Diary From The Past

Diary From The Past
Chapter 5. Transitional World

Alea certainly never thought if one day he would return to visit the fort of Sundayana. It slowly traced a dark corridor connecting the entrance of the fort with the inner chambers of the fort.

"Kav's... Kav... Which entrance is it? How can I not recall?". Alea suspected. The entrance of the corridor he was passing through was like different. Did the earthquake change that? Or is this corridor the path of the entrance that he never knew?

"This is the old age we live in. It is only natural that there is a change.." replied Kavindra while fumbling against the wall. The man lit the lighting from the cell phone. He screamed when he saw Alea's face standing next to him.

"What the hell!" nagging the girl while hitting the shoulder of Kavindra.

Alea's guess was not wrong. This is not a corridor they are familiar with. There was nowhere to put a torch on the wall. In fact, the corridor was too wide for the two of them to pass through.

"There's a light on Le there." whispered Kavindra.

The girl squinted her eyes. He saw a light not far from where they were standing. Kavindra. Nyali. The man pulled on Alea's shirt sleeve.

"Le.. lo go first yeah. I'm in the back".

"Fearful?".

"I can't be scared! I want to protect the elo".

"Ah, just reason. Scared huh?" Alea Goda.

"Gue adopts the principle of Tut Wuri Handayani! The good teacher was pushing from behind for the progress of his student".

Alea sneered at Kavindra who was a tickle.

"When did you become my teacher? I said I was scared!".

The girl stepped carefully. The strong scent of petrika pushed his courage forward. Amidst the darkness, Alea heard the chirping sounds of small birds.

"Kuntilanak is sis?" ask Kavindra in a soft voice. The man was scared, and Alea knew that. Kavindra's blistering voice made Alea anxious. The sound of the birds chirping had clearly made the feathers stand up. That said, the sound of small birds or chicks is a sign of the emergence of subtle creatures such as mbak kunti.

Alea reached into her sling bag. He was looking for something that could be used as a weapon. The girl finally took out a folding umbrella from the bag. Although he did not know if the umbrella could defeat the mbak kunti, but who definitely had the weapon was much better than nothing.

"Le....".

"Gush...". Alea scolded Kavindra who had just called her name.

"There's Le's hands.

"Feelings Kav...".

"No, Le. is so sharp." the hoofs of Kavindra's voice sounded convincing.

Alea is still trying to cool. The girl didn't want Kavindra to know that she was actually scared too.

"Le.... my legs... now my feet... dicoel-coel.." cried Kavindra firmer. The man thrust his feet towards Alea. Of course Alea spontaneously shouted as she felt something sharp scratching her leg skin. The girl dashed towards the light source.

"Le.. wait" cried Kavindra in panic. He did not want to be trapped alone in the cave. The man used all his strength to chase after Alea who had already almost arrived at the mouth of the exit.

Brak! Kavindra also hit Alea's back.

"Le.. why...".

"Ju..jurang bro!".

The girl asked Kavindra to look at the scene that lay before them. The sound of birds they heard apparently came from the place.

And that's not the sound of a little bird! It was but the sound of a huge bird that Alea herself did not know its name. His face resembles an eagle but the feathers of his bird look like peacocks. The colorful color of the bird feathers made Alea and Kavindra amazed. They were not just one, but more than four!

Alea tried to grab the roots of the trees nearby. He pulled the root to ensure its strength. Like a monkey, Alea also used the hanging roots to move places. He managed to reach a stronger footing, which is a tree branch that is not far from the mouth of the exit.

Kavindra gulps. If only he had pushed Alea's body away, the girl would have already died. The depth of the abyss beneath his feet could not be predicted. Obviously, if it falls, it will die.

The exit door was on the cliff wall. There was only a broken stone as wide as a human palm that supported the exit hole. The rock could not even be categorized as a path. Too narrow and too dangerous.

"Kav, come...".

Kavindra stared at the large tree whose branch seemed to be stretched out toward the exit hole. He could not believe that the tree was standing straight as if its roots were far below the abyss. "Is that the height of this tree?". Kavindra's chest is beating. If he jumps, it means he surrenders himself as a loyal follower of Alea's mysterious journey. But if he returns to the entrance of the cave, it means that he has to deal with a group of smelly young men who call themselves The Great Destroyer.

"Kav.." call Alea with a face of sumringah.

The girl looked happy and of course Kavindra knew why.

The man took a deep breath. He tried to follow Alea who used the hanging roots of the trees to move.

"Awuwo.................................." cried Kavindra loudly. His behavior is exactly like Tarzan the jungle man. He hit the chest repeatedly, animating his new role in antiquity.

"Sst.. don't be noisy...". Alea tried to warn Kavindra not to attract the attention of birds flying in the sky. "If they're carnivores, we're done." whispered Alea.

Kavindra. He noticed the beaks of strange animals flying around him. True too Alea said, muttered Kavindra. The beaks of the birds were very large. It could be that the two of them instantly died in just one swallow.

"I'm sorry mbak kunti., it's not him!"nagging Alea while cleaning the sharp branches from Kavindra's body. As the man moved within the corridor, it seemed as if the dried twigs had accidentally stuck to his clothes and pants.

Kavindra could only smile wryly. He is aware of his mistake. After cleaning the branches, Alea invited Kavindra to explore.

"Le.. slowly...". Kavindra tried to follow Alea's carefree footsteps. He cursed his best friend who never talked to adventure into the past.

"He shouldn't be a translator. It's good that he's a history teacher so he can tell stories about past lives.." said Kavindra.

"Gue denger's.." - Alea.

"Hahaha.it was Le's compliment.... ".

"Gue tau lo boong ....".

"Damn.." as Kavindra said in his heart. Lately he felt that Alea's intellect had improved a little and her innocence had diminished. The girl began to be able to read the situation. He no longer easily believed his words. In addition, he was also increasingly shrewd in reading the nosy traps that he had worked so hard to create.

"Udah big him. ga exclamation" muttered Kavindra while looking lethargic.

Alea leaped over the branches of the giant tree in front of him very agilely. He continued to move forward as if he had mastered the field. The girl used the roots of the hanging trees to support the movement. It moves from one tree to another smoothly.

Kavindra tried to follow Alea's nimble moves. His hands hurt when he had to grasp the roots of textured trees. In addition, he could not take his eyes off the trees he jumped over. The fact that they grew from under the ravine made his cold sweat pour out.

"How big, how tall are these trees?" tanyanya.

Kavindra again called out to Alea who was now about to jump towards the cliff that seemed to be formed from comatite rocks.

"Le... wait.....". The man followed Alea's nimble movements. He pulled the girl's hand and warned her to move more slowly.

"Elo sure we can go home? We don't look back... hadepin the young men snotusan?".

"Emang all this time elo come I'm sure can go home? In the past if we never knew, right... can go home or not?".

Wrongly asked.

That's the final conclusion of Kavindra.

"Keep to the end, I'll be that figure? Though at times I should be the main character.." said the man was arrogant.

The two of them went down the cliff carefully. While observing the surrounding scenery, Alea and Kavindra knew that they were now in a different age. The Sundayana Castle fort corridor they discovered has taken the two to a mysterious, strange world described in Raseyan's last courtyard as a transitional world.

"Why doesn't Mahesa tell me?".

"about?".

"The fact that Raseyan is trapped in a different world".

"Jealous is.." Kavindra said quickly.

"Yes, at least. I don't feel guilty".

"Because?".

Alea turned.

"Because? Meanin?".

"Why feel guilty?".

The girl patted his stomach.

"Because I'm a balloon saying that I'm not pregnant".

Kavindra chimed in on Alea's words.

"That means there's a hidden sense of love...".

"Hush, haphazardly. That little ade... in droves!!" tepis Alea's.

"If there is no taste, why meet again? Just so he does not know... and do you think goodbye.... want goodbye how again? Pake party-party trus he smiles ngedadahin elo?".

Alea fell silent. Kavindra's words have a point. Why is he haunted by guilt? After all if he had to say goodbye words once again, would Raseyan take it off with a sincere smile?

His footsteps stopped.

"Yes, let's go back...".

"Why didn't you say that!!!!!!" kavindra's nagging. His hands hurt and his muscles stiffened. Hanging on the roots of trees was not his talent. If only Alea had paused her intention from earlier, she was annoyed.

When Kavindra tried to reach the roots of the trees to climb the way home, suddenly the roots of the trees moved on their own.

The man took a few steps back, surprised by the phenomenon that was happening before them. The roots of the trees shriveled quickly. Likewise with the tree trunks that became their footing earlier. They seem to pull away from the nearest surface. The branch of the tree moved around the main trunk. The leaves are hiding. In an instant, the entire tree they passed by now looked like giant towering statues.

"Le.." Kavindra's voice again sounded clear.

Alea still could not believe what he saw. Why are the trees shrinking? He turned his gaze to the birds that were beginning to leave the sky.

"Sun Kav. it looks like they are reacting to the setting sun".

"So we have to find shelter immediately.I don't want to be eating wild animals" said Kavindra.

Alea agrees. While waiting for the morning to come, it's good for them to find a cave to take shelter.

Invite Kavindra to descend the cliff is asserted by Alea. They heard the sound of the river not far from where they were standing. Maybe before going to bed, they can catch some fish for dinner.

"Le River.. river.." said Kavindra happy. The man immediately searched for a sharp stone and a medium diameter tree branch to catch fish.

"Edan. animates pol.." cheers Alea while trying to find a rock crevice they can use as a place to spend the night.

The girl was stunned when she saw the scratches on the rocks.

His feeling said that the scratch had meaning. He had seen the shape of the scratch somewhere.

"Le... at the end there is a rich cave place." said Kavindra while pointing behind a medium-sized waterfall.

Alea. He agreed with the proposal of Kavindra. The place looks safe to live in. The girl left the stone scratched and joined the Cavindra who had managed to catch two large fish.

"Well, jago.." praise Alea. The girl quickly picked up the rocks and twigs that would be used to make a campfire. He swiftly picked up a sharp stone nearby to clean the scales of the fish.

But Alea's movements came to a halt as he observed the sharp rock.

"Kav...".

"Yes?" the guy's limpal was drying his wet feet.

"This...the stone...".

"Why?".

"It's a grindstone". Alea observed the side of the stone that seemed to have undergone the process of honement. His sharpness is not natural. Alea could also see the rest of the bloodstains that had faded.

"Lo don't want me Le!" kavindra. The man hurriedly put on both of his shoes. He glanced around, making sure that the two of them were not being targeted for assassination.

"Le... It's not the cannibal man that matters?" whispered Kavindra worried.

Alea shook her head. He could not answer Kavindra's question.

The two were then startled by the sound of friction from behind the bushes. Alea spontaneously picked up a large twig nearby. He pulled a handkerchief out of his shirt bag. The girl hurriedly tied the handkerchief to tie the sharp stone to the handle of the twig.

"Well, the elo was really an ancient human cake" Kavindra praised in amazement at the sight of Alea's weapons.

"Pst.. beware".

The voice is getting clearer.

Alea and Kavindra retreated slowly. Their hearts are beating fast.

Who is the person who is currently observing the existence of the two of them?

**** ancient forest?

The sabre-toothed tiger?

Or cannibal humans like the imagination of Kavindra?
