Eps. 10 Perform DNA Tests

“You okay, Jorell?” Betsy asked Jorell, as the boy came out of the room.

His face was still swollen, but he still went to school.

Jorell did not answer the question from his mother but just nodded then lowered his head.

“I'm sorry your father, he didn't mean it that way. I've spoken to him.” Betsy hugged Jorell. Betsy finally learned of the incident yesterday afternoon, from Aroon after previously trying to persuade Jorell to take her to dinner.

A pair of Jorell's eyeballs condensed again, but as much as possible he could resist so that his tears that began to pool did not spill. He was relieved that his mother was still warm to him. At least the wound will be slightly reduced.

“You don't have to go to school today.” Betsy rubbed Jorell's swollen cheeks.

“No. I'm fine, Mother.”

Jorell immediately left the house before his mother held him back and made him change his mind.

In the middle of the street, he opened his bag and took out a brown envelope and peered at the contents.

“All I need to do the test is all set. I'll just hand it over later at the hospital.” Jorell peeked back into the contents of the brown envelope, worried that the contents would disappear or fall out of nowhere.

The contents of the brown envelope were Darcy's hair and a strand of her own.

Jorell decides to do a DNA test to find out their true relationship, is he really his father's biological son or not?

He took his piggy bank down to do a DNA test because there was no way he could ask his parents to pay, or be found out.

“Perhaps later after school I will go to the hospital to do a DNA test.” Jorell reinserted the material for the DNA test in his bag.

“Jorell, what's wrong with your face? Did you fight someone?” xavier asked, as Jorell sat next to him.

“No.” As usual, Jorell answered briefly.

“Or did your father do it?” Xavier knew it wasn't because Jorell told him but he saw it for himself.

Once when they came home together, Xavier stopped by Jorell's house for a while to pick up the notes left behind. But he accidentally sees Darcy hitting Jorell himself just because of a trivial problem, just because a plate breaks.

There was a broken plate, I don't know who broke it but obviously the man blamed Jorell also hit him.

“Your father did it?” xavier asked.

Jorell stared speechless at the choppy blonde-haired boy. He did not answer and instead took out a brown envelope from his bag, then he thrust it at Xavier.

“What is this?” Xavier looked at the strands of hair in the envelope with the eyebrows linked together.

“I'll do a DNA test later go home from school. Maybe my savings are less to pay for. Will you borrow me a little later if less?”

Xavier opened his mouth wide to hear what his friend said.

“Are you so desperate that you did this?”

“No. I just want to make sure all my doubts are. See this.” Jorell took out the green rubber band he found at home and showed it to his friend.

“Jorell Watson?” Xavier was really surprised to read the name on the bracelet.

Jorell immediately took the bracelet back and stored it in a bag, before any other students saw it.

He was more open to his friends than his own family, including Aroon.

“Yes, I will accompany you to go to the hospital later and will lend me money if it is less,” Xavier replied.

“You ready?” ask Xavier in front of the hospital entrance.

After school they went to the hospital together. Xavier himself was curious because of that. This time he met with a case like this.

“Yes, whatever the result I will be able to receive it,” said Jorell, looks roomy. He had indeed prepared himself and strengthened himself, until he dared to decide to do a DNA test.

They eventually went to the hospital. Jorell handed over the samples for DNA tests to the hospital staff.

“Good, the result can not come out now and the fastest tomorrow.” The doctor informed him after receiving the sample that Jorell had given.

“Ya, doctor.” Jorell was released from the hospital with Xavier.

“Hopefully the result is as you expected.” Xavier patted Jorell's shoulder gently.

“Thank you, I will return the money I borrowed to you next month.” Jorell borrowed his friend's money, lucky in small amounts.

“Do not think about it.”

Xavier was also happy to see a smile from Jorell's lips that rarely smile everyday.

The next day at noon, Jorell returned to the hospital they had both visited before with Xavier.

“Pacify yourself,” Xavier said to Jorell who seemed anxious sitting in the waiting chair waiting for the doctor to come out to bring the results.

“Yes, I'm not anxious, I just can't wait for the results to come out.” Jorell refuted, though he was anxious about the outcome.

The atmosphere was tense as the doctor walked out of the room with a white envelope.

“Doctor, have the results come out?” jorell asked after approaching the doctor.

The doctor did not explain and chose to hand over the envelope to be read immediately.

Jorell received the envelope and opened it at the spot right away. His hands were already trembling while holding the envelope especially after knowing the results.

“99.99% no match?” Not Jorell speaking, but Xavier. He came to see because he was curious about the results of the DNA test.

Jorell appears tense and bristling after finding out the test results stating that he is not related to blood at all with Darcy, his biological father.

“So the result of the test. I hope it's useful information,” said the Doctor at the end after seeing Jorell's shocked face.

“Thank you, doctor.”

After the doctor left, Jorell was discharged from the hospital.

“You okay?” xavier asked Jorell who had just remained silent.

“Yes, I'm fine. After it was clear now like this, I came to know what was the reason why my father beat me so often maybe because I was not his real son so he beat me up. Then if I'm not his flesh and blood, whose son am I? Is it possible my mom cheated on me?” Jorell's worried.

“That problem, I don't know.”

“But I know what my mother looks like. Although he often had disagreements with my father, but he was very sorry for my father. There is no way she is having an affair,” Jorell explained dismissing the bad allegations.

“Yes, I also know Mrs Betsy is a good person, there is no way you are her illegitimate child.” Xavier.

Then a big question arose in the minds of the two of them. Then whose son is Jorell, if not Darcy's?
