I'm Not a Real Master

CH 10: Events in the Valley

Amidst the fanfare of preparations against the Blue Sky sect, Liu Huan pondered in solitude in his room.

[Concentration is very important. Without it, any effort would be in vain]

“Iya I know” muttered Liu Huan in heart.

Previously, when meeting with the Lin family, Liu Huan felt himself unable to help, so he chose to return to his room. That was where he got the advice of the system to regulate his meridians, dantian, and spiritual energy.

"Alright, let's focus" Liu Huan said seriously.

With great concentration, streams of life essence slowly gathered together and entered his body. He felt calm and peaceful when he meditated. The flow of meridians went in sync with his heartbeat, making it easier for Liu Huan to control his spiritual energy.

[Stay focused, feel the energy gathering within you]

A while later, Liu Huan opened his eyes and felt his spiritual power and strength become more restrained and aligned.

[Congratulations on your success, Host. The system of giving sacred books the sword arts as gifts. Rewards are automatically stored in the inventory]

"Thank you, System. If I can, can I get that style too?" ask Liu Huan.

[Detects the perverted brain of the Host. The system will do self-awareness] the system replies.

Suddenly, a small lightning bolt appeared and stung Liu Huan.

"AMG!" yelled Liu Huan in pain.

"I'm just kidding, relax" Liu Huan said as he stroked his stung head. "It's a good thing it's not bald."

Liu Huan opened the inventory and found an ancient book inside. He pressed the book and learned the information contained in it. According to the information, the book is one of the high-level swordsmanship in this world. Anyone who learned it would be able to wield the sword proficiently.

"Good as well. Let me try" Liu Huan said, using the book. "Just wait, the pain will come as usual."

Soon, the information entered his memory very quickly, displaying the movements contained in the book.

"Damn it, why is it always this way when using gifts?" lui Huan endured the pain.

After a while, Liu Huan managed to study the book. Out of curiosity, he took out the mask from the inventory and left the house quickly. After being quite far away from the Lin family home, Liu Huan stopped at a valley located between two mountains.

Liu Huan stood in the middle of the silent valley, only the sound of the wind blowing softly could be heard. He clasped his sword tightly, feeling his weight fitting in his hand. In silence, he unsheathed his sword deftly, dazzling the air in front of him. There was a flash of blue light from the tip of the sword, signifying the power contained within.

“It looks like this succeeded” muttered Liu Huan seeing that flash of light.

With an agile movement, Liu Huan began to launch deadly attacks. He swung his sword with great skill, producing a melodious sound of shouting whenever his sword hit the ground or split the air. At the same time, a blue light increasingly radiated from his sword, adding to the dramatic impression of his actions.

Once upon a time, Liu Huan paused for a moment to catch his breath and again attacked in a different style. He applied the new movements he learned from the sword book. Those movements made his sword movements look even more elegant and deadly. There was a beauty in every move Liu Huan made, like a killing dance.

Moments later, when Liu Huan was satisfied training his new abilities, he unsheathed his sword one last time and again kept it in its sheath. He took a deep breath, feeling his burning spirit. Like a lion sharpening its paws before hunting down its prey, Liu Huan was ready to face anything.

"Please! Somebody help me!" suddenly there was the sound of a female scream from within the valley.

"Mmm, what's going on?" liu Huan said in a flat tone, placing his mask which made him look like a mysterious figure.

Without hesitation, Liu Huan immediately rushed towards the voice. Once there, he saw a girl younger than him being attacked by a pack of beasts. Quickly, the girl threw a stone at the animal, hitting one of them.

However, like a cat that felt threatened by a dog, the pack of animals got angry and started pouncing on the Girl. "No!" he shouted, trying to avoid the attack of the wild animal.

Seeing Liu Huan standing in front of him like a hero, made the girl cry. "Hua.." he said, pinching Liu Huan's arm.

"Eh, how about a cry?" liu Huan said in confusion.

"I want to go home…. Huaaa.." said the girl with tears.

"Just calm down, let brother take you," Liu Huan said as he extended his hand, offering help.

Hearing that, the girl stopped her crying and clasped Liu Huan's hand tightly. "Where's your house?" asked Liu Huan in a soft tone.

"My house is there, usually someone else calls it Fang's house" the girl replied as she pointed towards the winding road.

"His sister turned out!" murmured Liu Huan inwardly, resignedly.

"Yes, then hold on. Big brother will move very quickly," Liu Huan said as he carried the little girl attentively.

"Hum," the girl replied, burying her head into Liu Huan's chest.

Quickly, Liu Huan dashed towards the Fang family's residence like a pony racing against a storm. Liu Huan hugged the little girl tightly and began their journey towards the Fang family home. The cold wind blew gently, making the leaves fall around them. In the distance, they could see towering trees along the way.

“Sister, thank you for saving me earlier. You really are a great hero,” the little girl said as she looked at Liu Huan's face covered by the mask with awe.

“Ah, it's nothing. I was just doing my duty as a knight. But, I am glad to be able to help you,” Liu Huan replied with a smile from inside the mask.

Their journey continues. Occasionally, they would have to go through some minor issues to get to the Fang family's home. However, Liu Huan did not feel worried as he could ensure the safety of the little girl.

Suddenly, they heard a rustling sound in the bushes next to the road. Liu Huan quickly asked the little girl to hide behind a tree and she herself prepared to face the threat.

Suddenly, a tiger jumped from the bushes and attacked Liu Huan quickly. Liu Huan took out his sword with reflex and with a fierce friction, he managed to defeat the tiger. The little girl screamed in fear, but Liu Huan comforted her gently.

“Calm down, everything's fine. We must continue our journey,” Liu Huan said.

The two of them then proceeded on their way to the Fang family home carefully. After a few minutes of walking, they finally arrived at the Fang family home. In front of the courtyard, Sin looks around looking for something like a bird looking for its mother.

“Sister, I'm home!” the girl shouted in a soft, heart-stirring voice.

“Xiao Xue where have you been?” sin said with a worried face that looked so clear.

“So I'm sorry, I was walking around the city but instead strayed into the forest,” Xiao Xue said in a fearful tone that melted the hearts of anyone who heard her.

“Long that, Far too bad oi his roughness,” Liu Huan murmured in heart.

“It's okay that important you survived,” reply Sin stroked Xiao Xue's hair gently.

At that moment, Sin told his sister to go first into the house, the little girl thanked Liu Huan and ran to his house quickly. When Xiao Xue was already inside the house, Sin thanked Liu Huan who was wearing a mask.

“I thank you very much to senior for helping my sister,”, he said with a sincere and heartwarming respect.

“No need, it just so happened that I was there,” Liu Huan replied casually like a person who did not want to stand out.

As he wanted to leave, Sin suddenly lunged at him with a sword. At that moment, Liu Huan easily dodged the attack from Sin.

“Hey, can you explain what all this means,” Liu Huan said with his terrifying aura of intimidation like a dragon rampaging on the high seas.

Just then, Sin who felt such a powerful aura was unable to resist and was bowed under such a terrifying pressure. “I'm sorry senior, I just want to test the strength of my sister's helper,” he said with a pain that pierced his heart.

Being honest, Liu Huan released his aura and left from there instantly like lightning bolting in the sky. As Liu Huan had left, Sin rose from his place and pondered the incident as if he were solving a puzzle. “Who is that person, why does it feel like being in front of a wall so big” Sin murmured while adjusting his breath
