Eps. 3 Different Treatment

Seven years later....

“Aroon, catch the ball.” Jorell was playing ball throwing rice with his sister.

They are both only one year apart. Currently Jorell has been sitting at the level of Elementary School, while Aroon sits in the school class of Taman Kanak-Kanak.

Akhs! Aroon fizzed softly as he failed to catch the ball thrown by Jorell.

The ball hit Aroon's white cheeks, making the cheek color change.

“Are you okay?” Jorell went straight to his sister.

He felt guilty even though it wasn't his fault. It was Salah Aroon who couldn't catch the ball. But Jorell loved his sister, he was very worried about her condition.

“Sit down first, I'll take the ointment for you.”

Aroon nodded and sat down waiting for Jorell who had already entered the house.

“Aroon!” It wasn't Jorell calling, it was Darcy.

The man came out and stopped on the terrace when he saw Aroon sitting by himself holding his left cheek.

“Aroon, what's wrong with you? Why your cheek?” darcy asked as he approached and saw a red rash on his son's cheek.

Aroon lowered his hand so that the red rash on his cheek was visible.

“Dad, this is okay. I got hurt playing catch ball with brother.” Aroon explained without a tone of blame.

But it's different from what Darcy caught. The story of his own biological son sounds more like a complaint to him.

“Is this Jorell?” darcy's. Instantly he climbed up and saw her.

Seeing his son being injured by Jorell, a clone of Detective Carl who is his rival, whom he deeply despises.

Aroon. He was trembling to see his father speak in such a high tone.

Aroon's silence had already revealed his own answer if Jorell had intentionally injured Aroon.

“Jorell, here you are!” jolt Darcy, when he saw Jorell return with an ointment in hand.

“Ya, Father.”

“See this! What did you do to your sister?”

Darcy pulled Jorell's shirt roughly and pointed at Aroon's red cheeks.

“Dad, don't get me wrong. We both played and I didn't mean to hurt Adik.” at all Jorell explained the real problem.

He even showed the ointment he had taken for him to rub on Aroon's cheeks.

But Darcy could not listen and would not accept Jorell's explanation, despite seeing the ointment.

“How can you be so hard on your little sister like this? You know it hurts a lot for a kid Aroon's age. If anything happens to your sister then you're the one responsible! Remember that!” Darcy back jerking.

Even his hand was now swayed in the air after he released the grip of Jorell's shirt. The big hand then landed hard on Jorell's little cheek.

Hiss! Jorell hissed as he felt his cheeks hot as well as throbbing pain. Even the corners of his lips until swollen due to Darcy's unmitigated slap.

“Aroon, come on in. Let me treat your wound.” Darcy pulls Aroon to his side.

Before leaving he turned to stare at Jorell sharply. “Get her ointment!” He took the ointment out of Jorell's hand violently.

“Kakak ..” Aroon looked at his brother. She did not think her father would make her brother feel the pain in his cheek.

“Aroon, already in. Don't mind your brother!”

Darcy drags Aroon into the house. Because the boy looked heavy leaving Jorell.

Traces more precisely like a lacing wound. It's not the first time her father beat her up, a lot and she can't count how much violence Darcy has done to her.

Some time ago, Jorell was also angered by Darcy just because Aroon fell while playing alone nearby. She was doing chores from school after school. So don't pay much attention to Aroon who is playing.

Like earlier, Darcy scolded him all out. Blaming him also gave him punishment.

“*Your sister is still a child. It's your responsibility to take care of your sister. Why did you come to the floor and make your sister hurt like this? Fortunately, his fingers were only scratched by a knife. What if his fingers break. If I hadn't seen it, maybe Aroon's fingers would have been severed!”

“Sorry, my father is really late. I promise something like this will not happen again.”

“How many hundred times have you promised me? But look, still your sister was injured in the knee when she fell and hit the glass!”

“Sorry, Dad!”

“Sorry is not enough! You should also feel the same pain as your sister*.”

The shadow as Darcy kicked his chest back gnashed in his mind. Even the footprints were imprinted on Jorell's chest, bluish purple in color and had not healed until now.

“Dad ... Why do you always blame myself?” Jorell held back the tightness in his chest that was so tight that he could hardly breathe and repeatedly took a deep breath, to reduce the burden on his chest.

“Jorell where, why doesn't he come to dinner with us?” betsy asked, looking at the dinner table only herself, Darcy and Aroon.

“Okay, maybe he ate first,” Darcy replied indifferently. He doesn't care about Jorell at all. Whether he had eaten or not, he really did not care. Wasn't the original purpose of nurturing Jorell just to torture him?

Betsy stood up from her seat. He then headed to Jorell's room.

There was the sound of the doorknob pulling and the door opening afterwards.

“Jorell, have you had dinner?” Betsy came in and approached Jorell who was sitting on the floor bowed.

Jorell did not respond and just stared at his mother's pair of round-eye beads. There was fear drawn in Jorell's eyes.

“What's wrong with you?” Betsy squatted down to make him see Jorell's swollen cheeks.

Really, he was shocked to see Jorell's cheeks were badly swollen.

“Who did this to you?” ask Betsy.

Jorell just kept silent not daring to answer. There was no way he would tell his mother if the one who hit him was his own father.

“Did your father do it?” Jorell shook his head in response.

“Then who did it? Did someone in your class do it?” Again, Jorell shook his head.

“Say.” Betsy urges.

“I was hit by wooden beams in the back of the house, Bu.” Jorell had to lie and make up stories.

Maybe if he told the truth, his mother would not believe him, and would instead defend his father. So there's no point in him telling the truth.

The important thing is that his mother trusts him now, that's more than enough.

“Other times be careful, if play.don't hurt yourself. Sit down, I'll treat your wounds.”

Only her mother had been able to ease the pain in her heart because of her father's treatment.

“Betsy! What the hell are you doing? Stop it!” Suddenly Darcy comes into Jorell's room.
