DestinaRE ~ The Path I Followed

DestinaRE ~ The Path I Followed
Chapters 5. First Death

I'm Naito. They call me 'The Chosen One'. My arrival in this world made those who were waiting for the presence of the 'Chosen One' put great hopes on me. But after the fight, they no longer felt that hope in me. Disillusioned. Maybe that's how they feel seeing the figure that has been expected is only a burden.

A gust of wind in the middle of the battlefield shook a few strands of my hair. I stand alone. After Venn's all-out defense, I ran to leave him inside the refugee tent. Really cowardly. Until now I did not understand why a weak figure like myself should be the 'Chosen One'.

I lifted the sword that was attached to my waist, and then I looked at the shadow of half my face there.

Is no one else lying with me? my inner. Thinking about it, I feel better. If only it was true, it could have been the real 'Chosen One. But if there isn't?

For some reason, suddenly the shadow of Nayu crossed my head. How is he doing now, is he coming along with me, the questions keep haunting me. I'll be fine if he doesn't lie around, but if he gets here, I'm really not calm. He's just my little brother who doesn't know anything.

I hope he's okay.

"Mr Naito!"

I quickly put my sword back in the sheath. I turned around to find Venn panting calling my name.

"I'm looking for Mister everywhere, it turns out that Mister is here" he said, stabilizing his breathing. I didn't know he was looking for me anywhere, but looking at his flowing sweat, I think he ran quite a distance.

He's standing in front of me. Her blue short hair strands were clinging to her cheeks due to the sweat that almost soaked her entire face. But it seemed that the presence of the hair made him uncomfortable, he got rid of it. Tuck it behind the ear and tidy it up a little.

"Why did you go here? Are you angry because of them?" tanyakanya.

My head was down, not knowing what kind of answer I was giving. He's not right, but he's not wrong on the other side.

Seeing my head bowed, Venn apologized to me. I wanted to think that his apology was just a formality, but it wasn't. His voice vibrates. He even apologized for the words Bald Kekar II and the cynical look directed at me. He adored me as a 'Chosen One' figure, thinking my figure was a powerful savior even after seeing me unable to swing a sword.

"Venn, do you really believe I'm the 'Chosen One'?" my many.

"of course! Your courage has proven to me that you are truly the 'Chosen One'" he replied with confidence.

"But what if I'm not a figure in the prophecy? What if it turns out I want to run away from you?"

Venn remained silent. Although faint, I felt his face change. The leaves fell in the wind. It seems that maybe the leaves become a picture for me of Venn's trust in me who will soon fall until there is no left. I don't want him to expect more from me.

"I'm sorry. I'm not that strong. So stop acting like that to me," I said and turned around. I couldn't see her disappointed face.

After that I no longer heard his voice. Maybe he's gone and left me a coward alone now. It's better like this, I thought. I took my foot off that place, looking for another place I could make an escape.

"Then I just need to protect you, right?"

Deg.

Three steps back, I turned back. I can't believe Venn's still standing there. His eyes were still as sharp. Not even a inch of it I saw a disappointed look in his eyes. Again, I don't understand what it means to 'protect me'?

"If you're not the 'Chosen One', then you're just an ordinary person. A soldier like me, it's my job to protect civilians, isn't it?" it sounded so steady in my ears. His determination is so great. I am a coward who might dare to accept such determination.

I turned back without answering his last sentence. I'm not capable of it anymore. His statement only made me feel more depressed. I don't know if he'll leave me, I don't know. Obviously, my legs have been pushed away from him.

Again, had not had time to move further legs, information up to first in my ears. A seven-meter-tall rare monster is heading to where I and Venn are currently. Seven meters, it had even exceeded the capability limit of an S-class army.

Bugh! Bugh!

The sound of huge footsteps was already heard in my ears. The vibration also made me shaken so hard to stand up straight. It felt like a relentless earthquake. When I turned back around, the monster was already at a fairly close distance. His figure was more terrifying than the first one I saw upon arriving in this world.

On the back of the monster this time there were four additional hands and two large tentacles that were disgusting. His long fingers were already covered in blood, it seemed that he had already killed many before arriving here. It's impossible if I run away from this place.

Finish my history.

***

Ouch.

A girl in a high school uniform stands holding her dizzy head, her name is Nayu. His green eyes shimmered observing his suddenly changing surroundings. As he remembered, he was in the classroom watching his teacher explain trigonometry which he hated. But somehow, his classroom turned into a city whose buildings were mostly destroyed.

Am I dreaming? But why does it feel so real? He dragged his footsteps in an uncertain direction, thinking he was in a lucid dream. Both corners of her lips lifted up perfectly, carving a sly smile on her cute face. The look in his eyes really looked like a cunning criminal who had just obtained something valuable.

I can finally get away! that's how his head is at the moment.

He continued to drag his footsteps into a place. Until finally a tremor like an earthquake makes its steps stop. A giant four-armed monster and two tentacles appeared before his face. He shuddered in horror at seeing the monster kill so many people with his body as per the eyes of 7 meters tall Bayu.

Nayu ran as fast as she could to avoid the monster. "Why are my dreams so bad!" he continued to run. Even though the monster did not chase after him, he still ran to somewhere.

Bayu's green eyes caught the shadow of a familiar figure. The figure of the brown-haired young man and the same green eyes as him, who else if not Naito. Nayu barely recognized him because of the armor Naito wore. Her brother who from yesterday had not met her, now even appeared in her 'dream' Besides, she found her brother with a woman. A blue-haired sebahu that Nayu had never seen before, who else if not Venn.

Who her? Nayu wonders while hiding behind a tree peeping at her brother. If this lucid dream shouldn't it be under the will of Nayu? But why can't he control anything other than himself.

Her brother and Venn seemed to be in conversation, but Nayu could not hear a word from their mouths. But she could see, her brother was uncomfortable in the conversation. Like feeling tight. Bayu was about to approach the two, intending to expel Venn from his brother's presence, but he broke his intention when the huge monster appeared again. This time several battle tanks shot at the monster.

Nayu finds Venn advancing against the giant monster with a sword in his hand. The scenery in front of him currently looks like the action anime he had watched with his brother, but it looks so real. Seeing how Venn fights, Nayu makes the assumption that such a fight is common, and now the figure is protecting her brother.

Even so the monster seemed to easily throw Venn in one hand. Nayu finally found her brother raising a sword, about to fight the monster. Highlight the angry eyes he could see from his brother's green eyes. But again the monster easily throws Naito. The throw was louder than when he threw Venn.

"No, Brother!!!" Nayu was about to run towards Naito, but her legs were restrained. His body could not be moved and he could only look at Naito who was in pain in the presence of the monster. Nayu who still thought it was all a dream kept crying as she pleased. She's afraid.

"Someone, please save Brother Naito!!!" Nayu shouted as loudly as possible, but not a single person heard her screams. Until finally a light so bright devoured him, pulling him so far away from Naito.

"Save Brother Naito!!!" his screams for the last time, before he finally completely disappeared from that world.

***

My eyes kept watching Venn, now he's the only soldier who came face to face with the monster. The number of hands of the monster that much made him overwhelmed, plus the vibration due to the footsteps of the monster. Venn's body movements were agile, but his attacks missed several times due to the condition of his right hand which was injured. Even after seeing her trouble I still couldn't help her.

One hand of the monster managed to get Venn thrown away. I don't know what I was thinking, my hand reflexively raised the sword and advanced against the monster. My movements were so original and didn't hit the monster at all. In one libas, the monster's finger threw me away. My left shoulder was injured and I could feel my ribs cracking as well.

So hurt.

The familiar pain, which I never expected to return to, was instead given by a monster that was almost 4 times larger than me. My body really can't move.

"Sister!!!" A familiar voice caught my ear. I painstakingly turned my head, looking for the origin of the voice. Nayu, you're not here, are you? my mind is not because. I'm afraid that it really is Nayu's voice. At the same time, the monster's face was right above me.

Will I die this time?

In the duration of one blink of an eye, Venn had suddenly just flown in front of the monster's face. He thrust his sword into the monster's right eye, provoking the monster's wrath. His sword that was stuck he had not had time to unplug, the monster was already hunted to throw Venn with one of his hands. The throw was so hard, I'm sure Venn's bones must have been broken because of that. Neither did his body see him move after.

As much as I could stand, I tried to reach Venn. My mind was chaotic, filled with bad things that were likely to befall that old blue haired girl by the boat. I fear. At least I want to help him. Though our distance is not so far, but why is it so difficult I want to reach it.

The light that illuminated me suddenly disappeared, as if something was covering up. I saw that monster tentacle heading quickly towards me, as if it was about to stab me. I want to run, but I can't. My whole body is destroyed. At that moment my death was very close.

Until I feel so sure that I am the next one who will be the victim of this monster.

Not Venn.

My already broken body was pushed away. I don't know what happened, Venn took my place. The tentacle that moved so fast it pierced Venn's body, hitting his heart, penetrating to the back. I could see it, Venn's mouth spewing blood and his eyes wide open.

With a stand, the monster plucked its tentacles from Venn's body. His blood flowed like a waterfall. After seeing that, I could no longer hold back. My broken body cannot stand in my way. It hurts, but I still force you to run. Venn's torso drooped down before he fell to kiss the ground.

My eyes are heating up. The blood in my body was boiling holding Venn's body drenched in blood. Although the anger within me could no longer be controlled, my brain stopped me from acting rashly. Makes me realize there's nothing I can do.

It's because of me.

"AAARGH—" my screams held. I don't know if I have the right to cry out in despair after making someone else die. Be ill. Stuffy. I'm sick of this endless feeling of guilt. Even if I return, there is no way I can forgive myself for living above death.

Someone was crouching beside me. His hand rubbed Venn's face, closing his wide-eyed.

"You've done a good job, now rest."
