CH 2: Reborn

A few months earlier, there was an ordinary human living in a city. In that city, he was known as Izanagi. Izanagi is an introverted young man who lives in a small town in Indonesia. His life was mediocre, but he always felt dissatisfied with his life that was empty and had no meaning.

One night, when Izanagi came home from the minimarket, he saw a woman being robbed in a park. Without a second thought, Izanagi immediately ran towards the woman and tried to protect her. Unfortunately, his attempt failed and he was seriously injured.

On the verge of losing consciousness, Izanagi saw a white light suddenly appear before her. The light offers a second chance to live in the world of Murim, a world inhabited by various mythical creatures and legends from around the world.

Izanagi accepted the offer and immediately, his spirit was transferred to the world of Murim. However, he was not born as a new baby, but rather joined a human body that was on the verge of dying over the mountains. The body that had been seen dead was immediately revived.

"Huaa.." cried Izanagi as she awoke in that body. "Where am I?"

Slowly, everything began to become clear. Izanagi feels that he has become a part of a new body and can feel every vibration, touch, and pain of that body. With an uneasy feeling, Izanagi tried to get up from her place. "Who is the owner of this body?" he muttered while fumbling his body.

Suddenly, all the memories of the previous owner of the body flowed into Izanagi's mind quickly. As those memories entered his mind, Izanagi grew increasingly shocked and confused. He felt the memories, emotions, and life experiences of the humans who previously occupied that body.

Izanagi vividly recalled how the owner of the body had fallen over the mountains and felt a tremendous pain throughout his body. He felt a sense of despair and fear that filled the human mind when he realized he was about to die. All of those memories further confused Izanagi about why he could be in that human body and what world he was in right now.

He felt he knew nothing about the world and how to survive there. However, there is one memory of that human that attracted the attention of Izanagi, that is the extraordinary power that exists in that body. That power felt extremely powerful and potential, as if something was asleep in it and ready to awaken.

"It seems like I have understood the situation of the owner of this body" Izanagi muttered after having all the memories of the owner of the body. Izanagi learns that the previous owner of the body is named Liu Huan, a man who is considered unable to awaken his cultivation and is considered trash by his family. Because his family did not want to be ashamed, Liu Huan was expelled from the house and was not allowed to return.

One day, in a western town, Liu Huan accidentally marries a warlord. As a result, the groom died of a heart attack. Not wanting to mess up the wedding, Liu Huan disguised himself as the groom by wearing a mask that became a tradition there. After the event was over, the two of them went to the room to do their honeymoon.

But when the bride opened the mask, she was very surprised. The person he married turned out to be Liu Huan, a young man who was still at the very bottom in martial arts and cultivation techniques. “Please calm down, I can explain,” Liu Huan said as he closed his mouth to the Bride named Shiori.

After Shiori calmed down, Liu Huan began to explain the events that befell the groom. On the night before, they accidentally meet at a bar. At that moment, the man was already drunk and Liu Huan quickly realized that the man was trying to rape a woman. Without hesitation, Liu Huan helped the woman. But unfortunately, bad luck befell the groom because he had a fatal heart attack due to the incident.

Hearing Liu Huan's explanation, Shiori finally understood the incident. However, at that moment, Shiori confirmed the boundary between herself and Liu Huan. “We have become husband and wife, but you got the title in a dishonest way,” Shiori said with emotion. “For tonight, I will let you sleep here to avoid the suspicion of others, but remember, never touch me without permission.”

The next morning, Liu Huan awoke from his sleep and was shocked to see a group of armed troops enter his room and point guns at him. In his panic, he searched for Shiori, but found her there. "What's going on? Where is Shiori?" ask her anxiously.

"Follow us," said one of the guards, dragging Liu Huan.

He was then taken to a magnificent building where members of the Shiori family were waiting for him. "This is the person disguised as the groom," the guard said as he pushed Liu Huan forward.

The sharp gaze of the elder from the Shiori family looked at Liu Huan suspiciously. "So you're a piece of trash sneaking into my daughter's wedding" he said in a sharp tone.

Liu Huan felt extremely scared and tried to find Shiori's whereabouts. "Is Shiori here?" ask her tremblingly.

"Shiori is not here. I gave him the task of going to the opposite city," the elder replied.

However, the Shiori family elder simply laughed. "Heart Attack? You think I'm too old to know what's going on?" said the elder with a dismissive tone.

After discussing for quite a while, the Lin family finally made a decision. They called some people and gave the order to cover Liu Huan's head with a sack. Afterwards, the Lin family gave orders to take Liu Huan to a mountain range to be executed.

“Sial, it turns out you have a pretty tragic experience as well, Liu Huan,” Izanagi said after learning the truth.

While about to leave from there, suddenly a voice sounded, “Confirming the identity of the user, the identity is known. Welcome, host in the world murim.”

“Ha, sound from where is it?” ask Izanagi wonder.

“Analyzing the appearance that can be understood by the host, appearance confirmed.” After the sound was heard, a screen suddenly appeared that looked like a menu in an RPG game.

“What is this?” ask Izanagi.

“I am a system given by someone before you go to this world. With me by your side, you can be the strongest and avenge the previous owner,”.

Because all the things he experienced were absurd, Izanagi finally understood this. With a strong determination, he declared, "Today, Izanagi is no more. In this world, I will use Liu Huan's name and become someone who will be at the peak of true cultivation."

“If you may know, how long will it take to become a master?” ask Izanagi who now uses the name Liu Huan.

“Start analyzing changes, changes are obtained. Name Liu Huan, age 24, gender..”.
