Gentleman Dignity

Gentleman Dignity
Prologues

.

It rained a bit today. Rio was calmly driving his old sedan car. This afternoon he had a lunch appointment with his friends. In their favorite ramen shop since their teens.

This ramen shop is simple, but it carries a lot of stories and history. They're not stopping doing silly things here. Uncle Thoshi had even considered them his own parents. At an old age he still enjoys his life being a chef.

Rio parked his car next to Nicholas' car . He usually takes the train. But today it was raining pretty hard. And it's much more comfortable driving your own vehicle. When Rio came in. He saw Nicholas sipping his tea, his left hand clamping a cigarette. The shirt is slung on the arm of the chair, leaving a black shirt. Without saying much Rio sat in front of him.

Nicholas kinda raises an eyebrow. Staring at Rio with gaze ’you're okay?’ . Not without reason, Rio's appearance was very messy, his training suit was shabby. And his face is a little bruised. Rio felt his cheeks slightly ache. Rio shrugged his shoulders slightly.

“Custom, there is always a fight. This was accidentally hit while trying to break up,” Rio said.

" Oh .. I guess you got robbed.” Nicholas grinned over the agony of his friend, insolent.

“Thank you for your sympathies,” Rio sarcasm quip.

“Ya equally.” Damn Nicholas who was never affected by this provocation.

“How do you work?” rio asked in passing.

“Current, as usual.” Nicholas looked at Rio again after a long time staring at his phone.

“Those boys must be so cute that they make you battered.” Nicholas narrowed his eyes as he said that.

“Yes they have always been a part of my suffering," lamented Rio.

“Investment only. Open your own business.” Nicholas repeated the same advice perhaps dozens of times.

“No. I've felt enough.” Rio chimed in indifferently.

“Omong empty.” Nicholas clucking. And checked his phone again.

“I heard last night, you had dinner with my dad?” Rio's asking a little shy.

“Yes we are running a project together," replied Nicholas in passing.

“How's it going?” rio asked softly.

Nicholas raised his eyebrows. "What news?”

“My father's news, How is my father?” Rio asked awkwardly.

Nicholas looked at Rio long before replying, "Good as it is.”

“ Looks like?”

“Don't you feel weird asking your parents about your friends?” Nicholas looked at Rio sharply.

“Yes, I just haven't seen him for a long time," Rio complained as he stared at his teacup.

“Know not in my day there is a technology called phone.” Nicholas spoke the word telephone in English. Mocking Rio.

“Then you think I live in what age damn.”

“No idea, if you don't know the phone's function, it means you live in the stone age. Call your parents, you're not a teenager anymore who's running away, are you? what you're avoiding, actually," Nicholas' cerocos is a little upset.

“Entahlah. Know no I miss them so much" Rio said in a floating tone.

“Yes, yes, he just talks to the wind. I'm sick of hearing it.” Nicholas did not take his eyes off the mobile screen.

“Damn you," sumpat Rio.

“Please swear as much as young master. No need to use a plane to stop by their place.”

“I think it's more than just a plane to stop by their place." Rio was always ready to debate Nicholas as usual.

“You just have to relax a little. Your mother will probably nag you. But that's how all mothers are." Nicholas lifted his shoulder as he said that.

Rio did not answer. Rio actually wanted to go home to his parents. But Rio was lazy to get his mother's passionate lecture about marriage. And all the matchmaking she offered.

Sean's sister Rio's just waiting for the time to marry his lover. Their engagement event even became a warm talk. The son of a former governor and heir to his father's company is engaged to a young female activist and a public figure.

But that's not what's bothering Rio. It's just that the closer their wedding date is, the more often Rio gets talked about by people. More and more her mother tried to save her reputation. By doing things that Rio thought were in vain. In vain because Rio was never willing to agree, Rio did not care about the sight of others, and his mother did not care about Rio's indifference. And I don't know how it always bothered Rio.

Chris arrived not long after his black hair got wet. His appearance is very messy. Nicholas got up giving him a handkerchief.

“Outside the rain is very heavy. I regret not driving this morning. I thought the day would be bright" Chris said as he sat down on a chair.

“Weather forecast says today it's raining heavily,” said Nicholas flatly.

“I don't have time to turn on the television in the morning Nicholas," replied Chris equally flatly.

“Truely, indeed who has more time in the morning for television.coincidentally I have a phone to give me information.”

Rio laughed hearing Nicholas say that flatly. And Chris's face was upset.

“You talk to me like I'm an outdated old man" Chris said as he sat down.

“Sucks no, he even just lectured me about phone.” Rio said the word telephon to insinuate Nicholas .

Nicholas only smiled obliquely in response. The perfect master of Yericho came from the door. It looks so neat. Typical of Yericho. Rio had always wanted to know Yericho's secret in order not to produce a tangled frown on his shirt as he wore it for almost half a day.

“Did I miss something interesting?” Yericho asked as he sat next to Rio. Maybe when he entered he heard Rio laughing.

“Ouh this rich master, just lectured us about technology.” Rio replied while holding back a laugh.

Yericho raised next to his eyebrows, trying to understand. But after that he did not ask again. They started ordering ramen. No one talks when they eat. I don't know since when they applied the dining table. Maybe when they feel too old to be silly. Or their sense of humor that so extinguished since the chaos of life continues to come at every opportunity even though it is just a small gap. That is what it means to be an adult.

“Oh ... shit!" Yericho cursed and choked, making his three friends raise their faces looking at him in wonder.

Yericho was heard clearing his throat.

“Triple hours.” He whispered with the corner of his lips and pointed at the direction with a glance.

The three of them looked in the direction he pointed. At the entrance, a woman was sensually drying her wet shirt, water dripping from her wavy brown hair. The woman was wearing a very short skirt. Her legs are smooth without stockings. Looks sexy with her bright red stilettos. Her face was pretty even though her lips were polished too red. Instantly Rio gulped his saliva. All of his friends must have felt the same way.

“I don't know when it rains like this the air can be this hot.” Chris muttered while loosening his tie.

“He's got a beautiful waist," murmured Nicholas .

"Isn't she hot Yo?" chris asked Rio.

"Why are you asking me?" rio's reply was fierce.

"Why? you seem to enjoy the view."

"Ap - what. No." Denying Rio fast. "It's not. I'm not enjoying anything."

"Why are you so upset?" Nicholas asked while raising his eyebrows.

"Listen gentlemen never talk about indecent things in public spaces," Rio said firmly.

Nicholas and Chris rolled their eyes. Shake your head and start eating again.

“what are you doing?” Chris cheered me down Yericho.

“I am praying," replied Yericho without lifting his face.

“Praying to avoid sins in beautiful demon umbar?” Chris asked in a serious tone.

“True, with all my might I will avoid it." Yericho held back a laugh in his sentence.

Rio looked at her slightly frowning. Not because of the words. But because of the laughter that Yericho endured. Seeing that, Yericho continued.

"I'm really going to avoid it. Trust me."

Then suddenly they laughed. Leaving Rio who was shaking in the midst of their laughter.

Today ended up being quite pleasant, Rio felt so. Sometimes in his silence, Rio always tried to guess, about the things they were looking for in this life. Will they always be like this. Walk in place. Or find something that may be nonsense but can make them proud to have lived life diligently.

They are no longer young, and as they get older. Things that 'maybe' look impossible. Trivia becomes complicated. And when the decision must be taken the path that passed her must rotate by emphasizing the word ‘howo’.

The four of them were like coming back on a blank paper waiting for fate. Destiny will write their story again. And when and how destiny bites. Rio wished they could still be a crutch for one from the other. Be alert when someone falls back into the dark.
