I stared at the two-page script plastered on my laptop, then snorted. Unlike short stories that have a lot of media to accommodate and contest, my writing on this one is rather difficult to get a place. Instead of never trying, instead I sent to several editors and was rejected. I revised it for the umpteenth time. Put it in the publisher? Ah, that's too far.
“Huh, preferably and write another short story,” I closed the tab titled ‘Tongue – Two Girls and A Wolf' and opened a new worksheet. Instead of directly writing something, I just let the thin black line blink. Again I snorted, no idea popped into my brain and Saturday should not be wasted. To get ideas, I went to YouTube and looked up fairy tales. Many videos about it, but few are watching, especially native Indonesian fairy tales. It seems that now it is rare for children to watch content like this.
“This is good for them. Hm, should I try to make a herear instead of a video?” I murmured to myself, again. The idea sounds easy and light, it can also reach more people because herear is not like a video that must be watched because it is only in the form of audio. Yes, it seems like I have to create content like that, the Nusantara fairy tale and occasionally a self-made fairy tale.
“But ... what fairy tale will I read first?” again my mind wandered, making a list of fairy tales I knew, “To attract attention ... starting from what the crowd knew?” I moved towards the bookshelf and picked up a book about a rather thick collection of fairy tales. Reading fairy tales is not hard for me, because actually, before this pandemic hit Earth, other than writing a few short stories, I sometimes took the time to be a storyteller in the city library on Saturday or Sunday. I intend to start something new by writing my own fairy tale, but it is not upheld by the media, maybe this is my path.
“Karina! Let's have lunch first,” Mama's voice calls from outside the room.
“Good, Ma!” I took the fairy tale book to the dining table. I ate while reading some fairy tales in the book I brought earlier. To this day, my choice falls on the story of Roro Jonggrang. After finishing my meal, I immediately returned to the room and recorded the sound of myself reading the fairy tale with my smart phone. First, I did an opening and mentioned the title of the fairy tale and the author of the fairy tale book. Second, I tell the story with different intonation and sound colors for each character, this is what I like about storytelling, being able to be anyone and playing a voice.
“Well, from this story, the moral message that can be taken is not to be too quick to accept things that are beyond our ability, do not renege on promises, and do not cheat in doing something. So herear ‘At One Day’ this inaugural edition. See you another chance!” I did everything seamlessly, including uploading it to the account belonging to ‘On One Day’ I just made on the site famous herear.
“Good, uploading successful, time to create promotional content,” my monologue to myself while re-lighting my laptop to create promotional content for my Instagram is also a better logo than I put up temporarily. I worked on it quickly because the logo whose elements are just writing is not too difficult. For promotional content, I put an illustration of Roro Jonggrang once made by my best friend for myself in the 1:1 worksheet. Once done, without wasting any more time, the two files immediately I transfer to the phone and send it to Instagram with an interesting takarir. Not to forget, I listed the link to my herear there. In addition to Instagram, I send my links to my peers, hoping they can give advice or criticism.
The tring!
I'll open my phone to read the incoming messages.
Winter : Kar, why didn't you say you wanted to create an account here and use my image for promotion? I can make a better picture than that, haha.
Oh, yeah, that's a good fairy tale. As expected of you. When did you upload another story?
I answered that question enthusiastically.
Tomorrow. It seems like every Saturday and Sunday I will upload a herear.
The tring!
My friend responded quickly.
Winter: Oh, good, I want to help you create a promotional account. May it?
I laughed a little at the reply.
Sure was! Whynot?
Wintee: There is a way that your physique does not appear on live broadcasts. Create an avatar.
Which blue-blue is it or which can be 4 elements?
Winter: No! Here's.
He sent me an image of myself in three-dimensional animated form.
Well, this is great. You drew it?
Winter: Yes, better yet, it can move, although it is still less subtle.
It's okay, let's try!
Winter: You make the account, I make the promotional picture. What's the title of the fairy tale tomorrow Sunday?
I thought for a moment, maybe it's time for my own shining fairy tale.
Two Girls and a Wolf.
The day I was waiting to come. To do a live broadcast with an avatar, I had to be at Citra's house because he owned the software and knew how it worked. Before I started, my best friend taught me how to use it.
“Movements of head, eyes, and mouth will follow you. You must control the emoji used. Here's button. Okay?”
“I understand.”
Live broadcast begins! I opened it with an introduction and mentioned the title of the fairy tale today. Winter monitored everything from beside me by keeping his distance. Beyond our expectations, a lot of people are watching! Indeed some make comments less well, but many say their children are entertained by the innovations we make. When we finished, we managed to bring the fairy tale to at least 3,000 devices!
“That's a great achievement! You are the best, Rina, my best friend!” praise Winter.
“This wouldn't have happened without your creative ideas. Ready to entertain the kids again?” I threw a smile at him.
“I'm very ready.”
