DestinaRE ~ The Path I Followed

DestinaRE ~ The Path I Followed
Chapters 7. Game Destiny

"Argh," I screamed in pain. Someone had been standing behind me, tying my hands together, now kicking my feet. Makes me only able to kneel down on my knees before the Chairman whose fiery eyes look at me. Not only him, the two Elite Army men I saw were also next to him, looking at me with a look of disdain.

I don't remember much about what happened yesterday, even though I knew today I would be executed for making a soldier lose his life. All I remember is Venn's cold body on my lap, then... Laura who easily slaughtered a seven meter tall monster. Then, strange things started to come to me. Somehow, Suiryuu's voice continued to be heard in my head, even though his figure did not see the trunk of his nose at all. He spoke to me as if he were near me and knew how I was doing.

Lastly, I lost consciousness, and all around me was suddenly covered in white.

Somewhere full of white, Suiryuu suddenly appeared.

He walked towards me. His smile, no, his countenance was different. For some reason, it felt different to the Suiryuu I knew was stupid. He looked more dignified, and to be honest it was terrible.

Her aura was like that of 'serious' Suiryuu'.

"Suiryuu, is that you?" my many.

She laughed out loud, as if she was laughing at my answer. But it wasn't long, after which he looked seriously at me. "No. If you've heard of 'fate', just assume that I'm the 'Fate'."

I scrunched my forehead so I could feel my two eyebrows clinging to each other. His words, why is his speech so strange? I don't get it. He was talking like that not even looking like someone who was joking.

"I see you don't understand, I'm definitely not Suiryuu. I am the 'Destiny'. In this world there are so many spaces and dimensions, some are smooth but some are on the verge of collapse, like the world you're in now."

"Then?"

"Everything in the universe goes hand in hand. When a dimension is destroyed, it affects other dimensions. Of course the universe is not that cruel, they will balance each other, and that is where my job is" he said. He spread out his palm, and somehow, a galaxy floated above him.

He clapped both his hands and the galaxy disappeared. Then he continued his sentence. "To keep that balance, I have to send someone to help the troubled world, and you're the one I sent. But my ability has its limits. When the person I sent took someone's life from his destination world, then I couldn't send anyone again in a while."

I took a long breath and threw it away slowly. "After you know I've made someone's life go by, why don't you pull me back?!"

"It's it's like a contract with another world, you know! I'm the only one affected, even if you make a mistake, I can't pull it. You have to finish the contract first, then you can come back," he said so casually. He could even laugh lightly when talking about my fate.

"You mean, I can only come back after finishing the war here?"

Again, he smiled without feeling guilty. He said, "That's true! Happy day!" Then he turned around, walking away from me while waving his hands. "Just calm down, your sister and the others are not worried. With your friend's body I've given them a reason not to worry because you're gone."

"Fuck you, BAKA (stupid)!" In the end I couldn't help myself. I think I know why he's been nicknamed 'Baka' all this time. I ran up to him with a fist ready to put on his head.

He threw something at me, making my step stop suddenly for catching it. That thing, a bracelet decorated with a stone in the middle. The stone exuded a beautiful sparkle. So pretty. But what did he give me this for? It does not look useful other than as jewelry.

"I think it can help you in this world. I can't give you some kind of 'System', but you can search for your own skills, and the bracelet will help you see the stats of others" he explained.

"Wait!" Stopped it. The 'Fate' body that almost disappeared miraculously came back. I saw him looking at me annoyed.

"What's wrong?" tanyakanya.

"Has anyone else come here with me? Maybe. You sent too... Nayu?" tanyaku carefully. It feels like yesterday when I fought, I felt the existence of Nyu even for a moment.

She shook her head. He said, "No." Then he completely disappeared from before me.

That's when I woke up. I thought it was a dream at first, but after seeing the bracelet attached to my wrist, I was sure he actually met me. This bracelet I can't take off, it will definitely look striking on my skinny hands.

This morning, as soon as I opened my eyes, I was mobbed by the soldiers. They dragged me forcibly into the Chairman's room which resembled the court room. It felt like just yesterday they were praising me, thinking of me as a 'God of Rescue' that would pull them out of the darkness. Today I was treated like a traitor, a fraud, a murderer, and other criminals. Why does it feel like fate is playing games with me?

Looking at the sword man standing next to me, it seemed like this man was going to be my butcher. Thanks to the bracelet that 'Destiny' gave me, I can see that he is an A-class warrior, and the other abilities he has. But what's the point if I die right now? He raised his sword up high, completely ready to separate my head and body. Just wait for the Chairman's orders, and my life will be taken in this foreign place. There is no Nayu or anyone who will visit my grave later.

"Mr Naito, tell me the truth. Are you the 'Chosen One'?"

***

Nayu lays herself on a soft mattress in her room. Since the 'dream' that day, she kept thinking about her brother. Although Suiryuu had already told her that Naito was outside the city, her heart remained unsettled.

He turned his body and went on his stomach. In front of him the laptop screen is on, showing the search page. His fingers typed 'do otherworldly travel really exist?' on the search page. Honestly, Bayu is not someone who likes things beyond reason like isekai, let alone to believe.

But the one yesterday was too real to be called 'dream'.

As he had expected, there could be no such thing. He opened so many blog articles but there is no evidence to suggest that isekai is real. Nayu also watched many videos about isekai, which eventually led to the explanation of fictional stories.

"Haah, she's tired.." Nayu exhaled. He turned back his body, tight from too long lying on his stomach. His head continued to think about the possibility of isekai, but it was to think about however it was beyond reason that could not happen.

The phone screen is on because a notification came in. Notifications from a social media application made Naju immediately interested in opening it. Whether luck or bad luck, the notification came from someone who posted a thread about isekai.

[You may think I'm crazy, but this is absolutely CRAZY!]

Nayu scrolls her phone screen again.

[Isekai is real! I experienced it yesterday! I was asleep, but suddenly my soul was drawn to another place!]

[No! That's not a dream! I really went to another world! I even brought a thing from that world!]

In the end Nayu continued to scroll through her phone screen until the thread ran out. His belief about isekai that was impossible was refuted by the thread. Although many people comment that the person is delusional, hallucinatory, even to schizophrenia.

If yesterday was really isekai, then send me there, to where Kak Naito is! Nayu monologued inwardly while closing her eyes. He tried as hard as he could to fall asleep, but could not.

As he tried to sleep, his stomach rumbled so hard. Rather than being sleepy, he was more hungry at this time. He glanced at the wall clock, the clock was already showing noon, making him remember that today he had not had breakfast.

With so lazy Nyu get out of bed. He wears a bunny-shaped slipper that he puts next to the mattress, then moves out of the room. How lazy he was to go down to the first floor to get food. He cannot ignore that he is actually hungry, even though his appetite is currently not good.

Arriving in the kitchen, he opened the refrigerator. He took cereal and a box of milk, being uninterested in eating heavy meals. After concocting, Bayu brought the bowl of cereal, intending to head for the room.

Tests.

A drop of red liquid fell into the cereal bowl that Nayu had brought. The droplets were increasingly accompanied by the head of Nayu who felt pain. His sight felt like it was red.

"Nayu-chan~"

Nayu turned her head slowly at Lily who called out to her from behind. "Sister Lily?"

Lily's eyes were wide. His mouth agape at the blood pouring out of Nayu's nose and eyes. After that, the grip of Nyu against the cereal bowl was released.

Brakes.

"DARK!!!" Lily reflexively took a step back when she saw Nyu fall to the floor. Afterwards, he immediately crouched down, shouting for help at the people of the house.

***

Ouch.

Nayu's glowing green eyes observed her suddenly changing surroundings. He remembered that he was in the kitchen picking up a bowl of cereal, but now his hands were empty. His surroundings turned into a place whose atmosphere was similar to his dreams that day.

Am I really worried? his inner. He saw that there were so many people gathered before him. Those people were tall making it difficult for the 153 cm Nayu to see what was ahead there.

Nayu jumped up, hoping to see the reason these people were crowding there. Until he finally found an empty place that allowed him to advance forward. He went there, hoping to get in front and see what was going on..

What the hell is going on? Nyu. His eyes looked at the people who seemed to not feel his existence. It was as if Nayu was just a shadow.

His eyes widened when he found his brother, Naito, the center of attention of all people in the strange place. Her brother, who had not seen her for almost three days, found her in a strange place in a bad situation. A look of disdain and hate, Nayu realized it was all directed at her brother who was sitting in front of a man whose wife felt like a leader. Someone next to her brother held a sword, as if ready to make Naito's head detach from her body.

After which, the man who looked like a leader opened his mouth. "Mr Naito, what were you doing when Miss Venn was protecting you?  Didn't you raise your sword to help him?" tanyakanya.

Nayu looked at her brother who was bowed silently not saying anything. I don't know why yesterday's events became so real just by looking at today's events.

"Mr Naito, answer me or I'll behead you right now!"

Nah! Nayu screamed in her heart. Nayu recalled how yesterday her brother raised the sword to help a woman who protected him. "It must be the blue-haired person he was referring to right? Why didn't you answer?!" his yell.

Naito did not look. Not a single person in the room turned to Sayu, as if they had not felt her existence at all.

Not knowing what Nayu was thinking, she ran to Naito's side. His hand was about to grab the sword held by the one next to Naito, but he was unable to touch it. His hand pierced through the sword. There is nothing there that can be touched.

What the fuck?! Nyu. He tried to shake Naito's body, but still his hand pierced through.

"Mr Naito, answer me right now!"

Naito remained silent. No words dared to come out of his mouth. He's already too scared. In addition, his inner self still blames himself for Venn's death. Sure Nayu doesn't know that.

"Please, someone help my brother! Please! Why are you even cheering like that?!" Nayu shouted like she was in the middle of an oration, but no one heard her. The whole eye focused on Naito

"Wouldn't anyone help Naito?! Please, help my brother!"

"Who are you?"

A voice sounded inside the head of Nayu. He looked around, no one spoke to him.

"Why are you asking Naito for help?" The voice was heard again, this time she mentioned Naito's name as if the person knew her brother.

"Do you know Naito? Whoever you are, please help my brother! Someone's gonna kill him!" pinta Nayu to the person he does not know what he looks like. What was clear was that the voice sounded like the voice of a woman in her early twenties.

The voice stopped sounding in his head. This time Nayu was really panicking. He kept calling out to the woman, but no answer was heard. Nayu trembled, she bit her fingertips. Nayu was sure, that person would not wait any longer to behead Naito.

Sure enough, not for a minute, the man immediately dropped his word.

"Mr Naito, you're named as a defendant for Miss Venn's death. Quickly cut him!"

"No! No!"

The man next to Naito raised his sword up high, while Naito only flinched resignedly. Sayu's life seemed to be on the edge, she really wished this was all just a dream, and her brother was still somewhere else safe. He hopes to wake up soon, but he doesn't. He just stood there, looking at the figure next to his brother who was concentrating his strength on his sword.

"SORRY!!"
