CHAPTER 10: The Lies of the Moon

Being the CEO of the company is not an easy job, lately Alvaro is busy with big projects until he feels tired. But it was good for him who did not want to linger at home staring at his wife. He would rather linger in the office than at home in response to his chatty wife. His work in the office is quite time consuming even just to relax can not.

Mahendra Groub is engaged in dozens of business fields spread throughout Indonesia. The travel business he managed lately has progressed quite rapidly after seeing the first company is almost bankrupt because the investment run by his father Alvaro failed because it was deceived by his own partner. Almost all the shares owned by Dirga Suryo Mahendra were sold to pay his debt, this incident really made the Mahendra family in a fog.

The company that his father painstakingly built had a huge influence in the business world. Although on the verge of bankruptcy but slowly Alvaro can certainly revive it as successful as before. It is undeniable that for the sake of supporting this damn company Alvaro must marry the Moon, because only the Bramasta family-owned company can save his father's business.

Zhafran Hadi Bramasta even with his wealth paid off all his father's debts and he also gave a sizable injection of funds to Mahendra Groub. Because the kindness of the Bramasta family made his father Alvaro unable to dwell, he was made submissive by the Bramasta family. Because without the help of the wealthy family, Mahendra's family must have become homeless. Alvaro knows that his father Moon is currently meritorious, but the young man does not like how his father Alvaro's act, Dirga, who instead betrothed himself to the woman.

From a young age he had already demanded this and it was obeying his father's will. Alvaro did not even have the freedom to voice his wishes, his father was too harsh in educating him. Dirga has a selfish nature, for his sake he is willing to change the happiness of his son for property. If Alvaro had been braver against his father he might never have married a fucking woman like the Moon.

Alvaro sighed tiredly, after a long time he daydreamed about unimportant things finally focused back on one point, a man who was doing a presentation. The young man explained a detailed picture of the automotive product to be launched. Alvaro just silently watched and weighed the product proposal submitted by the man.

This afternoon Alvaro did hold a meeting in his office with another company. He sat in a chair while focusing on watching a man in front.

"We are confident that our products will sell well in the market. If your company shares in our company, we can split the results later. Honestly we really need capital for the launch of this product." Said the man in the suit in front of him confidently.

"How about Mr Alvaro?" Ask later, while Alvaro still observes a monitor screen that presents product offerings from his business partners.

Alvaro. "Well, I'm willing to plant a stake in your company." Tutored firmly.

It looks like the man who bears as the leader of the company smiled satisfied with his success in presenting products, so as to attract the interest of large companies such as Mahendra Groub to work together.

"Thank you sir." The man shook Alvaro's hand.

Alvaro stood up from his seat. "It looks like today's meeting is over, I'm ending it here. Good day." His words were short with a firm tone.

"Good, sir." Answer them all in unison while nodding obediently, then say goodbye out of the meeting room.

Alvaro wants to go to the cafeteria to buy food while calming his mind off the busy work routine, enough to stress him out. But when he stepped his feet out of the meeting room he was stopped by his secretary.

"Sorry sir I'm interrupting, I want to tell you that Mr. Zhafran would like to meet you. He is currently waiting in your office." Alvaro raised his eyebrows, apparently his father-in-law had returned from Sweden. At least as a good daughter-in-law, shouldn't she welcome him. He did not want the old man to think of him as a disrespectful son-in-law for ignoring his in-laws presence.

Alvaro saw the Rolex clock in his hand, less than 30 minutes away from lunch break. He decided to meet his in-laws first.

Alvaro looked at his secretary. "Rim please tell OB to make 2 coffees and deliver them to my room immediately." His order.

"Good Sir." Rima the secretary nodded obediently.

Alvaro let out a heavy sigh, he put his foot forward walking towards his study. He opened the door, the large, cold room was visible with the arrival of the middle-aged man in a gray suit sitting on a sofa while playing his expensive phone.

Alvaro closed his eyes for a moment, to be honest he was actually too lazy to meet with his in-laws.

A few seconds later, he opened his eyes again. "Papa." Call Alvaro then.

Hearing the son-in-law's voice, Zhafran stood up and extended his hand to shake his hand while patting Alvaro on the shoulder. "Ahh, Alvaro long enough we didn't meet ya. How are you?" ask Zhafran.

Alvaro smiled as he shook his in-laws hand. "My news is good Pa. Papa how?"

"Very well, I'm as happy as being reborn young." Said Zhafran with a radiant face makes Alvaro happy to hear it.

"Please, sit down Pa." Alvaro allowed his in-laws to sit back.

"I heard that you have successfully collaborated with Giandra for a hotel construction project in Bali, is that true?" Zhafran asked opening the topic.

"Hm, yes Pa is right." Said Alvaro, he became upset himself if given the incident where he almost failed to get a big tender with Giandara because of the Moon. Because of that hot night, where the Moon worked with stimulants made Alvaro late to attend a meeting with Mr. Giandra.

Fortunately Alvaro is good at talking to make the right excuses, he even waited hours for the old man to give him another chance to present his idea and discuss the certainty of their cooperation to set up a hotel.

"It will be very profitable to work with great people like Giandra, considering he is an owner of the largest yacht production in Indonesia and he wants to add to his business by establishing luxury hotels. You'll never lose." Alvaro was always listening to his father-in-law. "Yahh, I admit working with Giandra is very difficult because he really pays attention to quality and he is a very disciplined person. I salute your persistence Al, you can earn the trust of a Giandra."

Alvaro smiled faintly, he became big-headed hearing himself being praised by his in-laws. Alvaro can certainly prove that he is able to build this larger company with his own efforts and efforts so that he can escape from the shade of the in-laws. Quite early on he went bankrupt and Zhafran helped him to pay off all Mahendra's debts and it became a burden for Alvaro. "I see the more days, your company is growing. I heard you also work in transportation and automotive." Zhafran said with a smile. "Well, I'm not worried that my grandson will starve in the future, because his life will be well secured."

Alvaro scrunched his forehead confused at the words of the in-laws. "Good-grandsons?" Alvaro asked confused while Zhafran instead chuckled at the expression on his daughter-in-law's face.

Tok...tok-s..tok! Amidst the conversation of the two of them, someone suddenly knocked on the door.

"My uncle OB wants to deliver coffee." He said from outside the door.

"Come in." Alvaro's orders in a cold tone. The man in the blue uniform walked in with a polite bow carrying a tray of coffee. He put that cup of coffee on the table.

Not wanting to linger disturbing his boss talk, the OB immediately resigned. "I'm sorry sir." He said in a polite tone. Alvaro just nodded his head. The office boy came out of the room to continue his work.

Alvaro turned to look at the in-law, he was still curious about Zhafran's words just now. "What did you have with your grandson?" ask her then to the point.

"I've said that I'm very happy, so happy I want to be young again because if I get older I'm afraid I can't carry my granddaughter." Another grandchild that his in-laws talk about, what's really going on? Alvaro is dizzy.

Alvaro's throat became thirsty, he lifted his cup of coffee then started sipping the pitch-black coffee. "Currently this month pregnant, you should take good care of your wife."

"Ohukk..uhukk." Alvaro choked with surprise, fortunately the coffee in his mouth was not to spray on his in-laws face. "What's? Who is?! Pregnant?" Alvaro said spontaneously. Did he not hear wrong?

Zhafran again smiled at Alvaro's surprised face. "The 2 months pregnant, your marriage is accelerated because of her pregnancy. Take it easy I won't be angry, I'm glad that even if she got pregnant before the wedding, you still want to account for what you did. You are my best friend's son, and I can rest easy knowing that you are the man my daughter loves."

Alvaro did not think, he did not expect. Your moon is really great, making up a big lie to trap him. Alvaro laughed at how stupid he had been all along. It is fitting that his marriage with Moon was accelerated so as not to provide an opportunity for Alvaro to draw up a plan to cancel the marriage. "Papa knows you must be troubled to take care of the Moon, even though she is an adult but her nature is sometimes still childish and spoiled." Zafran said. "He was indeed different from his sister Bintang who was quiet and independent. Moon is a chatty, selfish woman and often makes others upset because of her behavior. But know that my daughter Moon is actually a good and innocent woman. He cannot live alone, he needs a companion who can love him and take care of him. I was relieved to know that it was you who became my daughter's husband. I'm sure you can make it happy." Zhafran said confidently while patting Alvaro on the shoulder.

Alvaro muted his anger, he looked at the in-law with sharp eyes. "I know the character of the Moon because she was my best friend from childhood. She is a selfish woman and does her own thing." Alvaro stopped his words for a moment, but a few seconds later he continued. "Now that the Moon has become my wife, let me teach her how a wife behaves." Continue with a cynical smile.

Zhafran as a father smiled happily at Alvaro's words. He assumes that Alvaro is capable of being the best husband for his daughter. Though behind Alvaro's sweet promise that he said in front of Zhafran was just a joke.

A devious woman like Moon does not deserve affection, instead she deserves punishment for her lies all along. Alvaro said from the heart.
