Chapter 31 - Veronica's Anger & Psychopathic Smile

Now the three slave girls told Clay and others a lot about him.

The three of them told me that they came from a small village on the outskirts of a wasted area.

All the bad luck that befell them began when the village where they lived was attacked by bandits.

Since all the villagers were just ordinary residents, they were certainly unable to fight back against the bandits.

Finally, the villagers were unable to struggle and only part of them could escape the attacks of the bandits.

While the other residents, they were arrested and detained by the bandits.

After being arrested, the bandits separated the villagers by gender.

For the male Demi-human race, they were all sold to various places to become slaves.

As for the female Demi-human race, they were not all sold, but were made slaves by bandits and used at will.

Day after day they went through a bitter life, even almost every day one of them had to lose their lives because of the torture and cruel treatment carried out by the bandits.

Eventually, they are rescued by Clay.

The three of them also told him about himself as well as the kind of change in their beast form.

Liza is a 19-year-old single woman, her animal form change is Butterfly.

Anna is a 20-year-old single woman, a change in her animal form is a Snake.

Veronica is a 30-year-old family woman, a change in her animal form is a Spider.

Hearing Veronica who was married, made Clay became curious and he asked. "Hmm, you already have a husband? Really!?"

Clay does not believe Veronica is 30 years old and has a family.

This happened because the posture and face of Veronica still looks like a teenager and does not look like a family person.

"Yes, Mr. Clay... I-I've had a husband." Veronica replied while bowing her head before Clay.

"Where is he? Did he manage to escape?" Ask Clay who's still curious.

Veronica lowered her head even more, she tried her hardest to toughen up and not shed tears in front of many people.

"He's... She'sdead... He lost his life to protect me from the bandits attacking the village..." Veronica replied while holding back the sadness that was in her heart.

Although Veronica tried her best not to show her sadness, Clay and the others understood what Veronica was feeling right now.

The atmosphere became silent and silent, no one dared to say for fear of saying words that made things worse.

The silence lasted long enough, until finally Clay did something that surprised everyone.

Right now Clay picked up his Sharp Wind sword which was in the inventory, then he placed the sword right in front of Veronica while saying. "Do you want revenge for your husband's death?"

Everyone was shocked to see and hear what Clay was doing.

Even though they were shocked, but still no one dared to say, they only fell silent while wondering inwardly.

"Reprisal her husband? But there are no more bandits here than Vargus... Or will Clay allow Veronica to kill Vargus right now? Did he undo his intention to hand Vargus over to Grandle's kingdom?" Ariana thought in her mind, she was constantly trying to guess what Clay would do next.

While on the other hand, Veronica who was still silent while bowing her head and staring at a sword that was before her.

Veronica clenched her palms very tightly and slowly her eyes became extremely sharp full of anger.

The feeling of sadness that was inside him, now turned into an angry rage and wanted to take revenge.

Clay saw for himself the change in anger that was clearly visible in the look of his face, and then Clay again said to Veronica. "Take the sword if you want revenge!" Now Clay said in a slightly firm tone, with the aim that Veronica was more confident in the decision she chose.

Without any hesitation, Veronica immediately took out the Sharp Wind sword and she grasped the handle of the sword very tightly.

Veronica wielded the Sharp Wind sword like a veteran swordsman, but she had never used a sword let alone killed someone.

"I want revenge, sir... I want to avenge my husband's death! Life pays for life!" Veronica said with anger.

Clay smiled at Veronica's reply.

"Good, I like that sharp look and your ass... We have to pay it back many times if we are hurt! But unfortunately, I have killed all the bandits in this base..." Clay was silent for a moment as he stepped closer towards Vargus.

Then Clay pulls Vargus and brings him to Veronica's face while continuing his words. "Except her... Vargus. He is the boss of bandits and also a former lord who has tortured you to death. Now you're free to torture him at will."

Just after Clay finished his words, he did not forget to signal through the eye glance at Melissa.

The eye-splitting code meant for Melissa to take Isabel out of the room.

Melissa nodded, she understood what Clay meant and immediately took Isabel out of the room.

Clay does this because he doesn't want his cute sister to see the cruelty that comes next.

Clay learns that violence can be mentally damaging to minors and may affect their nature and behavior in the future.

At the same time, Vargus did not just surrender, he tried to resist and rebel as hard as he could.

"Clay!! What the hell are you doing? Aren't you going to hand me over to the kingdom!?"

"Damn it... The boy!! I gave up everything I had, but you betrayed me!!"

"Don't do that! I still want to live!"

...

...

Vargus shouted loudly, trying to escape from the place but he could not struggle because of the chains and earth magic belonging to Clay and many Guild members who held him back.

Vargus' screams, ignored by Clay and focused only on Veronica.

"Wait for what else? Do as you please to him... But I hope, there's something interesting before you kill him..." Clay said with a sweet smile to Veronica.

The sweet smile Clay showed, it looked even more terrifying than a psychopathic smile of this world.

Even Ariana and the members of the Black Dragon Guild were afraid of seeing how terrifying Clay's smile was, even though they were completely uninvolved and wronged.
