JENNIFER: FOR FREEDOM (48)

"Where are we going?"

"Visiting someone's grave,"

...

A week had passed, Vallene was already able to stand on his own and recovered slowly even though his injuries were still wet. Kenneth, too, has recovered.

The next day, at exactly three in the afternoon Vallene, Vallice, and Kenneth were getting ready. They brought a change of clothes and some of their needs.

Fred's family's car was ready up front, they finished cleaning up what they were going to take and get out.

"Where are we going?" kenneth asked as he went down the front stairs. And when they had stepped on the ground, Vallene answered Kenneth's question.

"Visiting someone's grave" replied Vallene.

Someone's grave? Is..., the grave of Vallene's parents?

Kenneth was silent because he thought, their short story is already in the middle of the journey. Vallice fell asleep in his chair sitting next to Kenneth.

Vallene watched from the rearview in, Vallice fell asleep with a tender to Kenneth's shoulder. So did Kenneth who fell asleep and tendered to the head of Vallice who tendered to his shoulder.

Vallene could see that because he was sitting next to the driver's bench, Vallene chuckled at Kenneth and Vallice falling asleep.

"Sir, is this far away?" ask Vallene to the driver.

"No, a few more turns will be up to Vallene." replied the driver.

Vallene nodded and kept silent, he then looked out the car glass. He saw that in fact they passed through a quiet forest and rather creepy because the tree was large and the atmosphere was quiet.

But there were still some people passing by as well besides them, not many and not often. Of course it was not the car that Vallene rode, but the horse-drawn carriage and other carts powered by animals.

"This has entered his village, you see from here began there are some people passing by." exclaimed the driver.

"Yes, right!" answer Vallene.

*Tok *Tok *Tok.

"Yes for a minute" replied someone who was inside.

The door opened and the house owners welcomed their arrival.

"Eh? Ms...., Miss Fred?" said the owner of the house.

"Yes." replied Vallice politely.

They were all invited into the house.

"Ehh, what's wrong Miss...? It's nice if my house is visited by Miss, but if you may ask.., what needs I want to fulfill.." said the owner of the house.

There Kenneth, Vallene, Vallice, and the driver sat on the floor because Miranda's house had no seats.

"Are you the mother of Aunt Miranda...?" vallene said softly.

"Ah right Miss..," replied Miranda's mother with a lowered head.

"Here I want to visit the tomb of Bi Miranda..., does Aunt allow me?" vallene.

"Of course Miss..," replied Miranda's mother with teary eyes.

"Thank you" said Vallice.

"Thank you..Why is Aunt crying?" vallene said, realizing.

Because Vallene asked, Miranda's mother who initially held back her cries became crying.

"Auntie...," restless Vallene.

"Miranda is my only child, she is my hope.Miranda's father, my husband, suffered a stroke and was paralyzed for eight years. Miranda is the one who has been living us, but....

Miranda finally came home, five years ago Miranda left this house to work. And that night my daughter came home, coming home in a different state to my daughter five years ago." Miranda's mother cried.

"Miranda came home, she was already in the crate. I immediately cried so much, I could not make my daughter happy.I had only been burdening my daughter, my daughter had left. For three days I cried hugging my daughter's headstone." said Miranda's mother with tears in her eyes.

"I'm sorry Miss.., sir.., I didn't mean. I'm going to change clothes, I just finished cooking." Miranda's mother said as she wiped her tears in a hurry.

"Auntie.." murmured Vallene.

Miranda's mother heard and just smiled, then Miranda's mother went into the room to change clothes.

"Who is Miranda?" kenneth asked Vallene.

"He was the servant of the Fred family, who was quite close to me and Vallice" Vallene replied.

The two of them turned their heads after heading towards Vallice after they spoke to each other. As it sounded, it turned out that Vallice was crying.

"Vallen.." said Vallene, trying to caress Vallice. Vallice hugged Vallene and cried loudly.

"Sister..," murmured Vallice who was not so clear.

"All right, miss, and sir, I'll be waiting in the car." said the driver, Kenneth assented the driver and told the driver to get out immediately because he did not want the current state of Vallice to be seen by others.

Not long after that Vallice calmed down. Vallice broke away from the embrace while wiping away the tears.

"If you don't want to, just wait in the car. I don't want to see you like this." Vallene said to Vallice, and Vallice nodded.

Then Miranda's mother came out of the room.

"All right, I'll take you ladies, sir." said Miranda's mother.

"This is my son's grave." said Miranda's mother.

Vallene, Kenneth and Miranda's mother have arrived at Miranda's grave. Vallene then crouched down beside Miranda's grave, Kenneth standing next to Vallene.

"Eh..., who is this lady? Uh.., sorry if I was presumptuous.just I've never seen this Miss so.., a little confused..," said Miranda's mother.

Vallene stood up from his squat, looking down at the headstone Miranda Vallene explained.

"My name is Vallene, and Auntie don't call me miss. I'm also no honor compared to Auntie." said Vallene.

"Ah.., emm..," Miranda's mother was confused as to what to answer, and Vallene simply smiled. Things got a little weird.

"Why isn't Miss Vallice coming with us?" miranda's mother tried to ask him something else.

"He's tired and resting in Aunt's car" Kenneth said.

...

"Mr Kenneth! Mister..., ah I finally found you."

"What's the driver?" said Kenneth who was confused because the driver suddenly came running, the driver looked a little rushed.

"That's.., madam.., Madam Fred is coming tonight. Back home, and he wants Miss Vallice to welcome him." said the driver.

"Ahkk..," cried Kenneth.

*Tok tock.

"Excuse me...,"

*Tok tock.

*Door opens.

"Who? Why did you come in the evening this evening, in the middle of the forest."

"I'm here as your foster child" he said, giving a letter.

"Yes, I understand. Make yourself comfortable" said the owner of the house who took the child into his house. Then the door is closed.

...

"You are now entrusted to me, you must follow my rules here. I'm also in charge of looking after you."
