COOLDER
8: THE HOPE THAT IS BORN

I parked my car in the parking lot provided in the lab area. The laboratory at night looks magnificent because it is surrounded by light released from the many spotlights arranged in a row on the ground that circles the laboratory building.

One of the night watchmen in the lab came up to me and asked me why I came nighttime to the lab. I explained the meaning of my arrival. Then the officer asked me, telling me to wait for a moment at the post where he was standing guard.

“Hei son. What are you looking for tonight like this?” ask the other guard officer who is sitting in a chair inside the post.

The officer who brought me explained, “Tell this boy, he was looking for his brother who had been here for two hours.” The other officer told me he hadn't seen anyone come since this afternoon.

“You wait here son with my friend, I will ask the guard on the other side,” I thank him, then sit in one of the seats in the post.

From inside the post, I could see almost all the corners around the laboratory just through the monitor screen on the table in this post.

About half an hour waiting, the officer returned. “Nak, the entire unit of officers no one saw your brother coming here,” explained the officer. I wondered, then thought about where did Reza's sister go? Two hours is not a minute.

“Good gentlemen, thank you for your help.”

“No pardon us for not being able to help you look for it.” The officer patted my back, telling me not to give up before finding my brother. I nodded and thanked him again and went to the car park. I opened the car door, directly slammed my back into the chair.

I took the car keys out of my pocket, about to put them in the keyhole, but... DEERPR. Suddenly the road shook, making my car keys immediately fell to the ground floor of the car.

I hurriedly picked it up, straight out of the car. I walked towards the guard post earlier, but the officers were no longer there. I went in, looking at the monitor. The officers were seen running into the laboratory building, whether they were all going to go where.

DEEERR.

The vibration was back felt. What the hell is going on in there?

“Amed...what is this? Why is the ground shaking like just now?” I didn't heed Dema's question, I was already busy running around looking for access to the building. I ran towards the back of the building, as it was obvious that there were many officers on the main line at the front door.

Shit, now I'm in but I don't know where to go.

“Hei Med's...BIPS.”

“What's the Dema?” I'm upset because I don't know where to go, Dema interfered.

“No. Who says aing is just a pervert, look next to you Med!” I immediately turned to the right side, my anger dodging, like finding a lantern in the darkness of the world. I just found a lab floor plan taped with adhesive on the wall near the entrance. I immediately tore it off the wall— took it as a guide I found the room I was going to.

I opened the door not far from where I had entered, starting to walk down the first hallway. “Where are you going now Med?” My steps suddenly stopped, right. How am I gonna get there if I don't know where the shock was from.

“That kind of thing could possibly happen where Med?” I paused, thought and remembered something. I now remember and knew what to step foot into the room.

“Dema. If something unexpected happens, just take control of the body. I beg of you.”

“Of course Med, you don't need to think about it, I will always take care of us.” I am calm about one thing, it is time to think about something else. I opened the floor plan, looking for the way to the Trial Room.

Finally met, about five meters from here I have to turn to the right, there will be a door where the two big-bodied guards led me, Reza and Mama there.

Dema muttered, she said if her premonition warned of something bad would happen. “Means that way, the moment you are most waiting for will soon arrive Dem.” I chuckle at him.

“You still have time to laugh at a time like this Med.” Dema sounded annoyed to hear me mocking her just now.

My footsteps stopped before turning. “You heard it Dema?”

“With clear Med. Aing even recognized whose voice it was.”

I peeked out from behind the wall, seeing Reza with someone I didn't know talking to the guards. “Just calm the gentlemen. Your commission has been set. Is that right not Rez?”

Reza laughed at the explanation of the person next to him. “Of course Roki. You just have to do your job well. The nominal paper problem we have prepared for each of you.”

The officer laughed back. Brother Reza with a person named Riko it looks familiar.

“They are walking towards kemari Med.” I had to hurry up and hide before they passed. I looked around, fortunately there was a trash can that fit my body size. “No Med, don't—" My body has already jumped into that garbage can.

“Two lads with lapsed money buddy. How can?” The officer laughed in wonder.

“Entah lah, as long as given the money I will not mind anything.”

The sound of their footsteps had already moved away from where I was hiding. I opened the trash can cover—trying to get out of that stinking place. I looked around me, making sure it was safe.

I was already standing in front of the door of the Trial Room— peeked inside from the small glass that was on the door. There are a lot of people wearing laboratory coats. Also seen is Reza who is holding a tablet, and next to him is his friend named Roki. I couldn't hear the conversation between them, probably because the room was soundproof, until it was like there was no activity inside.

“Are we going to keep standing in front of here until those officers come back and finally find us standing looking inside, like a little kid always curious?”

“Of course not.” I looked to my right and left, looking for access to the room other than through the door in front of me.

There.there is a ventilation hole, it should fit for my body to enter.

I opened the iron lid, curled inside. I crawled along the narrow ventilation passage. Walk steadily in the hope that this ventilation is connected to the ventilation in the Trial Room.

The deeper it goes, the hotter it gets, the harder it is for me to breathe. What the hell is going on?

I ignored, continuing on my path.

I feel like I'm getting closer to them. I can hear the sound...dengung? Her voice seemed familiar to my ears, I tried to remember what sound I was hearing right now.

“In front of Med, stay a few meters from here. We reach the end.” I kept crawling, not knowing stop before it got to the end.

The Trial Room was only a few inches away from me, limited only by the iron vent cover in front of me. I'll find out soon enough. I peeked out from the blemish that was in the iron cover, making sure the surroundings were safe for me to get out.

All safe, I directly pushed the iron in front of me. “Slow-slow Med!” I reply “Iya.” Slowly.

There are several sides in this room that are not exposed to light. I can use it to hide from them, because I am not an invited guest, but just a dark guest who is not on the invitation list.

ZIIING!... ZIIING!... ZIEING!

My perfect move stopped. “What's Med?”

“It...” My eyes did not blink at all looking at him. “That's the portal I once opened Dem.” Am I dreaming? The path I had been looking for, opened up by itself, led me to him. My body seemed to move on its own, stepping forward towards the portal. “Hei Med's. What are you doing?” Dema asked astonished to see me continue to walk closer towards the portal

“AMED!!!”

Just a matter of a few seconds around me had first turned dark, I could not see anything. My eyes are covered with something. “Sorry, but aing should do it Med.” Dema just swapped places with me? When I was conscious? Dema had just done a new thing that she had never done so far.

“HEI MED!! You shouldn't be here!” I just fucked it all up. Reza now knows of my presence in the lab. Without waiting, Brother Reza immediately sent his men to arrest me, but Dema nimbly paralyzed them one by one.

Dema explained why I'm here tonight. Brother Reza did not want to listen, immediately ran towards Dema. “Gw want them back!” Reza's sister directly punched Dema's stomach. Dema grimaced, directly behind selling the attack. But Kak Reza already knew it, he first parried it and punched Dema back to hit back a few steps.

“Where did you learn martial arts? As you gw, you're just a snot boy who can't do anything.”

“Big is also your mouth sis.” Dema mocked back—lambang ran without waiting for another one from Kak Reza. Dema dealt a punch faster, because she knew if her opponent was above her, Dema always respected her opponent by fighting seriously.

BUGS!

Dema pouted slowly, holding her head. “That trouble paralyzed a little boy Rez?” As soon as everything turned dark, there was nothing I could see, and I had no idea what had just happened.

I won't stay silent. I will force my way into the portal, to meet Father and Miko, bring them back to this world. I closed my eyes. Now I can hear the conversation of all of them, because I am in control of the body.

“He who is Rez?” asked Roki who was folding his sleeves. Reza told me I was his sister. Roki was shocked to hear it, and thought that Kak Reza had been the only child of our family. I will take advantage of this moment, those who are careless will not think I will wake up sooner.

Yaks. Now time! I stood up and ran towards the portal.

“HEY! How could? Stop him now!” Kak Reza's subordinates immediately ran, scrambling to catch me. But I've stayed a few steps away from the portal. And...ZUUUUM!!
