Chapter 59: The Thief?

"What's this?" Ava asked with a confused face that convinced anyone the audience was uproar there.

Looking at Ava, Woodrow almost jumped up to attack the girl, completely forgetting her age or her body that was no longer fit. What was still the same from his youth was just a voice that was too loud.

"Don't be a holy snob! You're not a hero, just a lowly thief!"

The crowd in front of the room was getting more and more crowded. From the doorway, Ava could already see some people who were bending eyebrows, strongly disagreeing. The girl's reputation leaves Ava with a bias gap from a glance.

"Can you explain what happened?" The public saw it positively, so Ava was deliberately polite in a subtle and patient tone. While his opponent was a grandfather who was still wearing pajamas with brilliant fur, propped up by the body of a uniformed staff who from afar already looked uncomfortable, abusive and angry parents. These two things clearly created a huge contrast between him and the peacock grandfather.

"Where's my wand?! Where's my wand?!" Ava was amazed by the volume felt from the old man.

"What wand do you mean?" First plan, pretend stupid.

"Don't hesitate! I know you're the one who stole my wand!"

"Once again, what stick do you mean? Besides, why would I steal a stick?"

"Because you're poor, lowly girls don't know themselves!" Uncorrelated or plausible reasons. The peacock's grandfather dug his own grave without Ava dribbling.

"I'll appreciate it if you calmly explain the situation." So far, Ava is in control.

"Really! Don't be indecisive!" One of the people from the crowd suddenly shouted in defense. And that becomes a trigger. A sea of complaints instantly flooded the passageway and everything was aimed at Woodrow.

The old grandfather who was originally angry, now became furious, "Shut up! You're subordinates!" Wrong move, Woodrow. In this way, the peacock grandfather instantly made the public his enemy.

"Two jackbirds only know how to yell!"

"A little bit of arrogance!"

"I accuse people for no reason, just say envy!"

Various insults against Woodrow's opposition were rife in the ears of everyone, who also invited dozens more spectators who participated in the mass.

Although his views are still red, Woodrow eventually admits he can't win an argument from the public, so he takes the only path he knows to solve the problem, money.

Therefore he broke away from the staff who had supported him earlier, "Call the captain of the ship, hurry!" He had already raised his room level, upstairs, in other words Woodrow should have earned the honor, respect, and more service from the lower floor passengers.

"No need, I already called him from earlier," Yong interjected.

Had Ava not planned the intricacies of this theft first, Yong would have been the cause of his imprisonment. Why did he call for authority when everyone was siding with Ava?! Let this mess continue until the peacock grandfather gives up on his own!

But fortunately Ava has multiple plans.

Coinciding with Yong's statement, a burly man in uniform who had always been followed by at least three of the ship's staff arrived amidst the crowd.

"What's this problem?" The captain looked unhappy, recognizing the faces of the parties concerned.

"This man is accusing-"

"He stole my wand!" without hesitation the peacock grandfather pointed right at Ava's face, cutting Yong's sentence that was still not finished.

By the way, that grandfather was not aware that he was facing off against the head of the Canthan Guild?

The captain of the ship had no good impression from the first time he saw the peacock's grandfather quarrelling a week ago in his scorching colorful clothes, but now the old man dared to interrupt a guild master who was ranked in the top 10 internationally? Is he crazy or what?

"I'm sorry for this inconvenience, Mr. Gu," the captain lowered his head in embarrassment.

"It's okay, but this acquaintance of mine is being accused of stealing by the Master over there."

Woodrow was surprised, not expecting this, that he should have received an apology. He should! So he barks back, "Hey, captain, I said this lowly girl stole my wand!"

"I've heard ..., sir." Ava could practically hear the teeth grinding, the captain's jaw tightening in annoyance.

"Miss Rina, may I ask you a few things?" The burly man stepped closer with a fake smile towards Ava.

"Oh, I can," Ava said calmly.

"What Miss stole the "stick" this Master talked about?" Seeing the burly man quote this stolen item, Ava's victory was already halfway through.

"No," lying is Ava's forte.

The captain turned around, this time facing Woodrow with a cold expression, "Miss Rina doesn't acknowledge the charges you've made."

The old man was gaping, not believing the half-hearted interrogation that had just taken place, "You call that an investigation?! Where are the thieves who confessed their own deeds?! Use your brains, dong!" He did not hold back at all.

Some people from the crowd gasped. While the captain had thrown the peacock grandpa dozens of times into the sea in his imagination.

Although the spectacle in front of him was getting more exciting, Ava intended to quickly clear up the matter, as well as humiliate the old man. "Then let us turn his back on what evidence do you accuse me of being the thief of this "stick?"

"It's not clear, you-"

"Because honestly I can't see my connection to this theft incident. If you accuse only based on mere assumptions without clear evidence, Delikola, the kingdom to which this ship is based in the Feretrum Sanctus archipelago has a pretty severe law against defamation, fake news, as well as the commotion on public means."

"H-Huh?" Despite his high self-worth, Woodrow could actually only make good alcoholic beverages, which was why his efforts were successful, but for legal matters he was blind.

Ordering a paid murder in Purple Orchid is an action driven by anger and impulsivity, although it is also a crime but the possibility of someone knowing that he is the mastermind behind it is very small.

But this problem has become public consumption, many witnesses also witnessed how he exploded as he pointed to Rina as the perpetrator.

Suddenly Woodrow felt like he was being watered by cold water. He's made a mistake.

But so far he has not been able to retreat. In any way Lina should be the thief of her wand.

So with his back bent, Woodrow tried his hardest to break through the open door of the room.

"My wand will definitely be found here, just look!" His wrinkled hands ransacked mercilessly every corner of the small room.

Yong and the captain had just stepped forward to stop the old man's insanity, but they were both held captive by Ava, one of the room's occupants, who was in the room, letting Woodrow look wild in people's eyes.

Ava already thought that after realizing it, he was the main suspect in the eyes of the peacock grandfather. Because just last night he became the target of his hatred, to bring up HP on the status window of that person.

And anger blinds logic, Woodrow goes straight into a trap.

"Inventories! My wand must be in your inventory!" Not finding his wand even after ravaging the room, Woodrow switched targets.

But Ava is ready.

Disclosure of inventory can only be done after there is an official letter from the authorities, but for this time Ava voluntarily publishes the contents of her inventory to everyone.

Herbal plant. Herbal plant. Body part monster. Mana stone. Potion bottle.

There are no sticks.

Because the gold stick had been thrown into the sea since this morning.

Ava no longer cared about how many coins she could have if she sold the golden-headed stick.

Ava's just being a petty person.
