Chapter 3 - Continuing the Journey

A few minutes passed and the meat that had been grilled by Clay was almost cooked.

The smell of flesh that smelled the nose was so fragrant, making Isabel wake up from her sleep.

When Isabel opened her eyes, she saw Clay burning a few pieces of meat not far from her.

“Kakk... Older brother... What meat is that? Where did you get this meat?” Isabel asked as she approached Clay and then sat down next to him.

“This is the flesh of the horned wolf monster that attacked me earlier... Although this is monster meat, you should not be disgusted... Our stomachs have not filled anything." Clay answered with a sweet smile on his face.

Isabel did not refuse, instead she was eager to eat it immediately while putting on a sullen look. "Who is disgusted? I wanted to eat him alive because he hurt my brother!"

"Haha... Haha... Haha... You're so funny." Saut Clay while laughing out loud.

Finally the monster meat had matured and they both ate it very greedily.

Time passed, they both had finished eating and now their stomachs were full.

Isabel asked Clay. "Sister, do you know where we are?"

"No. I don't know where we are."

"Where is the west side? Didn't Dad ask us to go West... I'm afraid we're just moving away and heading the other way." Said Isabel while tightly grasping Clay's hand.

Clay was silent for a moment after Isabel clasped her hand tightly and then she answered Isabel's words gently. "Silence, Isabel... I'll always protect you, and we better keep going."

"But... Doesn't it matter if we go the other way?"

Clay went back to silence and tried to think. "Before, we were chased by the horned wolf until we forgot where the city we were seven and ended up lost... Even today I don't know which way is east, west, north and south... I have to think about how to know the direction of the West... Oh yeah, why don't I just look for the sun?"

Right now the two of them were already completely lost because right now the two of them had gone far out of the connecting path between cities.

After a while later, Clay had managed to climb up the tree and now he could see the scenery widely.

In Clay's view, he only saw the abundance of lush green trees and the blue of the clear sky.

Clay looked up at the sky, trying to figure out where the sun was.

"His heart is there and it looks like it'll be sinking in a few hours... It must be west." Clay murmured while enjoying the view and occasionally looking towards the sun.

Moments later, Clay came down from the tall tree and said to Isabel.

"okay... Now we're going west."

"Okeee..."

They both set their feet and left the place.

Walk casually and while occasionally alert for monsters.

Although Clay and Isabel are currently in a forest that is quite a safe zone, but still there must be some monsters that inhabit the forest.

As before, the two of them were suddenly attacked by horned wolves inside the liaison lane between cities, even though the liaison path between cities was lacking monsters.

And in general, the wolf is a pack creature, while Clay was attacked by the horned wolf alone.

Surely the wolf monster is separated by his herd or it could be lost and eventually starved.

Right after the appearance of the Sharp Wind sword that came out of nowhere, of course it made Isabel surprised.

"Haaa!? Where did the sword come from!? Daritadi I didn't see brother carrying a sword... But why is there a sword in your hand that looks so good?" Isabel asked with a surprised look on her face, she kept trying to wonder at Clay.

Clay knew the danger before him was no big deal.

After about 30 minutes, Clay finally managed to kill all the Slime monsters.

"Huhuhh... So tired! Totally disgusting!" Clay said with a tired sitting while holding the slime marks attached to his shirt and body.

After seeing Clay finished dealing with a group of Slime, Isabel now ran up to him with a look of admiration.

"Great brother... Since when did you know how to fight? This Slime monster is notoriously hard to kill..."

Exhausted and currently breathing, Clay tries to lie to Isabel. "I've heard the story of an adventurer, if Slime's weakness is at the core."

"Oh so it is... Are you tired? We better get some rest."

"No. We have to keep going... We better avoid staying here overnight and hopefully there's a town or village nearby." Clay answered while trying to stand up from his seat.

While Clay and Isabel were trying to move their legs, they suddenly remembered the monster core that had been destroyed and tried to confirm it to the system whether the monster core was still usable or not.
