Dusk (And Taste)

Dusk (And Taste)
Chapter 141

The wall clock is showing at eight o'clock in the evening. Reyhan is still struggling with a laptop in bed. Even though he was very into the office. The man was still monitoring and helping his younger brother, Farhan, from home. Of course with a schedule that is very limited by his wife who is increasingly possessive.

Next to Reyhan. Lying a potbellied girl still with a pashmina hijab wrapped around her head. The girl changed her position many times to feel comfortable. However, nil.

"Darling, what's wrong with you?" reyhan asked by stroking the top of the girl's head.

"My back feels sore" he lamented. He changed his position and sat back down.

"Come here! Let me get a pijitin."

He immediately shook his head. "No need, Brother. I don't want to make big brother tired later."

Reyhan chuckles. "I'm just massaging you, Al. There's no way I'm gonna get tired and anfal."

The door shook his eyes. Look at the door that opens.

"Ra, can you help me downstairs for a second?"

"Oh, yes, Ma."

"Wait downstairs, yeah, son."

The girl nodded her head. Then, look at her husband who is still focusing on the laptop screen. "I'll go downstairs soon. If you need anything, just call me" he said, laying his hands on Reyhan's shoulders.

Reyhan looked at his girl with a sweet smile.

"Don't get tired" advises Nadhira and gently taps Reyhan's head.

"Yes, Sweetheart. Comehere! Before you get out hug." Reyhan was spoiled towards Nadhira. Besides that man is now more able to keep his emotions. He became a spoiled man who could not be far from his wife. He is increasingly sensitive to Nadhira's health. Even with the girl's body.

The girl looked at her husband with slightly narrowed eyes. Because, a knotty smile that has framed beautifully on her soft lips.

Nadhira poked his hand on the neck of the man before him. Penetrating the gaze on that pitch-black netra. "The strong. We're going through it together." The girl hugged her husband tightly.

Reyhan returned the hug was no less tight. He drowned his face at the nape of Nadhira. Enjoying the scent of lavender that radiates to the senses. The smell that he never tired of enjoying.

...***...

"Ma," called the girl while landing her little hand on Mama's shoulder.

Mama just looked at me for a minute. Then, back struggling with a variety of vegetables in front of him. "Help Mama cook, yeah, son. Last night Reyhan told Mama. He said he wanted to cook tamarind vegetables and fried chicken sambal balado."

"Gee... Tumben, yes, Ma, brother Reyhan to merequest cuisine. Usually Reyhan will eat whatever food is served at the dining table," said the girl as her hands nimbly cut vegetables in front of her.

"Yes, Ra. Your husband's getting weird. Her behavior and desires are also often strange."

The girl chuckled at Mama's words.

"Ma," called Nadhira and looked at Mama with a serious look.

"Yes, Ra. Why?" mama asked without looking at her daughter-in-law.

"If only the granddaughter of the Mother. How's it?" ask the girl again with a serious look.

"Alhamdulillah" he answered briefly.

"If it's a man, Ma?"

"But Farhan wants Farhan's niece to be twins."

The sound came from the dining table near the kitchen. The two women of different generations looked back. Then, comment on the sweet smile on the man who just came in the denim suit.

"Well, the new CEO is handsome too, huh. Not inferior to her brother," praise Mama as well as tease her second child.

"Farhan is not the CEO, Ma. Farhan only replaced Reyhan's brother for a while. Until Reyhan's condition improves and can return to the office again."

"It's the same, son," Mama replied and stared fixedly at her son's face. There was something strange about Farhan's face. The man looked even paler than usual. Mama cleaned her hands in the sink and slowly stepped toward Farhan who was still sitting alone.

Nadhira followed where Mama's steps were. Until he found the middle-aged woman was already sitting in front of his second son. Nadhira did not know what the mother and child were talking about. He focused again on kitchen tools and materials.

Not with Mama. The woman stared at Farhan's face. That of course made Farhan look back at him with a confused and clueless look. The man's eyebrows shot up next to.

"What's up, Ma?"

"You sick, son? Why does your face look so pale? Not as usual."

"No, Ma. Farhan is fine. Farhan's just a tadjob. Perhaps it was because Farhan had not gotten used to the weight of office work. Unlike Brother," replied Farhan trying to calm and reassure Mama who had printed clear look worried on his old face that began to look wrinkled.

"Are you sure, son? You're not lying to Mama, are you?" ask Mama suspiciously. Indeed, blood is thicker than water. The middle-aged woman really felt that something was wrong with the condition of her second child. For some reason bad thoughts suddenly ambushed him. Mama do.

Farhan clasped Mama's hand tightly. "No, Ma. Farhan is fine."

"If you are sick. No need to force yourself, yes, son. You don't want your kids to get tired and then sick."

The man nodded.

"Now you go to the room. Shower and change your clothes. Then, rest. Mama will bring food to your room."

"No need, Ma. Farhan will have lunch together."

"All right." Mama looked at Farhan's back which was moving away. Somehow the middle-aged woman was really afraid to see Farhan's unusual look. There was a tremendous fear running through his body.

"Ma." Nadhira's call managed to make Mama jolted great.

"What's up, Ma? Why is Mama staring at Farhan like that? Farhan's fine, isn't he, Ma?" nadhira asked a few questions.

The woman shook her head without turning her gaze away from Farhan who was still treading the stairs one by one. "Mama's not sure Farhan's okay. His face looks pale. But, he just said that he's tired of the office work he's not used to."

Nadhira's gaze was thrown towards Mama's gaze. Until the man who was the focus of both of them disappeared behind the tightly closed room door.

"Already, yes, Ma. Percayalag that Farhan's okay."

Mama exhaled a rough breath. "Huh! I hope so."

"Mama just rest. Calm your mind. Let Nadhira continue cooking."

The woman's head just shook. "It's okay, son. Mom will continue this work first. Mama wants to cook the food your husband wants to eat. It'll eat very well." The woman smiled broadly at the thought of how her eldest child would go back to eating voraciously after recently having no appetite for food.

"Yes already, Ma. But, later if Mama wants to rest. Thats okay. Just rest. Nadhira can cook by himself."

Mama smiled sweetly looking at her daughter-in-law's son. "Thank you, son."
