Vi's name. Dema's back had already disappeared behind the walls of the house, but the screams of her calls were still heard from the front.

"Who are you and what are you doing up ahead?" Someone from behind stuck a knife to my neck. I raise my head—tell him if I'm looking for someone named Vi.

Someone behind me asked again, "How do you know the name..." Dema walked slowly— out of the house, made the person behind me stop talking.

The knife stopped sticking to my neck, someone behind me walked forward to meet Dema. "There must be something. What did you mean by your arrival, Dema?" ask the black-robed man.

Dema told me, "We need your help Vi. More precisely, we need the intelligence of a Vi right now." Dema chuckled for a moment. Someone hit Dema's arm, told her to go in first to talk inside the house. Dema nodded, pushing my wheelchair back inside the house of the person in the cloak earlier.

The man told us to wait for a while in the front room, while he walked into a room that was not too big, on the right side after the entrance.

It didn't take long, A short-haired teenage girl with green hair came out from inside the room—now standing right in front of the door—looking our way.

His hands were busy tying his hair, he asked Dema, "So what do you need Dem, to lead you to see me again?"

"Before Aing tells you, introduce. In front of this aing was Amed, diaaa.... What are we, Med?" Dema chuckles—asked me.

"We're brothers. Introduce me Amed's brother Dema." I stretched my hand towards him. He didn't shake, just nodded. "It's just your faces I can't distinguish." He then walked to our back, approached a closet—took a small jar, and opened it. He offered a candy to Dema and me, we accepted it. He took a chair and sat down near us.

Dema holds my shoulder—tells me, "Include Med, this is Vi who I was telling you about on my way here." Vi nodded listening, then said, "What have you said about me Dem?" Vi raised his eyebrows while his mouth was still chewing on candy.

"Not much, just a few opening sentences an introduction. I have a friend who's good at Vi, then blablabla and so on." Dema grimacing.

"Alright, get to the point Dem. What do you need here? What can I do?"

Dema answered briefly, "We need a portal to return to Amed's home island, my brother." Vi stood up without answering. Go to the room inside.

Dema asked me, "Vi where? Why not answer?"

"Either. He just left, went into Dem's room, "I explained.

After Dema and I stayed outside for about five minutes, Vi came back up.— told me and Dema to follow him right now. Dema pushed my wheelchair.

We stopped, and in front of us was a ladder. "About this wheelchair technology can adapt to a variety of circumstances. Let me check." Vi lowered her head behind me, pressed a button and suddenly a wind blew, and then the wheel of my wheelchair turned oblong with serrations all over.

We finally resumed walking down the stairs to a hallway with minimal lighting. We walked about five meters, then arrived at a room.

Vi pushed the door and we followed him into the room. "I have a portal of Dema. But my portal can only be used to one purpose." Vi approached an object covered in a cloth. Vi stuck his cover cloth, then saw a round-shaped object, the same as the portal made by Father but half the size smaller than Father's.

"Where is the direction of the portal's destination?" tanya Dema wanted to know.

Vi replied straightforwardly, "To Tanpanama Island." Vi turned on the switch that made the room bright. The lights turn on, followed by the sound of a computer desing machine in the room that also turns on.

Dema again asked, "Why did you make a portal to Tanpanama Island? Doesn't everyone know that the island is full of danger?"

Vi agreed with what Dema said, though, but Vi has to do that because there is an important component that only exists on the island that will later make this artificial portal can be used to go anywhere, not only islands that can be visited, but other worlds will also be easy to visit if Vi has one component.

"Well, let's go in and get it right now." Dema stepped up confidently.

Vi's hand first held Dema—'s body making it stop. "We need the readiness of the Dema. Many obstacles on the island, you also know that."

"Do we still have Med time?" Dema asked me.

I said softly, "Actually our time has gone on and on and on."

"Look, you can hear it yourself Vi. We don't have much time."

Vi shook his head— explained, "Whatever the time is, we use it as much as possible to prepare ourselves. I never knew the word late. Everything has its own way, if something is ours, it will be ours. So...be patient a little Dema, let's prepare first." Vi holds Dema's shoulder and goes to turn off the switch— making all the electricity in the room turn off again.

The three of us went back upstairs. Vi walked first, in front of us. "Maybe we can start tomorrow in the back yard of my house. We'll maximize all the abilities that I, and you two have. How's it?" vi asked as he walked steadily towards the middle room.

"No one can resist. You lead the way Vi," Dema replied shortly. Vi chuckled at hearing that.

...***...

Dema and I waited in the living room for half an hour.

"So Vi said what would Med cook for?"

I replied, "Cooking meat soup. Whether he said he would use what meat, I'm less—"

"I'm just cooking chicken soup. Nothing is different and special..." Vi threw a bowl of soup at both of us. "Do you want me to cook another meal?" Vi's tone was slightly elevated. Dema immediately exclaimed "No".

The three of us sat on the terrace floor of Vi's house, enjoying the soup Vi made this afternoon. And just wait a few minutes, the sun will sink and change with the moon.

Vi put his bowl in front of his feet, explaining the initial preparation plan.

We both always nodded at every pause of his explanation. Almost half an hour Vi explained, we just nodded. "Sip. Re-explain what you said that you already understand."

Dema and I simultaneously explained that the first thing we will do is self-training. Explore competence in yourself further.

Vi nodded happily. "I guess you just nodded, but didn't understand. It turns out that nod really you guys did because you guys did understand," Vi praised seeing the two of us.

We finished the meal. Vi stood up bringing in his bowl and also ours to wash inside.

"Waaah indeed, women are now always sensitive to everything. Though clearly Med, aing has not finished talking, but as if Vi already knows everything." Dema chuckled—walked then laid herself on the floor of the living room.

Not waiting long, Vi finally returned. He returned with a rectangular box. Vi put it on the floor, he stepped on it and simsalabim, the box had already turned into a multi-story bed.

"Waah Jengkarta Island technology. Where did you get his Vi? Isn't Jengkarta not selling the technology off the island?"

Vi replied to Dema's question, "I have an insider. My confidants have spread to every island. Help me get everything."

Vi told us to get some rest, because tomorrow it's all about to start. We have to have a lot of energy, so that all the process runs smoothly.

Dema and I agreed, we went straight to each bed. Dema's in the top bunk and I'm under it.

"Sleep well Med. Tomorrow we will train to be able to reach the maximum point of both of us," Dema said while covering her face with a pillow.

I said, "Yes Dema. I hope we both find our respective max points and can fight more to help Vi get the components he needs, so we can go back to—" I'm not done yet speaking, Dema snored first.

Well, tomorrow is a golden opportunity for me to seek my competence. I don't want to miss tomorrow's opportunity. I also need to go to bed soon.

Tomorrow. After sleeping for about five hours, I stayed on the bed for a few minutes. Dema was still snoring loudly on her bed.

After that, I got up and climbed into my wheelchair. Then I turned the wheel—moved to the porch of the house.

Still just in front of the door, a cool breeze had hit my entire body, reminding me of the atmosphere in Malang City.

"Eh Amed's. Wake up faster than your twin." Vi walked out of the room inside. I smiled back. I still don't know what we'll do first. Dema is also still not awake, the time is running and the faster the better, if it fails there will still be a lot of time left to correct the shortcomings for the sake of the shortcomings.

"Later we'll focus on you two first Med. Figure out what power you have, and then be able to follow what will happen in the future," explained Vi.

"DAD." AHH." The enema suddenly evaporates. "Eh, hello everyone, you're up early." Dema has risen—sitting on her bed. Vi told Dema to get ready. Dema assented and went straight down.

Dema pushed me, and was led by Vi to the field behind her house.

Vi says, "Yesterday I slept a little late to prepare some necessities for this morning." On the edge of the field, there was a two-foot-tall iron box.

"Don't ask Dem. I don't need to explain the contents, the box itself will show it." Vi walked up to the iron box, we were two feet away from Vi.

Vi said, "They helped me pull the other side. Third count pull yes. One...two...three, pull." DEBUUSH. DENGS...DENG...BUM. Suddenly, it was dark around us. "Wait a minute!" Vi told us to wait where we were.

DUG DUG. Vi hits something, then NGUUUUNG!! All around us became light. The box turned into a laboratory-like room with a smaller scale. Dema ran here and there, spinning all over the side of the room. "Dema stop. I don't want you ruining my stuff!" Vi exclaims—meneggur Dema.

"Good Vi forgive me." Dema grumbling walked next to me. I mocked him, laughing softly. Dema punched me in the arm. I complained, punched back but Dema avoided it first. "Take a look later." I snorted in annoyance. Vi explained what he was going to do.

"It starts with you Amed!" Vi pointed at me being the first. Dema immediately led me into the middle of the room before I could make an opinion. "Let's have a brother spirit." Dema patted my shoulder.

Vi told me to try whatever I wanted to try. I thought for a moment. Looking for references to all the superheroes I've ever seen.

Running fast is not my advantage. Flying is impossible too. I thought, what kind of power can a paralytic who just sits in a wheelchair have.

Gosh darn. I immediately remembered one of the same superheroes sitting in a wheelchair. He has the power to control the minds of others. Okay, I'll try it on to Dema. I'll read the boy's mind.

I stared at the goal toward Dema, trying to focus myself. "What are you doing? Is something wrong with me, Med?" Dema groped her face.

"Hey Dema, don't be noisy! Amed is trying." Dema chuckled, telling Vi that she forgot that the three of us were doing some power exploration.

Dema and Vi looked back at me who was still focused with my eyes glaring towards Dema.

Ah, it's so hard. It had been fifteen minutes that my eyes were glaring towards Dema. Nothing happened, but my eyes dried up.

"Eat him.minimal blinking Med, let's not dry his eyes." Dema patted my shoulder encouraging me to try once more. I nodded, I won't give up after one failure.

I'll try it one more time. More focused. I looked back at Dema with glaring eyes, not blinking.

"Tell aing. What have you been doing since? Glow towards aing. At least tell."

"aaaaahhhhhhhh. Oh, my God, it's not easy. You're just Dema. As long as I think about trying to do something else, it's good that free time you use to try." I turned the wheel of my wheelchair, moving towards Vi.

Vi said quietly, "It's okay Amed. No one was immediately successful the first time they tried, even a bird had to learn a few hours to fly into space." I immediately felt motivated by Vi. His words made me want to try once more after this.

"Okeeeeeee. Everyone, look at aing. Aing originally already knew what strength aing had. But aing thought about pointing it at you." Dema clenched her hands, then PLUP! Both of his hands grew.

Dema said, "And this doesn't just apply to aing's hands. Aing's feet can be." PLUG IN! The leg suddenly grew. "It can hurt even more if it makes people hit their heads." Dema chuckles— her hands and feet again shrink to normal size.

Jeez Dema's body can do such amazing rights. How he did it, and I don't know what I can do.

"Well Amed now it's your turn to try again." Vi pushed my wheelchair into the middle of the room.

I'm anxious. "What if I just waste time trying. I really don't have the strength?" I don't know why I'm so pessimistic.

Dema near—energize. "There are still plenty of opportunities. If aing can, let alone you Med!" firmly Dema.

All right, I'll try something else. Maybe I'll try to pull out a telekinesis technique like the superhero characters in my movie, just need a focused brain, I should. I look around. Looking for an object that I will use to test my technique.

"Try with this." Vi seemed to understand what I needed, he put a can in front of me. I thanked him for helping. "Sama-sama Med, you can definitely. Try it!"

I tried to focus more, staring at the can was a late-goal. Trying to get him to move places in an inch is enough.

Come on, move, mr. can! I growl. My face immediately veined.

Huft.I give up for now. My head is dizzy.

Dema walked towards me. "It's okay Med, tomorrow we try again. Maybe for now you can just rest," said Dema. I'm nodding. I look disappointing, just wasting time not paying off.

"To beware. I'm gonna put some gear in your wheelchair Med. I know your wheelchair's from Singgede Island, right? I really understand their characteristics, it's easy for me to modify them" Vi said.

Dema shouted cheerfully. "Waaaah. That would be so cool! Isn't that Med?" I smiled, happy to hear it. I was willing to do or give anything, as long as it could make me useful, and not just be a meat in a wheelchair.
