Diary From The Past
Chapters 11. The secret Raseyan kept

The thunderous sound of lightning shocked Alea. It's been a few days since it's rained in the transitional world.

Actually Alea was a little worried if rain water seeped into the Raseyan residence.

The girl stared at the ceiling of the house made of material that resembled straw. He did not know how strong the thatched roof was able to withstand the torrent of rain.

“I want to drink warm coffee..” said Kavindra fantasized.

“Iya yes...cold-cold gini nice coffee anget” timpal Alea. The two friends imagined a warm coffee blend that can warm their bodies.

Hearing the comments of his two guests, Raseyan also moved from his seat.

The man picked up a small pottery and heated the water over the fireplace of his house.

His hands deftly put some dried leaves into the pottery.

Alea fell silent.

He noticed the pottery used by Raseyan.

“You have thought of making a small pot like this to heat water?” ask the girl curious.

The young man nodded.

“Ya, Andulu and Amatya who taught this to them”.

The name of the two shamans reminded Alea of his experience while adventuring in the Land of Sundayana. Come to think of it, the Sundayana Nation does not represent the inhabitants of the stone age. Even if they live in time

early civilizations of the earth, but their culture is more advanced than life in the Mesolithic era.

The girl compared the objects that were in the Raseyan residence. Some of the pottery and utensils used were much simpler compared to what he had found in Sundayana.

If the Kavindra hypothesis is correct that they are now in the transition to the Neolithic, then the story

Kundali is not wrong. The revolution of the earth has closed the pages of history that modern man has never known. They believed that the stone age people were the first people to live on earth.

Their culture began with the use of simple tools made of rocks.

“Did you also teach them to make those patterns?” ask Alea again. He was attracted by patterns resembling parallel dots on pottery to boil the water.

Raseyan shook.

“I think they were inspired by the mark on Andulu and Amatya” replied the young man. He could

pensively. It seems like Raseyan misses the two shamans who have been taking care of him since childhood.

The bodies of Andulu and Amatya are indeed filled with a number of images that are believed to be protective figures for the Sundayana.

Alea whispered something in Kavindra's ear.

“Are you not curious?”.

“Question why? Bentar... bentar this one who talks Alea or river demon?” ask Kavindra suspiciously. That man

grabbing a wooden branch nearby. He was on standby in case Alea intended to stab him.

“Eh dodol…. It's me!” pinch Alea was annoyed.

“Aw.. aw...aw.. yes I believe, believe...” ringis Kavindra in pain. In this age there is no dodol, Kavindra thought. There was no way the river demon could know of the existence of the dodol. It is certain that the girl in front of him is Alea, the man muttered again.

“Why do cultures in the stone age have similarities between one place and another? You imagine, in the past there was no internet..” exclaimed Alea seriously.

Kavindra tried to listen even though her stomach was a little hungry.

“Kok they can design something in a similar way? Who influences or teaches them?” continued Alea.

Kavindra scratched his chin. The man's actions annoyed Alea. The girl thought that Kavindra was ignoring the contents of the conversation.

“I was horrified, horrified! It's not the same as Le…. In Japan, the pottery pattern found in the neolithic period resembles a rope pattern. Whereas in Korea, the pattern is more like a comb. But in Jordan, the pottery patterns found are much simpler than the Jomon and Jeulmun” cultures.

Alea's mouth was gaping.

He almost forgot that Cavindra was one of the clever humans of the archipelago. The man's knowledge was vast, no

it was a wonder that he got into Harvard University.

“Eh bentar Korean Jomon or Jeulmun huh?” ask Alea.

“Jeulmun... continue to run out of Jeulmun culture, the Mumun culture. Want to know what is unique from Mumun culture?”.

“What?” asked Alea curiously.

“Pottery they tend to be unpatterned aka plain that even though they lived in the bronze age”.

“Loh how can you? Instead of getting closer to the bronze age, the decorations and patterns are getting more diverse?” Alea tried to recall her trip to different museums in different hemispheres.

Kavindra shrugged both shoulders. He also does not know the answer.

“But that must be true said elo, Le. In Mesopotamia there is a culture called Halaf. This culture developed in the early neolithic, and they already used black to decorate their pottery. They also began to form statues that supposedly symbolized the goddess of fertility. So that's why Mumuns are unique, because they're anti-mainstream, haha”.

“Gue became curious about the meaning behind the patterns used by prehistoric” inhabitants Alea said

stalled. What does the picture of the dots lined up on the pottery before him mean?

“If in the history of the archipelago how? Our pottery culture in the stone age?”.

Kavindra scratched his head.

“Gue forget-forget anyway Le. But as I recall one of the prehistoric pottery culture is quite famous

buni” Culture.

“Bune? Bunny?”.

“That read ba-ni, neng! This is Buni. Buni, the name of the place in Bekasi. But this culture is actually thought to have been more advanced than the stone age. If you do not remember wrong, it is the age of paleometallic gitu”.

“Hah, what's up..” Alea gave up. Knowledge of history is limited. To be honest if he never goes back in time, the girl also does not remember that there were three prehistoric periods starting with the Paleolithic.

“Elo country boy whichever country, culture own country is not good..”.

Kavindra's insinuations are absolutely crushing.

The man's arrow had just broken through Alea's innermost heart.

“So the Buni culture was allegedly the predecessor of the Kingdom of Tarumanagara”.

“Hah, Tarumanagara is the name of the kingdom? I think the name of the university in Jakarta” timpal Alea plain.

Kavindra looked at Alea cynically. He no longer hesitated to clamp his friend's forehead.

“Elo if you go back to the future try to the library or museum where the cake, do not snack…. If not the nation's children who know history, who else will preserve to posterity?” nagel Kavindra's.

Alea pensive. It turns out that there is a lot that he does not know about the past of the archipelago.

“Gue know anyway.. elo if there is no cute guy must not have napsu learn history” quipped the man again.

“Hush... haphazard”.

“Ya already next time, elo ask the Emperor of Heaven to send us to Tarumanagara aja.

handsome prince who can lo kecengin”.

“Heh don't just talk. What do you think I am the future cultural ambassador?” Alea Protest.

The debate between Alea and Kavindra was stalled by Raseyan's arrival. The young man shoved two small cups filled with warm drinks.

“This drunk mumpung warmer”.

Without a second thought, Kavindra sipped the drink.

Her eyes widened.

He nodded with satisfaction.

“Again…. Nambah” shouts while laughing widely.

Alea was curious. He did not want to lose to Kavindra. The girl quickly sipped the drink that Raseyan had prepared.

“Eh this... coffee?”.

Raseyan shook. “I found this bitter leaf by accident. These leaves go into the decoction of drinking waterku”.

“Enak yes…. “. Alea smiled broadly.

He inhaled the scent of a drink that reminded him of his favorite coffee in the future.

“Pahit?” ask Raseyan. The young man ventured to sit next to Alea.

“Emang you have sugar? Or what's so sweet?”.

Alea had to admit that the taste of the drink was a little bit bitter. Maybe the sugar can make the drink more delicious, he thought.

“There... “ replied Raseyan short.

The young man did not budge so it left Alea confused.

“Mana?”.

Raseyan pointed at himself.

Alea's face flushed.

He did not expect Raseyan to throw a death row again.

The girl was wrong.

Raseyan's aggressive nature was completely beyond his expectations.

The young man sipped a drink with a small smile. Alea caught that smile with the corner of her eyes.

“Why is he smiling then? Serem” murmured Alea panicked. He was worried that Raseyan would launch his next attack.

The situation was made worse by Kavindra who decided to leave Alea just like that. The young man intended to go to the food storage located in the middle of the village. He carried the torch so confidently that Alea hurriedly prevented the departure of her best friend.

“Petir Cav…. Danger”.

The girl tried to remind Kavindra of the thunderbolt in the sky.

“My stomach is laper, Le…. I'm going to the old man's place, who guards the food barn. I want to ask for salted fish”.

“Hah? For what?”.

“Drink delicious gini coffee while snacking on salted fish”. Kavindra of course refers to fish-filled jars

which has been preserved by the inhabitants. During the mesolithic to neolithic transition, humans were known to have tried to store food in clay jars.

“Ah ga matching.. since when do people snack on salted fish while drinking coffee. I've been here aja” protest Alea. That girl

worried that Raseyan would do nothing if Kavindra did not exist.

“It's okay Alea. Let Kavindra bring food for us too.. “ timpal Raseyan.

Alea gawking. Suspicions proved. Raseyan is happy if Kavindra leaves.

“See you bemore... “ exciting Kavindra step away.

Alea wanted to cry too.

He knew that Raseyan would take advantage of Kavindra's departure. The girl remembered the stupidity she had done. “Why do I take ngekiss him anyway..” regrets.

“Alea...” Raseyan holds the hand of the woman who was once his queen.

Brak!!!!!!!!

Raseyan's hand held Alea to a moment hidden within the youth's past.

Again he heard the mantra that was once echoed by Andulu and Amatya.

Alea's head was like being invaded by a thousand needles.

He was not sure what he was seeing.

Explosions of volcanoes spewing out rocks wrapped in hot steam.

Tsunami waves cool the rocks.

Then the appearance of a pair of female and male figures.

It seemed like they were the same figures he had seen in his previous explorations.

Alea then heard a voice like the howl of a wild beast.

As the beast howled, the two figures placed a number of stones on top of the mound of star fragments

the buried.

“Holy rock?” asked Alea surprised.

Alea suddenly felt that something was throwing him outside of his viewing frame.

"Alea?".

The girl looked. He found Raseyan looking at him with a worried face.

“What is the pattern in the pottery…. I mean the Andulu tattoo imitated by the residents... is the picture of the stars?” aela asked with a trembling voice.

Raseyan's forehead frowned.

“Alea..” call him again.

Face confused. Raseyan hoped his conjecture was wrong.

“Where are the graves of Andulu and Amatya?” urged Alea.

“Alea...” call Raseyan again. The young man tried to calm down Alea who looked panicked. He rubbed Alea's hair gently.

“Bring me there! Now also...” snapped the girl half in tears. Raseyan's touch returned leading him to a different sort of staging.

“Alea it's dark. Outside there is lightning…. Too dangerous out there” elak Raseyan.

“Can't Raseyan.. I have to solve this mystery....or..”.

“Or what is Alea?” ask Raseyan. Shuts changed. He again hoped his assumption was wrong. Yes, Alea better not know, the young man muttered again.

“Or The Great Destroyer will kill you.

Raseyan scrunched his forehead. He had never heard that name before.

But the young man knew that Alea was not playing around.

He already knew the nature of the wife, if he could still call Alea that name. Although Alea was easily hungry, it did not dampen the girl's courage to fight evil.

“Alea, can you please re-explain to me?”.

“The Great Destroyer.

holy.. yes I just remembered if the subtle-creatures in Mount Padang told me about the sacred stone... and The Great Destroyer, they, they, they..”.

“Alea... calm yourself down. one-on-one, I can not follow your conversation” said Raseyan trying to calm the idol.

The young man offered Alea to sit down for a moment. He hurriedly poured the remaining water decoction leaves into the cup of the girl.

“Drink first…. Try slowly his story”.

Somehow Alea was also devastated. He should praise Raseyan's ability to calm his turmoil. Raseyan's soft voice seemed to offer the comfort he was looking for. Alea was worried.

If his vision is correct, then he and Kavindra will have to search for fragments of the sacred stones in the transitional world. They must complete the mission before The Great Destroyer finds a way to break into the world Raseyan inhabited.

“Raseyan... tomorrow morning, take me to the tomb of Andulu and Amatya” pinta Alea shaking.

The young man clasped Alea's hand.

“Argh.... “ shouted the girl suddenly.

“Alea?”.

“For a while don't touch me... Every time you touch me, I see something...and it seems like my body is not yet strong enough to read the memory stored in your body”.

“You read my past?” raseyan was surprised.

Alea nodded.

“I saw what you have been through when you first arrived at this place.”.

Raseyan bowed lethargic.

“Did you also see how I tried to fight my misses on you?”.

“Ras.... don't switch the conversation...” pinta Alea again.

“No Alea... I have to talk about this.. Because that is what Andulu wants, I miss you.. will take you back to this place so that your blood and my blood come back together.”.

“What do you mean?”.

“I tried to prevent it all Alea...I don't want you to come here...I refused Andulu's request... but he kept forcing me “.

Alea was shocked when she saw Raseyan's tears.

“You and I.. king and queen of Sundayana.

the dimension of the world he is shadowing”.

Raseyan continued his words.

“And the world where Sundayana once stood.. will move into history in the shadow world”.

Now replace Alea who scrunched his forehead.

“This is the parallel world of Alea…. One overshadowed the other. This world could exchange roles..depending on who controlled the sacred stones that had been passed down by the founding ancestors of this place”.

Alea's heart almost stopped beating.

Did he not hear wrong? Why does destiny always involve itself in the worlds that are not touched by human reason?
