HATRED

HATRED
The Terrible Sneer

Vin is forced to admit that he pushed Hendi's body from the window, so that no one is suspicious about the flying pot. He said he accidentally hit Hendi when passing in the hallway.

Yes, even though he accidentally hit Hendi, it seems like Hendi's body will not budge because of the big difference in their bodies. But strangely enough, the headmaster believes so with Vin's explanation and asks Vin to bring his guardian to come to school the next day.

Lucky for Vin because Hendi and his friends thought that someone threw the pot into Hendi's body. They think Vin confessed the act to save his friend who had helped him.

They didn't think Vin had done it. Yes of course they don't think that far because it's a nonsensical thing.

The night is getting late. Vin walked home after finishing his part-time job.

He toyed with the pebbles he passed through with his new strength. The pebble floated in the air around it.

Vin was so happy to get that power. He didn't care where the power came from, why he could get it and what he got it for. What is clear now is that he has it and can use it to protect himself from people who have been doing evil to him.

Instantly the floating pebbles fell when he remembered that tomorrow he had to take his guardians to school. He got dizzy thinking about who was going to school with him, which of course was not his father.

Vin thought about who he knew, but he didn't know anyone. Suddenly he remembered Veronika.

"True Veronika," he said.

Vin rushes back to his house, hoping Veronika is home when he gets home. This was inversely proportional to the previous days when she very much did not want Veronika to be in her house. Veronika is at home. Vin is so grand.

Veronika lay on the sofa of the living room while watching TV.

"Where are you going, my father looking for you?" greet Vin making small talk.

Veronika got up from her sleep looking to the right and to the left and looked at Vin. "You talk to me?"

Vin is very irritated by Veronika's ridiculous behavior. "Of course I'm talking to you, who else is here?"

"It's a miracle" said Veronika, raising her hands up, "after five months we've been together, finally a Vin who hates me so much wants to talk to me."

Vin is furious and almost throws the glass on the table at Veronika's head with his new power.

"Tomorrow my guardian was told to come to school. I want you to represent him" said Vin, who would no longer mince words as he passed to his room.

"Oh. there was a wish" said Veronika again lying on the sofa.

"I'll give you my dad's combination number if you want to!" vin shouted from inside the room.

Veronika immediately got up from the sofa and headed to Vin's room. "Do you know the number?" Vin nodded.

"How much?" tanya Veronika was excited.

"Do your job first, and I'll tell you."

"Deal," Veronika replied excitedly. He knew right in Vin's father's safe there was a lot of money. He often saw her when Father Vin opened it.

Vin's dad said it wasn't his money, it was his boss's money. But Veronika doesn't care whose money it is. He'll get it and get away from this rotten city.

In the morning, Vin's father was home. But he was still sound asleep when Vin and Veronika left the house. They also walked through the houses to the bus stop.

"Where did you find that outfit?" vin asked when he saw Veronika wearing a white shirt wrapped in a black blezer and a black skirt.

"Good right, I look like a career woman," Veronika said as she looked at her appearance. "I found it in your dad's closet. Maybe this belonged to his ex-wives first."

"Oh yeah, by the way what are you doing so your wali has to come to school?" ask Veronika.

"I accidentally bumped into a student while passing by in the hallway and he fell out of the window" Vin replied.

"Did the boy die?" ask Veronika again.

"Unfortunately not," Vin said annoyedly.

Veronika looked at him and said, "You deliberately bumped into him?" Vin was silent.

"Huh..," said Veronika, "i was also bullied in school because I was poor and my origins were unclear. I don't even know who my real father is," Veronika's face looked sad, "life is really terrible."

Vin stopped in the midst of Veronika's complaint.

"What's wrong?" ask Veronika.

"Nothing." Vin continues his path followed by Veronika. He was really disappointed that the hoodlums were nowhere to be. Vin had intended to teach them a lesson today.

They also boarded a bus that Vin used to ride every day.

"Later at school just say that you're my brother. Say that our parents are dead and that's whatever the principal says" Vin looked at Veronika sitting next to him.

"Alright, I understand," Veronika replied.

After a few minutes, they arrived at the school and headed for the headmaster's room. They waited in the room for a while until the principal arrived.

"So you're Vin's Wall?" the headmaster asked Veronika shortly after entering the room.

"Vin, you can go back to your class. I'll talk to your brother."

Vin obeyed the principal's orders and left the room. But before leaving he had a chance to look at Veronika and Veronika blinked one eye.

In the classroom, Vin felt uneasy. He was afraid that Veronika would say useless things and even incriminate her punishment. Many times she looked out through the window of her class, just in case Veronika had come out.

About half an hour later, Veronika is seen walking in the field towards the school gate. Vin threw a paper at him. Veronika looked up to see Vin in the window and she raised her two thumbs up with a smile.

Veronika sees Vin's father opening his safe. He saw the money was still in it.

"You haven't slept?" ask Vin's father while locking the safe again.

"In a moment, I want to watch my favorite movie first" Veronika said as she walked out of the room.

"I'll go to bed first, don't forget to lock the door when you sleep later" Vin's father said. "I don't want that kid coming into my room while I'm sleeping and killing me."

"Yes" replied Veronika.

A few minutes later, Vin's father seemed to have fallen asleep. Veronika twirled in the living room while occasionally looking at the wall clock. It's been 11pm but Vin hasn't come home yet. She wants to collect Vin's promise that will give her husband's safe combination number.

"Kreek.." I heard the front door open. Veronika immediately ran slowly towards him. He did not want to wake up Vin's already sleeping father.

"How much?" veronika asked quietly after getting close to Vin.

"Tell me first, what the principal said," Vin said.

"She said this time she forgave you and asked me to keep an eye on you. But the next time you make a mistake again, he'll be forced to take you out of school."

"698939," said Vin then who made Veronika happy.

"What will you do after you get the money?"

"Of course leave the old man behind" whispered Veronika.

"You're gonna take it now?"

"Are you telling me to die, of course not. I'll pick it up tomorrow after your father goes to work." Veronika leaves Vin for her room, closes it and locks it.

Before going to bed, Veronika looked at the safe. He smiled at the thought that the money would be his.

In the morning Veronika wakes up and sees Vin's father still asleep. He looked back at the safe that would be his. But something strange, the safe was a little open. Out of curiosity, he approached the safe and sure enough, the safe was not tightly closed.

He grew curious and opened the safe. And how surprised he was when he saw the safe was already empty. The piles of money she still saw last night when her husband opened it before going to bed, were gone.

"What are you doing?" a voice came from behind him. Looks like Vin's father is awake.

"Deg deg deg." Veronika's heart was racing.

"Where's my money!" father Vin shouted jumping towards his safe.

"No, it wasn't me who took it," said Veronika trembling.

Vin's father looked around his room in case anyone came in while they were sleeping. He checked the doors and windows but they were still locked. There was no sign of anyone entering.

Vin's father looked at Veronika and said, "You took it?"

"No, no... Ahhhh." Vin's father grabbed Veronika's hair and banged her in the closet.

"Where are you hiding it!" vin's father shouted on the sidelines the sound of punches repeatedly on Veronika's face.

"I don't know, I don't know!" yelled Veronika hysterically.

Vin's father ransacked the room trying to find the money he thought Veronika was hiding.

Vin who had heard the commotion from his room, did not care at all and continued his sleep.

"I want my money back when I get home and don't try to run away if you don't want me to report it to the police" Vin's father locked the door and left Veronika inside.

"Hiks.. hiks.." there was a sobbing of Veronika from inside her room.

Vin came out when he found out his father was gone. He walked over to Veronika's room and the locked room opened.

Veronika is surprised, thinking her husband is back again but it turns out that Vin is standing in front of her bedroom door.

Vin looked at Veronika who was sitting drooping on the floor with a bruised face and a bloody mouth. Instantly he smiled.

Smile more like a grin.

What a horrible grin.
