Hellbents
Chapter 109: Friends on the Road

Like breakfast in the previous days, the atmosphere in the restaurant that morning was quiet. Dom could only growl in annoyance, and Lorah was already used to patting her brother on the back, warning.

"Sister River, I'm sure Brother Rina is fine." The little girl clearly had more manners than her older brother.

River who had not touched his corn soup earlier let out a long sigh. Since the sudden departure of Rina one month ago, her chest felt tight, her heart pounding worriedly every second. It was true that her travel companion had left a message in the [System] store, so she was sure that it was Rina herself who wrote it, not the kidnapper, murderer, or other pretender bad person. But he still could not rule out the possibility that Rina was forced to write the message. How then?

Bad thoughts continue to haunt River's days.

Dom who saw it clucked in annoyance. Wonderful, why the good taming man was so crybaby. "If you're so worried, just send another message, ask yourself!"

River himself knew that was the most effective way. But ... "Can I?"

"What can't?!"

"I mean, Rina and I are actually strangers, we've known each other for only a few months. If Rina is okay, wouldn't my message be disturbing? But if he's not okay, what am I supposed to do?" Once again, River was drowning in despair.

Of course it even raises Dom's blood pressure. "Is it hard to send a message?!" River's mind-setting path with the delinquent Dom is indeed different.

Lorah also interceded, "I'm sure Kak Rina won't mind just sending a message. Even if Kak Rina was busy, the reply that Kak River received would take longer. Just like that."

For the first time River raised his gloomy face, smiling faintly at the little girl.

"Well, right! After all, among the three of us, Rina is closest to you!" That is why Dom voluntarily interfered, behind his harsh sentences, he still noticed two different humans with other humans he met. And although Dom urges River to send a message to Rina, he himself does not want to. He felt inferior to something if he sent a message first.

In other words, his own ego is holding Dom.

So even though the three were curious about the same thing, River was the one who had the most chance to find an answer.

River then observed again the unchanged message column from a month ago. The last sentence is from him.

If you're all right, thank goodness then.

There was no reply from Rina.

... Right, River has to be brave.

There is no harm in sending a message. Although every time Lina looked cold, she was actually a good girl, River was sure of that.

He finally decided.

River started typing in the air. Unfortunately the longer, his fingers slowed down, until the next five seconds he stopped.

... Is he not acting so close?

Dom again growled. He was familiar with the doubtful face of River.

"God! Just do!"

They returned to their starting position.
