Hellbents
Chapter 37: Black Storm

"For security, you should stay quiet in the room" Ib suggested. The man instantly disappeared amidst a busy moving crowd.

"Cleasure! Attention! All passengers please return to their rooms! A great storm is coming! Repeat again, all passengers please return to their respective rooms! A great storm is coming!"

From the ship's window, only total darkness was visible, no moonlight was as purplish as Ava had seen when she first came in this dimension. The weather that night was bad.

River pulls Ava's hand, while Lorah is carried by Dom, feeling that the panicked mob will not be safe for the two girls.

"Excuse me, want to pass. Excuse me." In contrast to River who was still maintaining manners, Ava heard clearly the swearing in behind her from the impatient Dom, followed by a protest from the surrounding people, "Move there ah! You're blocking the way! Move say!"

"You should step aside, you beast!" One comment stood out from the rest, automatically making Ava turn her head, making River stop as well. Argh, of course, the peacock grandpa. The old man's clothes were still as unruly as the previous ones.

As expected, Dom did not budge, "You still haven't learned anything from the incident, Grandpa wrinkled."

"If it wasn't for the ship's captain interruption, you would have licked my shoes!"

"Fuck the ship captain! If you want to fight come on, kuladeni!"

"Dom."

The first time he heard her name being called by Ava properly, he immediately came to his senses. "It's not time to fight."

It can smell the rain that dominates the salty aroma of the sea, the storm is approaching.

"You better not show up in front of me again, old man, or I'll bite your head," with the last warning, the four of them ran back to the room.

Upon arriving, Ava immediately wrapped their belongings in a blanket, then carefully put them in a crate that was glued in the room. In this way, even if the ship swayed later, there would be no objects flying and could hit them.

The water and wind slowly grew louder. The walls of their rooms made of wood were already damp, just waiting for the time for the restroom to drip water.

Are there still no artifacts that detect these kinds of things? It may be the instinct of a sailor or their navigational science that only relies on the direction of the wind, stars, or whatever it is. Anything!

Ava, River, Dom, and Lorah sat on their respective lower beds, tensely feeling their bodies swinging due to the waves and storms. Lorah leaped up whenever the sound of lightning struck out loud, as if a giant whip was used to split the sky itself.

And ...

Pet!

Which generator is used to power the disconnected lights. Darkened. Lorah's screams that had been frightened didn't help.

River swiftly took out the prepared candles and matches in the room drawer, at least their room was not completely devoured by darkness.

Ava's bad feeling, now more chest tight, she wants to scream too. Frustrating.

He was trapped in a cramped and gloomy place, with no escape because he was on a ship in the middle of the ocean.

Eve. The kidnapper had better be honest when he told her that Ava could return home with the item she was looking for.

...

...

He really needs a mind-shift. But Ava couldn't possibly destroy their belongings or beat up the wall. So, even though the phone's battery was only 7%, he installed a song from a playlist that Lexa called "Chill vibes. Breath, Darling's".

With a cheerful guitar playing, almost muffled by ferocious sea howls, Ava tuned the loudest volume of her phone, pointing the speaker right at the ear, then force yourself to sing the lyrics spoken by the singer in the object.

River, familiar with the custom, nodded his head to the melody Ava spoke.

On the other hand, Dom looked at the girl in front of him strangely, but seeing his now calm and busy sister paying attention, even a small mutter, he chose to keep his mouth shut.

Song changed. Ava sings louder, a little loose. Lorah and River applauded along with the rhythm of the music, Dom timidly followed. Ava's stiff face slowly melted.

In the sixth song, a small yellow glow from a candle shines on Ava's expression that matches the atmosphere of the song she developed, the gesture is also dynamic, fully displaying a performance worth seeing on stage.

Her phone died before finishing the tenth song, but Ava still passionately continued with just a pat from her three audience.

After finishing, Ava gasped. But he beamed, with a smile that reached his eyes, not a grin or a business smile.

In this way, his emotions will be stable at least for the next three days. After that, Ava can only hope that her power bank order is complete. Sometimes he is also confused with himself.

Their ship was no longer swaying, only a moaning of muffled rain behind their walls. But the lights are still not on. Their wax bars were also nearly depleted, leaving one still in the drawer.

"We-" Ava's voice is broken, almost certainly her voice tomorrow will be hoarse because dare to challenge the storm, "Ehem, we have to ask for more candles."

But Ava hesitates to ask anyone other than herself to leave. River, he's notorius as a monster tamer, the ship's staff is even disrespectful to him, he's too submissive, too, Ava was afraid when the man was bullied River instead remained silent and did not defend himself even though he was big. In contrast to Dom, one wrong word will lead to a fight, he quickly raised his hand. Ava also did not have the heart to send Lorah, the little girl would only be used as an object of contempt because of the appearance that she still did not control, in contrast to her brother.

So even though her voice was running out, Ava was the one leaving.

"Be careful, Rina, the floor is slippery."

"Yes, Brother. Careful."

"If no one wants to give candles, bogem only their face."

Ava traced a dark hallway with candles along her fist, tiptoes avoiding the wet pattern.

But he did not find anyone. The rooms he passed by were silent, Ava thought she would at least hear low boisterousness from each room.

Relying on the memories of the map he had memorized from the board after the entrance, Ava finally arrived at the clerk's office. No one answered, even though he had already knocked several times.

What's the matter?

"People are disappearing."

Ava reflexively swung her free hand, which was instantly held back by the mysterious figure from which the voice originated.

"Well, calm down, it's me" The ranker took off Ava's arm that she was holding. "Maybe this is a phenomenon that is rife right now."

"What phenomenon?"

"Black storm."
