Hijrah in the Way of God

Hijrah in the Way of God
The match?

That afternoon Ridho seemed busy with a stack of files on his desk. He seemed to focus on looking at the laptop in front of him while typing his finger on the laptop keyboard. He must keep himself busy so as not to think about the incident.

Tok tok tok tok

The sound of the door coming from outside the room was heard.

"Come in" said Ridho who continues to focus on the laptop screen.

"Someone wants to see you, sir," said a Ridho secretary.

Ridho said, "Who?"

"Mother Merry, sir."

Ridho remembers Merry was one of his classmates while studying in London. Why did the girl come here and where did she know that Ridho was here. A little surprised, but Ridho tried not to think about it. Just thinking about Rahma made her dizzy. He doesn't want to think about anything unimportant. "Send him in!"

The secretary nodded, "Good, sir."

Not long after that girl named Merry came in. The girl with the face of the bule seemed to be smiling cleftly when she saw Ridho.

"Hay," said.

Ridho turned to look at the girl's appearance. The girl was very pretty, but she was not interested in it. What's more seeing Merry's clothes lacking in material that makes her quiver in disgust. He doesn't like women like that. Showing his heart here and there. Ridho slightly thought about whether the girl had no shame in dressing like that. She was ashamed to see it.

"What's wrong?" tanyanya was careless without seeing the girl.

"During not meeting. Don't you miss me?"

"Not at all" he answered briefly.

Merry looked surprised. He seemed to be in disbelief at the young man's answer.

"You know not soon we'll be engaged. Your papa and my papa have agreed that in a week we'll be engaged."

The girl smiled happily. He had imagined that he would be engaged to the handsome young man before him. It was really lucky that he got the guy. Dream man.

Papa Merry and Papa Ridho are close friends. When Hermana went to London he often stayed at his father's house Merry. Tomi papa from Merry is Indonesian while her mother is British.

Hermana had long planned to match Ridho with Merry to form a close friendship with Tomi.

Ridho looked surprised to hear Merry's words. What the fuck? Why didn't his father tell him? Why decide for yourself?

Hermana is really selfish. He did not think about Ridho's feelings at all. Where might Ridho want to get engaged to the girl dressed less material. Just saw that Ridho was reluctant let alone engaged.

Ridho stood up and walked out of the room. He would ask his father about this. He took his cell phone out of his pocket and called his dad.

"Hallo?"

Hermana's voice came from across.

"I don't want Merry's fiancee, Pa!"

Ridho immediately revealed his heart to his papa without further ado.

"Why? Merry is beautiful. A lot of guys out there want him to be a couple. I don't think there's anything wrong with him."

"But the thing is I don't love him, Pa." Ridho sighed for a moment. "I don't want to, Pa. Please cancel that fight."

"Son, this once you hear papa. It's all for your good. Merry's a very suitable person to be your life partner."

Instantly the connection is severed.

The clock shows at 8 p.m. The restaurant workers are home. Rahma still seemed to be counting the expenses and profits of the small restaurant.

"That's alhamdulillah his profit is growing ever more." Put the envelope on the table. The envelope he will give to the orphanage he once visited with Ridho.

Usually Rahma every month will donate to the orphanage.

The atmosphere of the home looked peaceful. The children of the home seemed to run here and there. They play with their joy. Rahma looked smiling looking at that. He said there was a joy to see the children look cheerful. Slowly his feet stepped into the courtyard of the parlour with a grin on his lips.

"Sister Rahma?"

Jio looked happy to see Rahma coming. A smile rose on the child's lips. Rahma has not been there for a long time. Last two weeks ago the girl visited. A box filled with food. It was his habit to bring food from his restaurant here.

"Jio." Rahma walked closer. "Where's mom?" tanyakanya.

Jio slightly looked up at Rahma then rolled his eyes looking for the whereabouts of the orphanage mother. "That's another conversation, Bang Ridho." Head towards the terrace. There's a long chair there.

Rahma was a little surprised. What he should do. Honestly, he was happy to see the young man again, but he was also afraid of the consequences of the incident a few days ago. He was afraid that Ridho would be indifferent to him. And that made him sick.

"Roman."

A cry from the mother of the parlor cheered him. The mother looked enthusiastic. The rarest moment the two men had come together.

Rahma looked tense. He stared at Ridho for a moment from a distance and then turned to the mother of the orphanage.

Ridho also looked at the girl. There was a very deep yearning in him towards the girl. He was eager to say that he missed, but circumstances made him not say that. The girl did not like him and he had to look ordinary in front of the girl. He said the girl was no longer alone.

"Son Rahma why was there. Let's sit here there's Nak Ridho too" said the house's mother. What happened to these two, he thought.

Rahma. "Yes, Mom." Legs up. A little nervous when he was near the young man sitting in front of him. Their eyes met and Rahma turned her eyes. It was clearly a look into the longing in his eyes. Rahma tried to hold back her feelings. He did not want to sin because of his feelings. "This mother has a little food for the children of the home," thrust the food box in her hand to the mother of the home.

The mother of the parlour accepted it, taking over in Rahma's hands. "Mom to the kitchen first. Make you drink." The mother stood up and went inside the parlor.

Rahma remained silent without a sound. He did not know what to say to the young man in front of him.

"How are you?" Ridho tried to smile. The smile was trying to get him out. It should look ordinary.

Rahma stunned. Didn't expect Ridho to ask her how. He thought the young man was angry. Apparently his guess is not. Thank goodness the young man could still smile at him.

"Alhamdulillah I'm good," she replied still nervously.

"Six more days I'm getting engaged to papa's chosen girl. You're coming yes!" Ridho was still trying to bring out his forced smile.

Deg

Rahma's throat was blocked. Tight chest. The pain he felt. I think he wants to cry right now. But with all his might he held back his tears. Whatisthis? That young man is getting engaged? And that means he really won't match up with the young man he hopes to be his life partner?

"Oh yeah don't forget to take Dimas too! Dimas was lucky to get you. Honestly, from then until now, my feelings are still the same. I love you Rahma."

Collapse is Rahma's defense. He had been hard-earned to hold his cry. And Ridho's words just knocked him down. Her tears fell without excuse and it made Ridho astonished. Is there something wrong with his words?
