After Clay gave 50 Gold to the Guild members and ordered the Guild members to take good care of his 90 new slaves, Clay went to his room alone.
Clay pondered and felt sad that his plan to free the Demi-human race had failed.
Inside his room, Clay was silent alone, daydreaming and thinking.
"What should I do? At first I thought that the Demi-human race was just kidnapped and sold... But in reality, after they were kidnapped, they were immediately forced to contract slave masters in order to survive longer and not commit suicide."
....
....
Clay continued to think and ponder, with a feeling of dilemma haunting his mind.
Clay stayed in his room for hours.
After pondering for so long, Clay muttered alone.
"Why am I staring and keeping quiet is unclear? I better ask myself what their will is." Clay muttered, now coming back out of his room.
Clay finally came out of his room, and now he saw many of his new slaves who had become unconscious.
Seeing Clay coming out of his room, Melissa and Zen approach Clay.
"Young master... Some of them are conscious... And we've also given them proper food and clothing." Melissa.
"Good job... Thank you all."
"Why don't you make them private slaves, sir? Do you intend to make them a member of the Black Dragon Guild?" Zen asked in a polite manner.
"No idea... Just think about it later. For sure I want to buy them so they don't get bought by the wrong people."
"Oh so it is... Thank you young master."
"Why are you grateful, Zen?"
"Because you have good intentions for our Demi-human race."
"Yes equally..." Clay paused for a moment, then he said again while sitting on the couch. "Gather them all together... I want to ask them about the future."
"Okay, young master."
Finally, they immediately went to the new slaves and gathered them all to face Clay.
Until a while later, now the 90 new slaves of the Demi-human race had gathered and faced Clay.
Their bodies still felt limp and some of them were frightened when they saw Clay.
They were frightened because they had not Clay's nature and attitude to the Demi-human race. On the other hand, they were also afraid of the rumors of a master who had always tortured his slave sadistically and cruelly.
That's what makes them look so scared.
"Relax... I am not a cruel master. I also have no intention of enslaving you either." Clay said to his 90 new slaves who were still awake.
Everyone was still speechless, they were still afraid of Clay.
Seeing the atmosphere, the members of the Black Dragon Guild tried to convince them.
"Really... Young master Clay isn't a bad man."
"Yes... He's the one who gave you food and clothes for you."
"I dare to guarantee, young master is not a bad person and will always look after us."
"Trust... We are both Demi-human races and we are also both young master slaves... There's no way we're lying to you."
"Don't be afraid and serve the young master well... Our lives will definitely get better. I dare to guarantee!"
...
...
Expressions of praise about Clay were continuously spoken by Guild members to gain the trust of the new slaves.
But they still could not believe it and were still silent with frightened faces.
The atmosphere was still silent for a few seconds, until finally there was one of them who ventured to answer Clay's question.
"I don't want to be enslaved... I want to live free!" Said one of the new slaves.
Clay smiled at the reply of the brave slave, while the rest of the slaves were surprised by his courage.
"Come here..." Said Clay while waving his hand for the person to approach.
Without hesitation, the slave stepped closer to Clay.
The atmosphere returned a terrifying silence, all eyes on Clay and the brave slave who wanted that freedom.
After the slave was now quite distant from Clay, Clay asked him. "What's your name?"
"Claude's... My name is Claude, sir."
"Are you sure you want freedom?" Clay asked again, now he asked with a serious look.
"Yes, sir. I want to live free." Reply to the boy with a confident face.
Clay was silent for a few seconds while staring at the look on his face, especially in the eyes.
"Well, I'll grant your request... But on one condition." Clay still stared at Claude's face.
"What is that, sir?"
"Don't commit a crime that could tarnish the Valonia family's good name."
Claude paused for a moment, then he answered Clay's words. "Good, sir."
"On your chest is written the surname Valonia... If you commit a crime, my brother and I as his master will get the impact."
"I understand, sir."
"promise! If you deny it, you'll have death."
"I promise I will not commit any crime and will not shame the surname of Valonia." Said Claude without hesitation.
Right after Claude stopped saying, a black fog suddenly appeared surrounding Claude's body.
Everyone was shocked to see the black fog, they all did not know what was happening so as to make the black fog like the slave master's contract process appear once again.
Slowly the black fog entered Claude's skin pores and bound his heart.
"Why this?" Clay asked with a surprised look.
"I don't know for sure... But if you don't remember wrongly, you and Claude have done a contract of promise between master and slave, young master." Melissa answered trying to answer with her science.
"Is there really a contract like this?" Ask Clay to Melissa.
"There's sir. This promise contract was a more cruel bronze for the slaves... A slave must keep and fulfill the promise he has promised to his master, no matter how and how he is. But if the slave reneges or does not keep his promise, then the punishment will immediately occur at that very moment."
"Really!? But when do I cast a spell?" Clay asked with a confused look.
Instantly several members of the Black Dragon Guild replied simultaneously. "Just now, young master."
"just new? I just gave him the terms and asked him to act..." Clay stopped his words, realizing that he had asked Claude to promise and Claude had promised him.
"Ah, so so... Without me noticing, I have made a promise contract between master and slave." Clay continued muttering but was heard by the people nearby.
After a few seconds, Clay resumed his conversation.
"Did you hear that, Claude? You've done a contract with me... If you renege on your promise, you'll lose your life."
Now that Claude's courage had faded a little, the look on his face turned a little pale after he had unknowingly done the slave contract.
Claude's guts were shrivelled, because he didn't know that there was such a contract.
Whereas before, Claude was just a fad to promise Clay so that he could live freely as he pleased out there.
But in fact, now he must be extra careful not to violate the agreement he has promised.
"Bright, sir." Claude answered with a pale face.
